2002 Volkswagen Jetta Tdi - No Reserve - Great Shape on 2040-cars
Rome, New York, United States
2002 VW Jetta TDI Automatic. Car has no reverse, forward gears work fine, not sure what's wrong, most likely a solenoid like my last VW. Car is in good shape for the year. Highway mileage, 257k thruway miles. Body has minor surface rust and paint peel but nothing major. Everything works 100%. No check engine light. A month ago it had a check engine light and low power upon acceleration.. I brought it to Salisbury VW and they said the VNT was sticking, which is similar to a wastegate. They cleaned it, fixed the problem, but I had already purchased a new wastegate from the dealer. So whoever wins this auction, also gets a brand new $240 wastegate. Power locks work, everything in the interior works like new, heated seats, sunroof, good sound system, etc - great commuter car, gets 48+ mpg highway. Timing was last done at just over 200k, so it's got a while left. Good tires and brakes, if I didn't purchase a 2013 TDI I would keep it and wetsand the paint and it would look like new. Any questions just ask. Car is located in Central New York, shipping available at $1.00/mile through my company, or check uShip. Clean title. Full payment due within 3 days of auction end.
RELISTED A SECOND TIME DUE TO AN INDIAN BEING THE WINNING BIDDER. UNITED STATES CITIZENS ONLY, MUST HAVE FEEDBACK. CALL ME AT 315-464-0636 WITH ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE AUCTION END, AND REMEMBER CAR DOES NOT HAVE WORKING REVERSE!!! |

TRANSLOGIC 150: Volkswagen XL1
Mon, Feb 24 2014How do you build the world's most fuel-efficient production car? Start with the world's most aerodynamic design. The Volkswagen XL1 is capable of 261 miles per gallon thanks to its sleek shape and ultra efficient plug-in diesel hybrid powertrain. The downside is that only 250 will be made and none will be sold stateside. That didn't stop us from taking our turn behind the wheel of this truly revolutionary ride.
VW Sport Coupe Concept GTE 'marks beginning of a new design era' [w/video]
Mon, Mar 2 2015You didn't think that Volkswagen was going to come to Geneva armed only with a bunch of European-market minivans and wagons, did you? Of course not. Last week VW gave us our first glimpse at a new show car for the Swiss auto expo, and here it is in full: the Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE. Set to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this week, the Sport Coupe is envisioned as a successor to the current CC, but beyond previewing a specific model, this concept showcases a new design language that's set to characterize all new VWs to come. And judging by how good it looks from the images in the slideshow above, that could prove to be a very good thing indeed. The concept strikes us as the sleekest iteration yet of the company's flexible MQB architecture that already underpins vehicles as small as the Golf and as large as the new Skoda Superb. It's larger than the current CC in every dimension but height, and pushes the wheels further out on a longer wheelbase. And with a liftgate at the back instead of a trunk, it strikes a form more similar to the Audi A7 than the Passat-based CC. As with recent past concepts, VW has taken the opportunity to showcase its hybrid powertrain technologies, fitting the Sport Coupe with a plug-in hybrid system that couples a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 to a pair of electric motors and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The internal combustion engine drives 295 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to the front wheels, while an electric motor integrated into the gearbox contributes another 54 hp and a second one kicks in 114 hp at the rear. Juiced by a lithium-ion battery housed in the center tunnel and offering all-wheel traction, the combined output of 374 hp is said to be capable of propelling the concept to 62 miles per hour in five seconds flat and on to a top speed of 155 mph. It can travel for 32 miles on electric power alone and on to an overall range of 745 miles, netting the equivalent of 118 miles per gallon on the European cycle. Inside, the four-seat cabin is laden with digital displays: there's a 12.3-inch unit – dominated by the speedo and power meter – in place of a conventional instrument cluster. The center stack incorporates a 10.1-inch infotainment display, and the rear-seat passengers have access to another 12.3-inch display at the back of the center console and another pair of 10.1-inch displays in the seatbacks.
Volkswagen Golf R wagon promises to be fast and functional [w/poll]
Tue, 25 Mar 2014Volkswagen's array of performance-oriented Golfs keeps getting bigger and bigger. What started with the GTI has since grown to include the diesel GTD, the hybrid GTE and the most powerful Golf R. But the additions haven't all come down to powertain. There's been cabrio versions of the GTI and Golf R as well, but before all is said and done, there will be one more bodystyle to join the lineup.
That, according to these latest spy shots, would be the Golf R Variant. For those unfamiliar, Variant is what Volkswagen calls the wagon version of the Golf (in some markets, anyway). It offers the Golf Variant with a variety of engines, but as the spy shots reveal, it is now working on bringing the Golf Variant and the Golf R together into one high-powered, long-roofed model.
The VW Golf R Variant would in all likelihood pack the same 2.0-liter turbo four as the hatchback, splitting 290 horsepower between all four wheels. Only in the wagon, it would offer that extra bit of utility. Of course there's no guarantee that Volkswagen would offer the Golf R Variant in the North American market, but considering that the Golf R hatchback will soon be joined in American showrooms by the Golf SpotWagen (as it's tipped to be called here) in place for the Jetta wagon, the possibility is definitely there.
