Up for sale is a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg. The car is Black with a Gray leather interior. I bought the car from Archer Volkswagen in Houston Texas on 06/09/2012 as a Certified Pre-Owned VW. The car came with 24 months of factory VW warranty, there is 15 months remaining on that warranty which is automatically transferable to the buyer of the car.
The car is n very good mechanical and cosmetic condition. There are absolutely no mechanical problems with this car, there are a few small scratches and one or two very small dings that would expect from a 2008 car but overall it is in very good condition. There is a full service history available from Archer Volkswagen except for the last oil change which I had done at Momentum Volkswagen also in Houston Texas. The tires still have about 70% tread left on them but I will take it to Discount Tire this week so a third party can confirm this. If any tires need changed they will be replaced with brand new tires.
I have just paid off the car and I will have the title in hand this week. The only reason I am selling this car is because my father-in-law has agreed to sell me his current car for a price I can not turn down. I had intended to keep the Jetta for several years, hence the fact I bought a CPO car. This car is a blast to drive and I will be sad to see it go. I am happy to set up test drives for potential buyers in Houston, I am also happy to work if anyone wants to send round a mechanic to look over the car. I will also be more than happy to work with out of state buyers who need to have this vehicle shipped to them.

Porsche-Piech buy 10% stake in VW's holding company
Tue, 18 Jun 2013In August, 2009, as the scuttled merger of Porsche and Volkswagen had gone bad and Porsche was backed up against the ropes, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (PAHSE) relinquished a ten-percent stake in itself to Qatar Holdings as well as options it held on 17 percent of VW shares. The sale meant that, for the first time since the founding of the company 61 years before, an entity outside the Porsche and Piech families had a say in the running of PAHSE.
Buying that ten-percent stake back returns full ownership to the two families, the holding company's sole possession being ownership of 50.7 percent of VW's common shares. The price paid wasn't disclosed, but at market rates the purchase would be worth close to $1.25 billion. Qatar intends to hold onto the 17-percent stake it has in Volkswagen.
Automakers score 8 out of top 20 most-watched ads on YouTube [w/videos]
Fri, 14 Dec 2012Who would have ever thought there'd be a day where people are able to skip television commercials only to go to websites to watch them later? Such is the joy of a DVR and YouTube. AdWeek tabulated the 20 most-watched ads on YouTube, and found that nine were car-related including eight coming from automakers.
Volkswagen continued its Star Wars theme with two ads in the top 20, including the highest-ranking car commercial The Bark Side spot at number three with almost 18 million views, which doesn't even have a single car in it. Some of our favorites are from Chrysler with Clint Eastwood in It's Halftime in America and House Arrest with Charlie Sheen for the Fiat 500 Abarth. Chevrolet, Honda, Audi and Toyota were the other automakers in the top 20, but we'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention one of the coolest ads on the list, the Hot Wheels corkscrew jump.
Of all the car videos, only the Fiat ad wasn't played during a Super Bowl. Check out all eight videos - in order - after the jump. Nike took the top spot with its My Time is Now ad that has been seen online more than 20 million times with Pepsi's Uncle Drew posted up in the runner-up; some of the other videos include four Old Spice commercials and an ad in which Snoop Dogg is pedaling Hot Pockets.
VW investigating Golf water leak discovered by car magazine
Sat, 07 Sep 2013Volkswagen is in a spat with German magazine Auto Bild over claims that its new, seventh-generation Golf may already need a recall. The German weekly reports that new Golfs can leak water into front-passenger footwells due to a faulty drainage tube in their air conditioning systems.
And while the fix itself doesn't sound too terrible, because Volkswagen bases so many cars off the same platform as the Golf, Auto Bild is claiming that 300,000 models could be affected, including the Audi A3 and Seat Leon. That's a very bold claim. For its part, VW is vehemently denying that number, according to Reuters, saying it's aware of the problem and claiming only 46 Golfs need fixing. In addition, it denies that any Audi or Seat models are affected by the issue.
Either way, regardless of how pervasive this leak issue is, North American buyers should rest easy knowing that the problems ought to get fixed by the time the Mk VII Golf finaly reaches our dealerships.
