It is time to sell my very dependable and affordable VW Jetta Wagon.
I purchased the car about 8 months ago, had my local Import Specialist do a complete refurbishing and bought a set of "Hankook I-Pike RS" winter tires and a set of steel rims, to save the original factory aluminum wheels with "Michelin Energy" tires for the summer.
The car was supposed to be my transportation for a job that was offered to me in Stratford.
My health has changed my plans and I am now retired, for good, and have driven this jewel about 1300 kms since I bought it.
There are about 100 kms on the snow tires and wheels.
The car has still factory rust perforation warranty until 2015 - with NO MILEAGE RESTRICTION - and is almost fully loaded.
These are the options on the car:
Power windows
Power door locks - with keyless remote entry
Power mirrors
Power sunroof - tilt and slide
Tiptronic transmission
A/C
Heated leather front seats
Stability control
ABS
Power steering
Cruise control - on the steering wheel
Premium "Monsoon Sound System" AM/FM/CD
Rear defrost
Rear wiper/washer system
Everything on the car is in perfect working order.
List of parts replaced since 07/2013-invoices to proof!:
Engine oil and filter - full synthetic
Airfilter
Cabin air filter
Transmission oil and filter - full synthetic
Front brake pads and rotors
Rear brake pads and rotors
Left and right CV drive shaft
Rear wiper motor
Fuel filter
E-brake cables
Right inner fender liner
Refurbish headlights
Service secondary air pump, brake calipers, automatic transmission, aim headlights.
I do have a CLEAN CARPROOF report for this vehicle, which is part of the deal.
I know that I will not be able to recover my actual costs for this vehicle, regrettably I did not know that my health would make it impossible for me, to go to work again.
Since this is a private deal, I cannot offer any warranty, other than the remaining factory rust perforation (12/03/2015). The car has been qualified for Lubrico and Global Warranty. Their respective plans can be purchased at any time.
For any question, related to this ad, please contact me by e-mail.
I can show the car by appointment in Milton, Georgetown, Acton or Guelph.
The car is sold CERTIFIED, EMISSION TESTED, with

Volkswagen Golf R Variant ready to haul ass, stuff

Thu, Nov 20 2014

Volkswagen seems to be playing a cruel trick on the American automotive public at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It's displaying its sexy Golf R Variant with no clear intention of actually selling the model here. The hot wagon launches in Europe in the spring, but the automaker makes absolutely no mention of the model's prospects in the US. Hopefully, its appearance in LA at least indicates VW is considering bringing it stateside. The great thing about this wagon is that it has everything that the regular Golf R offers, but there's even more room to carry stuff. The same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine makes 296 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox and 4Motion all-wheel drive. Performance is very close, too, with the Variant R taking 5.1 seconds to get to 62 miles per hour versus the 4.9 seconds the standard R needs to read 60 mph. The two of them also have the same tech goodies like ESC Sport stability control and multiple damping modes. The real advantage to opting for the estate is its ability to carry up to 57.2 cubic feet of cargo in the back. This hot rod wagon would seem to be perfect for the family that needs to haul some extra junk in the trunk, but doesn't want to sacrifice performance. Whether the Variant R makes it to the US remains a mystery, though. Scroll down to read the specs and feel a twinge of jealousy.

European car sales up 8% in February

Sat, 22 Mar 2014

Three weeks ago an analyst increased projections for European car sales this year, expecting them to climb three percent compared to last year instead of 2.7 percent. That number is a postive sign after years of hard times but it turns out February was especially good, overall European sales climbing eight percent on a wave of southern European recovery and discounts - and this comes after five months of gains including January's 7.2-percent jump over the year before.
The only country of Europe's five largest markets to post a decline was France, just as it did in January, Germany, the UK and Italy posting solid double-digit numbers, Spain rocking the charts with an 18-percent increase because of a government program to encourage trade-ins.
The only brand to miss the wave was Volkswagen, dropping 0.8 percent as it watched the double-digit growth at sister brands Audi, Seat and Skoda lift the Volkswagen Group sales up by seven-percent. Peugeot overcame flat sales at Citroën to improve the group by 3.5 percent, BMW and the Mercedes-Benz/Smart combo rose by four percent, the Fiat group jumped 5.8 percent, Ford was up 11 percent, the Renault Group 11.5 percent, General Motors 12 percent and the Toyota clan by 14 percent.

VW readying CC Shooting Brake?

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

This was bound to happen. Volkswagen's relentless drive for big volume has the brand mining seemingly every niche it can find for additional sales worldwide. And with its CLS Shooting Brake, fellow countryman Mercedes-Benz has already shown that a wagon based off of a "four-door coupe" can look dead sexy and command extra dollars. So it follows that the Volkswagen CC (whose existence is all but directly attributable to the success of the original CLS sedan) will also get a load-lugging variant. That's according to the UK's Autocar, which notes that the five-door will come in the CC's next generation.
According to the report, the next CC will be available in front and all-wheel drive variants with the usual assortment of gas and diesel four-cylinders found in the Wolfsburg empire, with the possibility of a gas plug-in hybrid model, too. The rakish estate will ride atop VW's MQB architecture, a shorter variant of which is also found underneath the new Golf. The scalable chassis is set to spread like kudzu throughout the company's lineup, but the CC probably won't happen until after the launch of the next European-market Passat in 2015.
Will we get it in North America? Hard to say. Volkswagen sells the standard CC saloon here, but not in particularly large numbers, and when the company moved to a North American-specific Passat, it dumped the wagon variant. The traditional VW estate apparently continues to pick up sales momentum abroad, however, making the CC Shooting Brake a seemingly natural fit for buyers who still want the utility of a two-box form but can afford to sacrifice a bit of cargo room in the name of style.
