Hello, Up for auction is my wife's 06 TDI, Its loaded with heated, seats sunroof, leather, power windows/doors, etc. The car is in great condition. It was VW certified when it had 58k miles. It has new brakes and rotors front and rear, new tires all around, and all the fluids and filters have been changed. We purchased the car because we needed an economical vehicle to get back and forth because my wife was traveling 48 miles each way. This car averages 45-48 mpg. The car has always been dealer serviced, every service done on time, synthetic oil and filter every 5k, spotless maint. history and carfax! The car needs nothing , no oil leaks, no rust, no odd noises. It has been well taken care of. The headliner fabric has pulled away a little in the rear, nothing major, I got a quote of $200-$300 to repair, It hasn't bothered me enough to replace, not really visible to the driver. The interior seats ,carpet, dash are all in excellent condition. Everything is in working order. The outside is a 9 out of 10, fine little stone chips due to highway driving. North American car buyers get a bit of a slap in the face when it comes to delivery schedules for new the Volkswagen Golf and pumped-up GTI models. We'll just repeat the old chestnut: It's worth the wait... even though it still stinks. This time around, Western Europe is taking deliveries of the new Golf as we speak, and GTI deliveries start between May and July. North America doesn't get the Mk7 Golf or GTI until about July of 2014.
So we approached our first drive of the new GTI with this chip on our shoulder: "You're making us wait? Well, then at least give us the exact car we'll be able to buy. No compromises, mein freund." And so it was that we extracted nearly all of our drive impressions from behind the wheel of what, for the United States, will technically be a model year 2015 two-door Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance with the standard six-speed manual.
VW midsize crossover production headed for Chattanooga
Fri, 10 Jan 2014Potential labor woes aside, it looks like Volkswagen's Chattanooga, TN factory must have done something that impressed the bosses in Germany, because it sounds like the three-year-old factory is set to score a second model.
The factory currently builds the Passat, and has been in the running alongside VW's Puebla, Mexico factory to build a new crossover vehicle, likely based on the CrossBlue Concept. According to Bloomberg, a pair of unnamed sources have confirmed that Chattanooga is the favorite ahead of an official announcement.
When last we heard about the CrossBlue Concept, word was that a production decision had been delayed over concerns about the three-row CUV's business case. That August 2013 story claimed that a decision regarding the CrossBlue would be pushed back until early in 2014, which means we're ripe for some sort of news, whether good or bad.
