Volkswagen Golf Gti Glx Vr6 2 Door Coupe Hatchback Black Leather 5 Speed Manual on 2040-cars
Orlando, Florida, United States
Hello and welcome to my auction. Here we have a Volkswagen Golf GTI GLX in Satin Silver Metallic with Black Leather Interior. This is a true German built machine. Most of the MK4 models are produced in Brazil, even the special edition models. The color of this car is awesome! The pearl in the paint looks gold during the day and blue during the night. My wife is the second owner of this vehicle and it has been very well maintained. All of the paint is 100% original. Oil changes every 3,000 miles with Casrtol Synthetic. Clutch and timing chain was done at 120,000 by the dealership and the A/C compressor was replaced about 2 years ago with an brand new Sanden unit (same as OEM). I replaced the coil pack about 3 years ago with a brand new OEM part. The interior has heated seats, OEM Monster Mats, and an OEM brushed aluminum trim package out of a 337 Edition GTI. I purchased and installed glass lenses for the headlights to keep them from fogging up. The exterior is kept up by a professional detailer and was treated with GTechniq Crystal Lacquer and maintained with the GTechniq Silo Seal every few months. The pictured OEM VW bike rack is included with purchase (the rear bars are missing the side covers). I purchased Longbeach 17" wheels a few years back and had them repainted, (its not the best job but they look good). The 17"s are wrapped in Sumitomo HTR ZIII 225/45 ZR17 tiles with about 50% tread left on all 4 tires. I have the original wheels for this car and they are wrapped with Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S 205/55 R16 tires with 50% tread on two tires and 75% tread on the other two. These too will be included with purchase. Raceland Ultimo adjustible coilovers have been recently installed less than 800 miles ago and I still have the OEM shocks and will be included with purchase. It is at a perfect height in my opinion, the tires rub only on big bumps. I also have a bunch of other parts I will include if the car is bought at my asking price. Euro spec front bumpr rub strip, 337 edition front bumper lower lip(painted Reflex Silver), badgeless grille (painted Reflex Silver) extra headlight buckets, air filters, oil filters, ect... Now on with the bad, The ABS warning light and the air bag warning light comes on when you start the car but it is probably just sensors. The auto dim rear view mirror has never worked and is discolored. There are small dents and chips around the front of the car, the worst being a 2" dent on the hood from a shopping cart. I ran into the back of someone at about 5 mph and there are some spider cracks in the paint of the bumper and a chunk of plastic is missing from the outer grille (just below the Badge). The grille has some clear coat flaking off but this is the only part of the car with this issue. One of the supports for the glove box is broken and it flops around (common problem with these). The center armrest console has broken off but is still included. We recently bought a 4 door Golf because we just recently had out first child and needed those extra doors. This car has been loved since purchase and I'm sad to see it go but we just don't use it enough to justify keeping it and continue paying insurance premiums on it. I have lots of pictures and can text them to you right away. If you have any questions or would like to see more pictures please contact me with your phone number and I will get back to you right away.

Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE concept previews new midsize CUV... again
Sun, Jan 11 2015Volkswagen has taken a big step towards the long-awaited second model to be built at its Chattanooga, TN factory, introducing the two-row Cross Coupe GTE Concept at the 2015 North American International Auto Show. The relatively handsome two-row crossover borrows its basic styling language from the CrossBlue Concept that launched at the 2013 Detroit show (that we later had a brief chance to drive), and the CrossBlue Coupe from that year's Shanghai Motor Show. To be entirely frank, it just looks like a much more production-ready version of the Shanghai concept. The more aggressive elements of that model, like its rear taillights, rounded wheel arches, and aggressive front and rear fascias, have been toned down considerably. In other words, this concept almost wouldn't look out of place on the average road. Changes in the cabin are similarly minor, with the same basic design as the CrossBlue, complemented by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen display. While it's still quite clearly a concept car interior, it's not hard to imagine VW transitioning this cockpit into a production model. Riding atop the Volkswagen Group's MQB architecture – making it a relative, albeit distant, of cars like the VW Golf, Audi TT and the Euro-market Passat – the Cross Coupe GTE is motivated by a 3.6-liter VR6 that's been mated to not one, but two electric motors (one on each axle). The gas engine offers up 276 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, while the front axle's electric motor generates 54 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque, and the rear can deliver a more robust 114 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque. That cacophony can be easily boiled down to this: the Cross Coupe GTE has a total system output of 355 hp and 280 pound-feet of torque, which is good enough to get the five-seater to 60 miles per hour in six seconds, on to a top speed of 130 miles per hour. As a plug-in hybrid, though, there's more to the Cross Coupe GTE then just its power output. Range plays a big role, and in that regard, this concept is fairly average. It can cover 20 miles when its 14.1-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery is charged up. Beyond that, the drivetrain can be set to a number of modes to optimize the behavior of plug-in-hybrid powertrain. In E-Mode, which can be locked in via a battery hold/battery charge mode, all 20 miles of range are available, although the Cross Coupe's driver will only have the 114-hp rear axle electric motor to work with.
Volkswagen Golf Wagon caught completely uncovered
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Without a lot of information to go with them, our camera-toting spies have captured some new images of a Volkswagen Golf wagon variant that is almost completely undisguised. In fact, the one piece of camouflage on the tidy wagon would probably have gone unnoticed to most casual viewers. Look closely at the rear three-quarter view of the car and you'll notice that the apparent taillight clusters are actually fakes - the outline of the real units is faintly visible behind the blue bodywork and the sticker-like fake taillights.
It's a good guess then, that this Golf wagon (called a Golf Kombi by our spy photographer) is a prototype that's pretty far along in the development cycle for Volkswagen. We can't be sure what impact this will have on the company's small wagon offering here in the US, but we'd be pretty surprised if something very like this didn't end up as the next Jetta SportWagen. We might well have more information on that front, after we visit Geneva next week.
