RUNS GREAT! PURCHASED FROM ORIGINAL OWNER AT 92,OOO MILES IN 2006-07. 48MPH IS REACHABLE ON HIGHWAYS, 45MPH IN CITIES.
BODY IS TIGHT, WITH NO MAJOR DENTS. BUT DINGS/CHIPS AND SCRATCHES EXIST AND PAINT IS FADED ON HOOD AND ROOF, FRONT W/S GLASS IS CRACKED DUE TO COLORADO DRIVING. CAN EASILY BE MADE GREAT LOOKING AGAIN OR CAN KEEP AS IS FOR A DEPENDABLE DAILY DRIVER. TRIM ISSUES: 1. PLENUM PANEL (PLASTIC) AND 2. DASH CUP HOLDER (PLASTIC) BOTH BROKEN.
WOULD NOT HESITATE TO DRIVE CROSS COUNTRY IN THIS GREAT CAR FORM WHERE IT SITS. SOLD 'AS IS WHERE IS' UNLESS DELIVERY IS NEEDED. IF SO, THEN DELIVERY TERMS MUST BE REACHED BETWEEN BUYER AND SELLER, OR WE DEFAULT BACK TO 'AS IS WHERE IS'.
A/C ALWAYS WORKED GREAT BUT STOPPED SUDDENLY LATE LAST SUMMER. MAINTENENCE FOLLOWED REGULARLY SCHEDULED UPKEEP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ALWAYS SYNTHETIC OIL CHANGES (EVERY 10K), REGULAR TIMING BELT CHANGES ALONG WITH THE RECOMMENDED WATER PUMP REPLACEMENTS AT THE SAME TIME (EVERY 60-80K OR SO, LAST COMPLETED AT AROUND 150K) , TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGE, ETC., ALL DONE BY LOCAL CERTIFIED TDI MECHANIC.
VERY RECENTLY REPLACED BATTERY, GLOW PLUGS, BOTH COOLING FANS, THEIR MODULE AND RELAY IN EFFORT TO FIX A/C. STILL DIDN'T GET A/C WORKING. FRONT LAMPS' BULBS REPLACED LESS RECENTLY, BUT WITH 30% BRIGHER BULBS, ETC.
I RECENTLY BOUGHT A NEW JETTA TDI CLEAN DIESEL, AND HAVE A JEEP AND PICK UP TRUCK; SO I NEED TO SELL THE GOLF.
PHOTO OF MILEAGE SHOWS GOLF RUNNING, NO WARNING LIGHTS, IDLING PERFECTLY, ETC. ANOTHER PHOTO SHOWS A LINE ON DRIVER'S SIDE, WHICH IS ONLY A REFLECTION OF OVERHEAD POWER LINE. TAPE STRIPES DO EXIST ON BOTH SIDES. BOTH SIDE VIEWS AND REAR OF CAR ARE GOOD, WITH SHINY PAINT, ETC. FRONT HOOD AND ROOF ARE DULLER.
HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY OTHER QUESTIONS.
THANKS FOR LOOKING AND HAPPY BIDDING.

