2001 Volkswagen Jetta Sedan 1.8l Black In Nyc Check Engine Is On on 2040-cars
Sunnyside, New York, United States
It's a black 2001 Jetta Automatic with 130 thousands miles on it, only 25,000 are city miles, the rest are highway miles.
paint is pealing out in few places (as u can see from the picture) Its was a very nice car, I have it for more than 3 years. Available for test-drive after 9PM week days. Text me for the weekends. Please text me @ (two-one-two) 810-0277 if you need any other info. If you know (or know a person who knew) how to fix, this car is for you Check engine light is on (it's a MAF Mas Airflow Sensor problem again P102 code) Replaced the Oxygen sensors with the Bosh brand new ones Replaced fuel pump with the new Bosh brand Replaced water pump with the belt last year (this alone costed me more than $1K ) Stereo works but no so good, buttons getting stuck, etc. Bough a replacement with MP3 playback, I'll throw it in, you'll install. Battery is 3 y/o, but sometimes it takes few times to start in cold weather like today People love these Jettas like their babies, big online community exists on few sites/forums, they are very reliable once you know how to fix them. Only recently I've spent more on this than I'm asking for it, so it's priced to sell and the price is not negotiable |

Last VW bus ever made arrives at final destination
Fri, 31 Jan 2014A Brazilian politician tried to save it, unsuccessfully, so the final Last Edition Volkswagen Type 2 Kombi was produced on December 20, 2013 and now resides in a vintage museum at Volkswagen's Commercial Vehicles HQ in Hanover, Germany.
The Volkswagen Microbus was built for 56 years, starting in September 1957. Brazil was the last country still assembling it, but new safety regulations in the country requiring airbags and ABS on all cars spelled the end. When that politician introduced a bill that would pardon only the 'Bus from a death sentence, it couldn't garner the required number of votes for passage. The South American country takes the Kombi production title, though, with 1.5 million of the 3.5 million total made in the home of Copacabana beach and the girl from Ipanema.
The VW Bus is dead. Now perhaps we can turn our attentions to the still-not-totally-settled matter of the Bulli...
Child cobalt miners: Automakers pledge ethical minerals sourcing for EVs
Wed, Nov 29 2017BERLIN - Leading carmakers including Volkswagen and Toyota pledged on Wednesday to uphold ethical and socially responsible standards in their purchases of minerals for an expected boom in electric vehicle production. Demand for minerals such as cobalt, graphite and lithium is forecast to soar in the coming years as governments crack down on vehicle pollution and carmakers step up their investments in electric models. To cover its plans for more than 80 new models by 2025, Volkswagen alone is looking for partners in China, Europe and North America to provide battery cells and related technology worth more than 50 billion euros ($59 billion). Talks with major cobalt producers, including Glencore, at VW's Wolfsburg headquarters last week ended without a deal. More than half of the world's cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country racked by political instability and legal opacity, and where child labor is used in mines. On Wednesday, a group of 10 leading passenger-car and truck manufacturers announced an initiative to jointly identify and address ethical, environmental, human and labor rights issues in raw materials sourcing. The partnership dubbed "Drive Sustainability" consists of VW, Toyota Motor Europe, Ford, Daimler, BMW, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo Cars and truckmakers Scania and Volvo. The alliance "will assess the risks posed by the top raw materials (such as mica, cobalt, rubber and leather) in the automotive sector," said Stefan Crets of the CSR Europe business network. "This will allow Drive Sustainability to identify the most impactful activities to pursue" to address issues within the supply chain.Reporting by Andreas Cremer.Related Video: Image Credit: Michael Robinson Chavez/The Washington Post via Getty Images Green BMW Ford Honda Jaguar Land Rover Mercedes-Benz Automakers Toyota Volkswagen Volvo Green Automakers Green Culture Electric Scania ethics mining
