1995 Volkswagen Eurovan Camper Van Camper on 2040-cars
Houston, Texas, United States
The van runs very well. We use it as an everyday driver and are selling it because we do not use the camping features and would like to get a regular cargo van. The van is 20 years old and needs an owner who understands that it is a project, in that it requires regular maintenance and gradually restoring it. I am including all of the factory service manuals and I have extensive service records for it, as I have been the owner for the last 8 years having bought it from the original owner.
The camper's heater, stove top, water pump/sink, interior lighting, and plumbing are in great shape. I have never used the refrigerator and the door is weathering. There is no rust on the van. The Camper top is in good condition (no cracks). Cosmetically it does have body damage above the back drivers side wheel and various dings and small dents. The tires are in good condition and two of them are near new. I had extensive transmission service last year. There is not a leak of oil/transmission fluid anywhere under the car. The van has never overheated and I have replaced the timing belt and tensioner. The van has a new battery and starts every time. Please see the condition report above for list of defects. I have always used synthetic Castrol 5-40 motor oil. Please email me specific question or call me at 832 302 5494 and I will spend as much time as you need discussing the van. Skoda Octavia vRS is just the thing for your pumped-up neighborhood
Fri, 26 Jul 2013Skoda, oh Skoda. You're just so cool. Maybe it's the fact that it's a brand that we don't get in these United States, but Skoda's rebadged Volkswagens, in particular the new Octavia vRS shown here, are just different enough from the hum-drum VWs on our shores that the Czech brand seems strangely desirable. Maybe we're just craving forbidden fruit.
This short, minute-long spot covers the new vRS in a world of excess, where strollers ride on 26-inch wheels, lawnmowers feature V8 engines and ice cream cones are the size of toddlers. As things often go in these ads, the Octavia vRS draws the eyes of passerby that are seemingly use to things far more ridiculous than a reasonably priced Czech sedan. In reality, the Octavia should be fairly familiar to American buyers. It uses the same 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-pot found in the Volkswagen GTI and Jetta GLI, with 217 horsepower, and sits on the same platform as the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf. Take a look at the full spot, below.
VW and partner SAIC start building $2.5B Audi plant in China
Fri, Oct 19 2018BEIJING — Volkswagen AG's China joint venture with SAIC Motor Corp has started building a $2.5 billion new energy vehicle (NEV) plant in Shanghai, which will make VW's luxury Audi brand cars, a possible first for the venture. The new plant is a key step for Audi to diversify production of its cars in the world's largest car market from its long-standing local partner, China FAW Group Corp. This shift has been delayed amid resistance from local dealers. SAIC Volkswagen said the new plant would have an annual capacity to make 300,000 cars and begin production from 2020. Audi sold 481,387 vehicles in China from January to September this year. The announcement comes the same week Tesla secured a Shanghai location for a Gigafactory battery plant to serve the Chinese market. Audi unveiled the plan to bolster ties with SAIC in late 2016. Earlier this year, the Germany luxury carmaker bought a 1 percent stake in the SAIC Volkswagen venture, paving the way for the joint venture to produce and sell Audi cars. Volkswagen currently gets a larger proportion of the proceeds from the 50-50 tie-up with SAIC than from its 40 percent stake in the venture with FAW. SAIC Volkswagen said in a statement on Friday the plant would cost 17 billion yuan ($2.5 billion) and would make VW and Skoda models as well as Audi cars. It will help VW tap China's fast-growing market for NEVs, a category comprising electric battery cars and plug-in electric hybrid vehicles. Volkswagen Tiguan and Touareg take the R-Line
Mon, 14 Jan 2013
Volkswagen's Detroit Auto Show presence is big on utility this year, with the CrossBlue three-row concept vehicle occupying the lion's share of the limelight, both literally and figuratively. But that isn't stopping Volkswagen from lavishing attention on its already established crossover and sport utility vehicles with new R-Line derivatives. The Tiguan and its big brother Touareg are getting a host of look-faster items to increase their sporting appeal.
On the outside, the Tiguan R-Line receives handsome 19-inch alloys peering out from beneath fender extensions, premium lighting (bi-Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lamps), along with matching side skirts and a liftgate spoiler. On the inside, sportier accommodations include aluminum trim and a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters. As with other R-Line models, there are no powertrain modifications to go with the more aggressive visuals (that being the province of R standalone performance models like the R32), though the suspension has been firmed up an unspecified amount. The Tiguan R-Line will be available in front- or all-wheel drive configuration.
