For almost 3 years this has been my personal GTI. I purchased the GTI with only 19xxx miles, like all my cars from an insurance auction. At the time the car replaced my 2006 GTI which one of my best friends wanted. However, like all my personal cars (Porsche Carrera, Lotus Elise) they don't get driven much and mostly sit in the garage. When I first bought the GTI and fixed it I drove her nearly everyday. When I purchased my 2011 Golf TDI the GTI was parked and only driven when the VA State inspection was due. One year later I sold my Golf TDI and purchased a 2012 Passat TDI. Most of these cars I sell after a year so and move up to a newer model. Not so with my GTI here. I kept it because it is fully loaded.....I mean fully loaded!!! The GTI has Navigation, Plays DVD movies. Leather interior, Heated seats, Moon roof, Xenon headlights, Multi function steering wheel, 2013 upgrade with module and programming. Works flawless!!! The damage to the GTI when I bought it was to the right rear. I included a photo!! I replaced the rear subframe and all the suspension arms in the right rear. I also replaced the rear section of the rocker panel and 2 of the rims on the right side. The tires are brand new and have less than 1000 miles on them. My GTI is also lowered with the German Eibach springs all around. An alignment was done of course and the GTI drives candle straight. There was no damage at all the front of left side of the car. ( There is a photo included showing the GTI the way I bought it. The steering wheel was brand new with airbag, purchased for a 2013 GTI. I also replaced the steering module which needed to be done to make the 2013 Steering wheel function buttons work on an 2009. The module was professionally programmed and married to the car. All the buttons work except the phone button since the 2009 doesn't have the phone feature build in. The battery is also less than a month old!! Everything is full working condition. Ice cold AC, heat works as it should and so is everything else. The tinted windows were done by the previous owner and were already like that when I bought the GTI. The GTI has a 6-speed manual transmission and at 24xxx miles is not even broke in yet. Despite me owning my own shop, I take all my new Volkswagens to the dealer for service. That is because the car was still under warranty when I bought it and Volkswagen was during the all the services and recalls. I have the receipt for the last service done in Virginia Beach at Checkered Flag Volkswagen. It comes with the original books and manuals. Also has the Original Volkswagen GTI monster mats and the Gorilla trunk mat upgrade from Volkswagen. The reason I'm finally selling the GTI is because I purchased a 2013 GTI with only 6xxx miles that is also fully loaded. Yes, I buy all my personal vehicles from insurance auctions. The reason for that is, When you buy a used car at any used car dealership or private customer you should ask yourself why are they selling a car that young if they have no problems with it!! When I buy a damaged car from an insurance auction I know it's there because the insurance company paid the previous owner off rather than fixing the car. Had they not been in an accident with it they'd probably still have the car today!!! The GTI is completely restored to
normal, there are NO WARNING LIGHTS ON!!! As with all our restored
late-model cars, when the repairs were completed the GTI was inspected
by an authorized inspector of the DMV. No aftermarket parts were
used!!! The GTI runs and drives perfectly and there are no flaws.
There are no parts missing, I replace every screw and every clip, no
matter how small -- to fully restore the GTI to previous condition!! I had no means of selling any time soon when I first purchased the GTI.
We do accept certain trades ins but only
Mercedes Benz, Mini Cooper, or Volkswagen 2011 and newer. We will supply
temporary plates should you decide
to fly in and drive the GTI home.
I'm open for all reasonable offers in case you don't like to wait for the auction to end!!
This GTI has been completely restored and has passed a Virginia Salvage
Inspection.
THIS JETTA HAS NOW A CLEAR TITLE THAT REQUIRES NO ADDITIONAL STEPS AT THE DMV. Check my other auctions because we
have many other cars for sale!!
If I get a
reasonable offer before the auction ends I will cancel all bids and sell
the car. It is also for sale on our lot. If this is something you're
interested in, don't wait for the auction because many of my listed cars sell before the actual auction ends!!!
Please view all the Photobucket photos as there are a lot more then
the eBay photos I listed!!

In August, 2009, as the scuttled merger of Porsche and Volkswagen had gone bad and Porsche was backed up against the ropes, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (PAHSE) relinquished a ten-percent stake in itself to Qatar Holdings as well as options it held on 17 percent of VW shares. The sale meant that, for the first time since the founding of the company 61 years before, an entity outside the Porsche and Piech families had a say in the running of PAHSE.
Buying that ten-percent stake back returns full ownership to the two families, the holding company's sole possession being ownership of 50.7 percent of VW's common shares. The price paid wasn't disclosed, but at market rates the purchase would be worth close to $1.25 billion. Qatar intends to hold onto the 17-percent stake it has in Volkswagen.

Reports in October 2012 claimed Volkswagen had begun investigating the creation of its own budget brand. This came after having failed to purchase Malaysian car company Proton or produce a meaningful partnership with Suzuki, and after watching Renault-Nissan make piles of euro on Dacia and plot the return of Datsun.
For VW, more important than the question of what to call it was how to build it profitably and in a way that didn't damage the VW brand. According to a report in Autocar, a satisfactory answer still hasn't been found. The hurdle is how to hit "'necessary' quality and safety levels" at the price points needed to make the venture worthwhile. At the time of the 2012 report, German outlet Der Spiegel said VW was trying to get prices down to 6,000 to 8,000 euro ($7,784 to $10,379 US), about two thousand to four thousand euro under the price of the VW Up and in line with the cost of a 6,790-euro Dacia Sandero in Germany.
In March 2013, VW announced, "We want to bring a true budget car to the market in China in the foreseeable future," the most concrete move in that direction after years of planning to make a decision. Working with local Chinese maker FAW, it was predicted that the vehicle in question would appear around 2016, but as of November last year a final vote on it needed to wait until this year because "We are still working on the cost side" and profit possibilities for a car that "has to be durable, it has to be precise, it has to be safe."
