2007 Volkswagen Gti Base Hatchback 2-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Kansas City, Missouri, United States
I'm the 2nd owner since the car had 25,500 miles. Adult owned for almost 4 years. VWoA just replaced the DSG with a new one at 79k miles because of a VW dealership's carelessness during a transmission service. Car is APR stage 1 (stock,91,93,100), all new Goodridge SS lines with StopTech slotted rotors and StopTech street pads changed out around 79k. Solo-werks coilovers installed around 82k. Car has 17" Audi RS replica wheels with all-season Cooper RS3-A tires with approximately 3500 miles. All black textured trim has been changed to the rare VW OEM Thunderbunny sideskirts and Thunderbunny rear bumper. Front lip is a smoothed OEM candy white Jetta lip. Transformation started when someone rear ended me at about 5mph. I opted for the bumper, then changed the lip when the front bumper was replaced after shredded tire road debris. Also replaced were cam follower (replaced at 75k) and most recently revised diverter valve and valve cover. Interior cloth is in great shape. Car was already tinted when I purchased it, doors are around 35% and the rear is just about as dark as it gets. Sunroof works perfectly, no problems. Car has been waxed twice yearly during my 4 year ownership and the HID headlight plastic is clear as new and no hazing. Synthetic oil changes every 5,000 miles and not the recommended 10k by VW. All recalls have been performed and I just replaced the air filter and an oil change. DSG service occurs every 40k and won't be needed until the car reaches 120,000 miles.
My entire reason for selling is because I'm moving to an all-year-round summer climate and I'm wanting to get back into a roadster. This car has been great and a blast to drive. Very quick with the tune, better handling with new suspension and brakes way better than the stock rotors and pads. I've had quite a bit of Vag-com work done. The two key fobs can control driver and passenger side windows (up and down) in addition to closing the sunroof. The rear hatch release button on the key fobs has been activated that was not an option in the U.S. The HID Xenon headlights have been turned off as daytime running lights and the fog lights have been turned on as daytime running lights. Also, had the seat belt chime turned off in case you don't like wearing a seat belt (which I don't recommend). I live in Kansas City but from St. Louis which is where my loan is located. The car can be picked up in either city once payment clears. |

Bentley considering diesel engine for new SUV
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Turns out, in case you didn't know, the rich are just like regular people. They too are concerned about the environment, even when tooling around town in their super-luxurious Bentleys. So the automaker is weighing the idea of offering a diesel engine in its SUV offering, which could help satisfy customers' demands for more fuel-efficient engines.
Chairman and CEO Wolfgang Schreiber told Autoblog in a roundtable interview at the Geneva Auto Show that the automaker is researching whether or not a diesel engine makes sense for the brand. Bentley, owned by the Volkswagen Group, could in theory use a diesel engine from anywhere in the Volkswagen Group family. We at Autoblog have hopes they'll revive the V10 TDI used in the VW Touareg until 2010, but ever-stricter emissions laws would likely make that problematic.
But rich people aren't so much like us that they'll be worried about petty things like pricing. Schreiber admitted the diesel engine could be a $15,000 option, which he said customers would probably find "acceptable." Given that the cheapest Bentley today starts at $177,000, typical customers probably won't be diddling around worrying about an extra 15 grand.
Audi CVT suit settlement given green light, 64,000 cars covered
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Audi drivers, listen up. If you bought or leased a 2002-06 model-year A4 or A6 with a factory-installed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that failed, you may be entitled to reimbursement under a recently settled class-action lawsuit with corporate parent Volkswagen.
According to Automotive News, the settlement covers about 64,000 vehicles and alleges that "manufacturing and design problems caused the transmissions to fail and left owners stuck with repair costs." While the suit also argues Audi was aware of these issues (going so far as to hide that knowledge from consumers), the settlement stops short of acknowledging any wrongdoing by the German automaker.
Audi drivers are eligible for a cash reimbursement if their CVT repairs occurred within 10 years or 100,000 miles of the date they bought or leased the vehicle before June 19, 2013. To be eligible for compensation, drivers must submit a claim form (found here) with supporting documents by November 18.
Ecotricity offering 1,000 free EV miles to new customers
Thu, Feb 13 2014Ecotricity is offering electric vehicle drivers in the United Kingdom an lengthy incentive for using green energy: 1,000 miles of free fast charging per year. Called "Green Electricity + Car," the program will power customers' homes with renewable power allow them to charge their cars through Ecotricity's national network of fast chargers, which the company has named the Electric Highway. It makes complete sense for Ecotricity. "To get the greatest environmental benefit from an electric car, it needs to be charged using 100 percent green electricity from the wind and the sun – otherwise you're still powering it from dirty fossil fuels," wrote Dale Vince, founder of Ecotricity. Ecotricity, a UK-based producer of green energy, wants to bring fast charging to 90 percent of highway service stations around the UK in the near future and four fast chargers are installed per week under the Electric Highway campaign, the company says. Users can fast charge their EVs in 20-to-30 minutes. Ecotricity recently instituted a price freeze for all gas and electricity customers until April 1, reducing energy costs below what's being billed by the country's "Big Six" energy companies. Green Electricity + Car coincides with Volkswagen bringing its electric e-Up! to the British market. Volkswagen Group (UK) Limited imports VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda brand vehicles and has signed a deal with Ecotricity as its official green energy supplier. Volkswagen Group customers purchasing an EV through one of its brands can take advantage of a new, reduced-cost Ecotricity tariff and a free smart meter installation. 08 February 2014 Green Electricity + Car Drivers of electric cars will receive 1,000 free miles every year with a new electricity tariff being launched by green energy company Ecotricity. Green Electricity + Car – will not only power customers homes with green energy but also their cars (either 100% electric or plug-in hybrids), plus they'll get free access to Ecotricity's national network of fast chargers[1] – the Electric Highway. This latest move comes after Ecotricity announced a price freeze for all gas and electricity customers until the end of winter (April 1st), making them cheaper[2] than the standard tariff of the Big Six energy companies.
