Selling a 1995 Eurovan Camper Winnebago pop top van. This one comes with the kitchen, sink, waste water, fresh water tanks, propane tanks, fridge, 2 batteries, shower, fold down bed, central heating and is a manual transmission.  The water pump for the sink and shower work perfectly.  The propane burners work good too, also in the video below,  the burners are shown and they are dirty, not rusted as it might seem.   The passenger seat swivels around so you can turn around and mingle with the passengers.   There are two collapsible tables for the inside that store next to the refrigerator.  The tires are in good condition with plenty of thread left.  It has new brakes in all 4 wheels.  It was recently taken to a mechanic, and he said that the clutch has some play and may need to be replaced in the future.  The actual tent is in good condition with no tears and the zippers work good. All the blinds and curtains on the windows are present and also work.  They have no tears as well.

The upper bed is missing a panel, that's the way I got it, however I saw a few of them for sale on some websites for $200.  If you win the auction, i'll steer you on where you can get it.  Also, It does not come with the foam bedding. These things are easily replaceable.

It has a salvage title from a collision. I got it from an auction and had it fixed up for my dad.  He was big into camping for about a month then lost interest in camping altogether.  We got this van with no intention of selling it, however it just happened that way.   Please verify that salvage titles are registarable in your state.  For example, in Texas it is allowed and actually very easy to register such title.   Right now it is registered under my name and I have the Texas title in hand.

Everything runs and works on it. 132,XXX original miles. It has a Texas rebuilt/salvage title, and is currently registered under my name. I use it every other weekend. The van is in El Paso Texas.

See YouTube video of the actual van taken on Feb 26 2013-->http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Y9JMSAFt0s&feature=youtu.be

As per shipping the vehicle, it is the buyers responsibility to arrange the shipping or pick up of the vehicle.  If you have any questions, please contact me first.  I might drive it your direction if you are in the southwest for $0.85/mile.

I will require a non-refundable $500 though Paypal 24 hours after the auction end and the remainder in a cashiers check personally or a direct deposit to my bank.  If you have any questions, contact me first.

I am selling this van in good faith.  I am comfortable letting my elderly dad cruise the USA in this thing, so rest assured it is a good van.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me and i'll reply as soon as I get a chance.  Thank you and happy bidding!!!

Crash test videos show how rust compromises safety

Fri, Apr 13 2018

These recently released Swedish videos serve as a reminder that rust isn't just a cosmetic flaw, when it comes to cars. The insurance company Folksam and the homeowner organization Villaagarnas Riksforbund gathered examples of two relatively popular, but by now rusty cars, and then performed crash tests with them at the Thatcham Research facility in Britain. The results are sobering. The rustier cars chosen for the tests were first-generation Mazda6s, cars that have a reputation for early-onset rust in salty surroundings, such as the Nordic countries in Europe or the Salt Belt in the U.S. The cars in the other end of the spectrum were fifth-generation Volkswagen Golfs, which thanks to their body treatment only really start to show rust at over ten years old. But rust isn't just on the surface, it goes bone deep. While the Mazda did decently well in Euro NCAP testing as a new car, there's now a 20 percent higher risk of death in the 2003-2008 Mazda due to the degradation of its bodyshell. In the rusty car, the chassis rail separates from the floor, the footwell ruptures, the sill gives way, the seat mountings move and the dummy's head hits the B-pillar; all important failures, despite Thatcham saying the cars actually performed better in the crashes than they expected with all the rust. But still, the corroded structure isn't able to transmit loads in the way it was originally designed to do. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The Golf does significantly better — despite rust flakes flying when the Golf hits the wall — as the years have only caused it to lose a single point. An important thing to remember is that the cars aren't tested in comparison to corresponding new, 2018 cars: the tests are in reference to the crashworthiness standards in place when they were new. The cars' airbags inflate like they were supposed to, but on the Mazda the dummy's head bottoms out the airbag due to the car's structure failing, meaning the airbag cannot perform as designed. Driven cautiously, an older car is still mostly fine for driving around. But tests like these remind us that it's not enough that a car runs and drives, if the body has turned into Swedish knackebrod. And if you repair the visible rust and the structure underneath remains as compromised as ever, there's an ugly truth under all the bondo. Perhaps it isn't such a bad idea to have yearly roadworthiness inspections.

VW confirms Audi's emissions test transmission anomalies

Mon, Nov 14 2016

Just a week after reports that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) found an emissions cheat in some Audi automatic transmission software programs, parent company Volkswagen has come clean. As reported by Reuters, VW's response to an article by Munich's Sueddeutsche Zeitung stated that the adaptive shift functionality can "lead to incorrect and non-reproducible results." Adaptive shift programs alter the characteristics of a vehicle's transmission to suit different driving styles. Gentle driving will result in earlier shifts and lower engine revs, while hard-charging on the pedals and steering will make the transmission more responsive and hold gears longer. That adaptation can change over time or even on a short-term basis. And it can save fuel. The difference in this case is that is seems that the Audi transmissions were specifically programmed to detect emissions test conditions. As we explained in a previous article, one of those test conditions is keeping the wheel straight. Turning more than 15 degrees shuts the test mode off. According to Reuters, the US government is trying to determine whether this classifies as an emissions cheat device, although VW, Audi, and the EPA have not commented on the record. This latest accusation is separate from the larger VW diesel emissions scandal. Related Video: Image Credit: Getty Editorial Government/Legal Green Audi Volkswagen Emissions vw diesel scandal

2016 Volkswagen Golf TDI SportWagen Review

Tue, Sep 1 2015

You might think that after driving a Dodge Challenger Hellcat during the week of the Woodward Dream Cruise, seven days with a diesel-powered Volkswagen Golf SportWagen would be a letdown. You know, like following a shot of Jack Daniels with a sippy cup of Metamucil. But it ended up being perfect timing. Right at the end of my Challenger loan, I signed my name what felt like 1,241 times, handed over a very, very large check, and officially bought my first home. The SportWagen arrived on moving day, and I set about putting the longroof's hauling ability to the ultimate test, schlepping everything I own to my very first house. SportWagens, like Metamucil, can often be very good for you. The wagon's cargo area isn't dramatically bigger than the standard Golf – 30.4 cubic feet versus 22.8 – unless you fold the second row down. With the seats flat, the Golf SportWagen's advantage nearly doubles, to 66.5 cubic feet. But it's not just the extra space that makes moving things a lot easier. The rear hatch is more defined and sits atop a lower bumper. The load height is just 24.8 inches, while the tailgate opens to an aperture of 40.6 inches. It also opens high enough that your six-foot, one-inch author can stand tall below it. The load height is just 24.8 inches, while the tailgate opens to an aperture of 40.6 inches. In short, loading stuff into the back was a breeze. While you might expect the Golf SportWagen to make short work of a bunch of boxes, it was easy to add larger items into the mix. I hauled nightstands, a large desk chair, and even all four pieces of a king-size IKEA bed frame with a minimal amount of fuss. That said, Volkswagen uses nice materials in the cargo compartment of the Golf, so if you frequently move a lot of stuff, expect to see visible wear sooner rather than later. If you prefer to move people instead of things, rest easy knowing the wagon mimics the Golf hatchback's 35.6 inches of rear legroom. Moving locally meant a lot of back-and-forth trips. Between the actual move itself and the subsequent running around, I put 600 miles on the Golf SportWagen during my week-long loan. But with this car, I could have done way more and wouldn't have found cause to complain. It's the little details that make the Golf feel premium. The Golf's cabin is a great place to be.
