Greetings, Ladies and Gentlemen, what you have here is a very nice 1993 VW EuroVan MV Pop Top Camper with 11,665 miles on a rebuilt engine! There is 136,500 total miles on the odometer. I am a expert mechanic and have gone through this nice EuroVan Camper thoroughly to provide the new owners with years of trouble free camping memories and motoring enjoyment.
What I have done to ready this EuroVan, for a new owner, includes/
1. I bought it with the rebuilt engine. Have documentation.
2. I just replaced the drive axles. They are brand new.
3. I just replaced the clutch and release bearing in the 5 sp. manual transmission. It is brand new.
4. I just had the Van repainted. The paint job is brand new.
5. I just replaced the tires. They are brand new.
She is ready to ride and drive. Runs and drives flawlessly.
There are a 2 nit picky tasks that are left, that need to be done, for total completion. They are small in time and cost. I unfortunately, have run low on funds, so, I cannot complete these tasks, my loss will be your gain. The few things that are left to be done are./
1. The tachometer, fuel and temp guages in the instument cluster do not work. This is a very common fault in the 1993/1995 EuroVan. It is a easy fix. The problem is fixed by replacing the voltage regulator in the instrument cluster. Any Volkwagen Dealership or a mechanic that specializes in Volswagen, is familiar with this common fault and it's fix. They will charge you around 2 shop hours for the repair, or you can simply replace with a cluster from another EuroVan at a salvage for a low cost option. The speedometer, odometer and tripometer work fine. EuroVans get 20MPG, so I mentally note how many gallons of fuel I buy, and then refuel when the tripometer gets to the appropriate mileage, therefore I haven't ever ran out of fuel.
2. The A/C needs service. Most likely just needs a recharge. I haven't the funds to look into it (does one really need A/C in the mountains anyway?).
That's it, besides those 2 mentioned items, she is mechanically flawless. All the exspensive work has been done. Almost new engine, new clutch, new tires, new paint job and new drive axles. Ready for summer camping.
In this condition, with those 2 aftermentioned items fixed, the Van is worth a solid $10,000 to $12,000. The Van has the much desired 5sp manual transmission (this option was only available on the 1993 and 1995 model years).
Since I haven't the funds to fix the 2 minor items left, I am selling at a discount. $9,000 O.B.O. Need to sell, make a decent offer.
You can buy a rust bucket with 250,000 miles on it and nothing replaced or new (let alone a new paint job) for $7000/$6500 or you can buy this nice example for a little more and not only save money, in the long run, you can drive for years without worry as well.
I am in the Denver area. Will travel up to 100 mile radius from Denver for free to the new owner. You will not be dissapointed. She is as mechanically sound as you can get.
Call me at 405/779/3724 with any questions you may wish to ask. You will not be dissapointed. Thank You, Nathan Gresham

Regulators consider adding more carmakers to Takata recall
Tue, Sep 29 2015Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal has been getting a lot of press recently, but the Takata airbag inflator affair could be grabbing headlines again soon. According to Bloomberg, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is contemplating an expansion to the campaign that could add seven automakers to the 12 already affected. They are Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Spartan Motors, Suzuki, Tesla, Volvo Trucks, and VW Group. To be clear, there's no recall for any of these automakers, yet. The government is simply asking for a full list of vehicles that each of them have with Takata-supplied inflators containing ammonium nitrate propellant. The agency is concerned this substance could play a roll in the ruptures. "NHTSA is considering not only whether to issue an administrative order that would coordinate the remedy programs associated with the current Takata recalls, but also whether such an order should include expansion of the current recalls," the letters say. All seven can be viewed, here. From a report supplied by Takata, the government already knows that the company supplied 887,055 inflators with ammonium-nitrate propellant to VW and 184,926 of them to Tesla. In an incident during the summer, a side airbag allegedly burst in a 2015 VW Tiguan. In early September, NHTSA put out a revised report that there were 23.4 million inflators to be replaced in 19.2 million vehicles in the US. An earlier accounting from the agency had about 34 million of the parts in 30 million cars. High humidity is still believed to be among the biggest risk factors for the ruptures. Although, if ammonium nitrate also gets the blame, some already recalled models might need to be repaired again. Related Video:
Porsche-Piech buy 10% stake in VW's holding company
Tue, 18 Jun 2013In August, 2009, as the scuttled merger of Porsche and Volkswagen had gone bad and Porsche was backed up against the ropes, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (PAHSE) relinquished a ten-percent stake in itself to Qatar Holdings as well as options it held on 17 percent of VW shares. The sale meant that, for the first time since the founding of the company 61 years before, an entity outside the Porsche and Piech families had a say in the running of PAHSE.
Buying that ten-percent stake back returns full ownership to the two families, the holding company's sole possession being ownership of 50.7 percent of VW's common shares. The price paid wasn't disclosed, but at market rates the purchase would be worth close to $1.25 billion. Qatar intends to hold onto the 17-percent stake it has in Volkswagen.
Are more diesel scandals about to erupt?
Fri, Nov 20 2015More automakers may soon be embroiled, like Volkswagen, in diesel emissions scandals. According to the Daily Kanban, either the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) or the Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) will soon announce from 10 to 15 more cases of automakers cheating national diesel emissions rules. The outlet says three of the incidents are attributed to Opel. Studies conducted by the DUH, the University of Applied Sciences in Bern, Switzerland, and the UK's Leeds University found that Opel's diesel Zafira, Corsa, and Vectra models emit more NOx than European regulations allow when tested in ways that go beyond the European testing protocol, such as when done on a four-wheel rolling road instead of a two-wheel rolling road. Opel said the accusations had no merit. Specifically on the Zafira, the DUH asked Opel about the emissions findings, and Opel said that no General Motors software contains any measures to enable cheating. Opel then tested a Zafira of its own "both on a two- and a four-wheel roller dynamometer," finding that "The emission behavior determined in each case does not differ from one another." That makes this a case of he-said-she-said for the moment. The Daily Kanban's sources say the cheating methods "range from the crude to the highly sophisticated," with those at the latter end complex enough to render Volkswagen's methods "pedestrian." As for any automakers who might be named, the matter of real-world emissions exceeding a legal limit doesn't mean a carmaker has designed systems that cheat, it might mean the company designed the car to pass a test.
