Buyer must pick car up or can meet within a 2 hour drive, once paid in full.
I have for sale a Metalic Gray 2006 VW Jetta with a 1.9 TDI (diesel) with a manual trans. The car has 115,290 on it.
There is no slip in the transmission like in the DSG trans VW offers, I average 35mpg City and up to 46mpg Highway at 70-75mph (all hand calculated)
The car is loaded with leather seat, monsoon sound system that VW offered, cold a/c, new preformance tires with about 85% tread still on them.
The timing belt, water pump, and belt tensionor was replaced at 97,000 miles (good for another 90,000 miles), and a New VW Battery
All the fuel filter changes and oil changed were all done with right spec of oil, and on time as the manuel saids.
The Good:
Well Maintaned car..... TDtuning diesel chip for added mileage, and performance....Leather seats.....cold A/C....Factory upgraded stereo speakers.....No rips or tears....great body panels for being 6 years old... Timing belt has already been done, along with belt tensionor and water pump....performance tires....great fuel mileage....and many others
The downside:
There is small body damage like any car would have but nothing major, small quarter size dent on rear passenger panel...one small crach on front bumper ( hard to see).... small paint lifting on dash by the vents, 1 inch long x 1/8 inch wide,..... and the egr valve has a small exhaust leak st the butterfly valve ( it doesnt hurt anything just has a small whistle, and makes the maintance wrech blink at start up, which then goes away after 3 blinks)

Winterkorn vacates chairs on Audi, Truck & Bus boards
Thu, Nov 12 2015The last remaining vestiges of Martin Winterkorn's power within the Volkswagen Group are slowly melting away. The former chairman of the group's management board resigned as CEO nearly two months ago in the wake of the diesel emissions scandal. He held onto other roles within the group, but one by one he's been vacating those as well. Last month Winterkorn resigned from his role at Porsche SE – Volkswagen's largest shareholder. Now the latest development comes from Bloomberg, which reports that Winterkorn has stepped down from his role as chairman of the supervisory board at Audi. Prior to his promotion to run the entire group, Winterkorn served as chief executive of the Audi division, and prior to his resignation served continued to serve as its board chairman. No date was given for his resignation from that capacity, nor any successor named at this point. Repeated requests for clarification from Audi have gone unanswered. In correspondence with Autoblog, however, spokespeople for VW's commercial vehicle operations confirmed that Winterkorn has also stepped down as the chairman of the board at Truck & Bus GmbH. The newly established division encompasses truck manufacturers Man and Scania. Winterkorn also served as chairman of Scania's board, but requests for confirmation of his departure from that role also went unanswered. The Swedish truck manufacturer, however, named Henrik Henriksson as its a new chief executive only a few days ago.
French probe alleges 2 million PSA cars had engine cheats
Fri, Sep 8 2017PARIS — A French investigation into alleged emissions cheating by PSA Group found that suspect software had been used on almost 2 million vehicles sold by the maker of Peugeot and Citroen cars, Le Monde reported on Friday. Paris-based PSA denies any use of fraudulent engine software, a spokesman said in response to the newspaper report, which sent PSA shares sharply lower. The stock was down 4.4 percent at 17.78 euros as of 1019 GMT. So-called "defeat devices" restrict exhaust output of toxic nitrogen oxides (NOx) under regulatory test conditions while letting emissions far exceed legal limits in real-world driving. In February, PSA became the fourth carmaker to be referred to French prosecutors by the country's DGCCRF watchdog over suspected emissions test-cheating, after Volkswagen, Renault and Fiat Chrysler. PSA's engineering chief acknowledged at the time that emissions treatment in the group's diesels was deliberately reduced at higher temperatures to improve fuel efficiency and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in out-of-town driving, where NOx output is considered less critical. According to Le Monde, an internal PSA document obtained by DGCCRF investigators includes discussion of the need to "make the 'defeat device' aspect less obvious and visible." However PSA insists there is nothing fraudulent or illegal about its engine calibrations. "PSA denies any fraud and firmly reaffirms the pertinence of its technology decisions," the company said on Friday. Watch the VW E-Golf get made
Fri, Jun 13 2014If you've ever been on a tour of an automotive factory, you know how mesmerizing it can be to see humans and robots work together to build our four-wheeled friends. The swift automation, the cleanliness, the trained hands deftly fitting pieces together and watchful eyes inspecting every piece of the car, it's all quite impressive, especially if the vehicle is one you, as an observer, are fond of. Even just seeing a fresh, gleaming badge being applied to immaculately painted sheet metal is enough to curl ones toes. Such is the case with this video from of the E-Golf being pieced together in the Volkswagen's Wolfsburg plant. There's no narration or music - just the sounds of production - so it's easy to follow the singular motions that go into the process without distraction, with a slight sense of actually being on the floor. This solo video is only seven minutes long, so it's not quite the epic that was the BMW i3 production series. Therefore, we miss a lot of the initial build, such as pressing the sheet metal, painting, and putting together a lot of the inner workings. What is refreshing to see is how much of the final touches of the electric Golf are done by hand using actual hand tools (and with typical German efficiency). There's even a person riding a bicycle through the factory at one point, which is common at Wolfsburg and also rather quaint. Enjoy the video below, and if you have a suggestion for a good soundtrack to go along with it, sound off in the comments. This content is hosted by a third party.