Defying Trump, major automakers finalize California emissions deal
Tue, Aug 18 2020WASHINGTON — The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and major automakers on Monday confirmed they had finalized binding agreements to cut vehicle emissions in the state, defying the Trump administration's push for weaker curbs on tailpipe pollution. The agreements with carmakers Ford Motor Co, Volkswagen AG, Honda Motor Co and BMW AG were first announced in July 2019 as voluntary measures prompting anger from U.S. President Donald Trump. A month later, the Justice Department opened an antitrust probe into the agreements. The government ended the investigation without action. The Trump administration in March finalized a rollback of U.S. vehicle emissions standards to require 1.5% annual increases in efficiency through 2026. That is far weaker than the 5% annual increases in the discarded rules adopted under President Barack Obama. The 50-page California agreements, which extend through 2026, are less onerous than the standards finalized by the Obama administration but tougher than the Trump administration standards. The automakers have also agreed to electric vehicle commitments. Volvo Cars, owned by China's Geely Holdings, said in March it planned to join the automakers agreeing to the California requirements. It has also finalized its agreement. The settlement agreements say California and automakers agreed to resolve "potential legal disputes concerning the authority of CARB" and other states that have adopted California's standards. In May, a group of 23 U.S. states led by California and some major cities, challenged the Trump vehicle emissions rule. Other major automakers like General Motors Co, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Toyota Motor Corp did not join the California agreement. Those companies also sided with the Trump administration in a separate lawsuit over whether the federal government can strip California of the right to set zero emission vehicle requirements. Ford said the "final agreement will reduce emissions in our vehicles at a more stringent rate, support and incentivize the production of electrified products, and create regulatory certainty." BMW said "by setting these long-term, predictable, and achievable standards, we have the regulatory certainty that is necessary for long-term planning that will not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but ultimately benefit consumers as well."Â
Ex-Fiat exec: VW diesel scandal will hurt plug-in hybrids
Thu, Apr 7 2016It doesn't sound right at first blush, but former Fiat executive and noted diesel-powertrain expert Rinaldo Rinolfi thinks that plug-in hybrid sales may be more impacted by the VW diesel-emissions scandal than diesel sales. Rinolfi, who worked for Fiat for 40 years, told Automotive News Europe, said that the Euro 6 emissions rules that went into effect in 2015 have already increased diesel-engine production costs enough to raise prices and ultimately flatten demand. By the end of the decade, diesel-vehicle sales will settle in at a 40-percent market share of new European vehicles, and that was going to happen with or without the scandal. "Every carmaker has found ways to achieve fuel consumption and emissions results that have progressively diverged from the real driving conditions." - Rinaldo Rinolfi Makers of plug-in hybrids have more to lose, though, because every PHEV maker has figured out a way to keep emissions figures artificially low, Rinolfi said. Under New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) standards, PHEVs can be tested part of the time with the electric motor in action, meaning emissions get driven down to 30 percent to 40 percent less than real-world figures. With the VW scandal pushing regulators to use real-world figures, those PHEV emissions numbers are expected to rise substantially. To a lesser extent, hybrid emissions figures are also tested as artificially low. "Over the years, even without defeat devices, every carmaker has found ways to achieve fuel consumption and emissions results that have progressively diverged from the real driving conditions the customer experiences," Rinolfi said in the Automotive News Europe interview. Rinolfi is a little sunnier about compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles, estimating that CNG emissions are as much as 25 percent lower compared to conventional vehicles. As for battery-electrics, he's not so optimistic, estimating that there needs to be at least a tenfold improvement in energy efficiency for EVs to be truly competitive with conventional vehicles. "I've been waiting for a true breakthrough for the past 25 years, but I've not seen it yet," Rinolfi said about EVs in the Automotive News Europe interview. VW Group recalls 27k Touaregs, Audis and Porsches for fuel leak
Tue, Jan 27 2015The Volkswagen Group is one of the most expansive in the entire industry, and shares parts across more product lines than we could wrap our heads around. So when the German megalith finds a fault in one of its components, it has the capacity to spread like wildfire. The latest set of recall notices from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration covers vehicles from the Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche divisions. The problem revolves around the fuel injection system, which could potentially leak and cause a fire. The recall affects – deep breath now – the 2012 VW Touareg Hybrid, the 2011-12 Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid and Panamera S Hybrid, 2011-12 Audi S4, S5 and Q7 and the 2012-13 Audi A7. All told, that amounts to 27,376 units, the owners of which can expect to hear from the manufacturer to have the fuel rails replaced, along with their corresponding seals (having nothing to do with marine mammals writing letters). RECALL Subject : Fuel Injection System Fuel Leak Report Receipt Date: JAN 20, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V019000 Component(s): FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE Potential Number of Units Affected: 26,008 Manufacturer: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. SUMMARY: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Audi S4, S5, Q7, 2012 Audi A6, Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid, and 2012-2013 Audi A7 vehicles. In the affected vehicles the fuel injection system may experience a fuel leak. CONSEQUENCE: A fuel leak in the injection system in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of a fire. REMEDY: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel rails and corresponding seals, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 10, 2015. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-822-2834 or Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298. Volkswagen's numbers for this recall are 24AP for Audi customers and 24BK for Volkswagen customers. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov. ### RECALL Subject : Fuel Injection System may Leak Report Receipt Date: JAN 20, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V016000 Component(s): ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Potential Number of Units Affected: 1,368 Manufacturer: Porsche Cars North America, Inc.
