Wonderful 1969 Vw Bus

Many Upgrades & New Parts Added to enhance your driving buzz!

I aquired this bus locally in S. Florida. It was originally from California.
The body was in excellent shape for its age.
This Bus received a full work up from top to bottom.
I will do a rundown of all work performed.
I have driven it for over a year now. All finishing work such as paint and
suspension etc were all performed within a few months ago.

Engine: Engine is original stock 1600 single port.
The engine was rebuilt buy the previous owner.
They did not detail the tins and components but the motor
runs excellent and drips no oil ( if thats possible).
I installed an original bosch vacuum distributor
I also installed a new carb to air cleaner rubber neck.
New Pic 30/31 Solex Oem carb.
The battery is new and the voltage reg is a new bosch.
The engine is correct and the way it was in 69.

The transmission was upgraded with a rebuilt late model trans out of
a late 70's bus. It has a better ring and pinion and it shifts smoother too.
Much better trans than stock.

Suspension: The entire suspension system is new.
Front: New Disc Brakes off of a 72 Bus. New rotors calipers and pads.
New tie rods. New Ball Joints top and bottom. New drag link, New hoses for brakes New snubbers and sway bar bushings, Kyb Shocks. Basically everything was replaced with New.

The Rear: The same with the rear. New Cv Joints, Rebuilt Drum brake system, Kyb Shocks , hoses, etc.

All German parts were used, no chinese stuff.

The Body, A new paint job was added. Premium Primer and Topcoat.
Refinished in Original Montana Red With Cloud White.

Seals:  All New Seals Throughout: All windows, slider, hatch, engine, lenses, etc etc.

The side vent windows were replaced with original VW Sliders Out of a late model bus. Really nice air flow and hard to find.

A New deluxe Trim Kit was added to the perimeter of the belt line.
It's stunning and really sets this bus off.

The glass is in excellent shape on this bus

The entire undercarriage was refinished in the stock grey that was used at the factory. It was also primered.

A Custom original style stereo was added. At the cost of $240. It looks old but went into the stock uncut dash and it has usb and aux hookup with digital display. Super cool. Alpine front speakers and kicker in the rear speakers under the seat set in original seat base plate.

Interior: Way Cool interior custom done by me. Door panels were a new kit covered in a dashiki type print. Original arm rests are still attached.

A 48 star 1930's flag hangs from the ceiling. The original headliner is still there. It is in decent shape but has a couple holes. New hatch covers installed.

New front rubber mat, Original mid section rubber mat is there and in good Shape. A nice multicovered rug is over it.

Very cool spiral beads hang over the walk through entrance way.

The rear seat was recovered in original smurf print material.

The inside is way cool and really takes you back. The custom Hippy print curtains also set this bus way off.

Back to driving. This bus drives absolutely excellent. It tracks straight at 65 and never lets up. Suspension is better than new and is super reliable turnkey everytime.

I have added 4 new white wall tires, mounted on original 15" Vw rims off an early split window. There is also a spare with original Vw Cover.

The original jack is also included.

All guages work and all functions work too. I installed a custom Tach mounted to the dash. It can be removed and I did not cut anything.

Wipers, all lights, turn signals, hazards, horn, etc etc work properly.

It is really a one of a kind bus and whomever wins will be very happy. No dissapointments here. This bus is everything and more. Many cool upgrades and many many new parts. A lot of time and money was put in to restoring this bus.
The paint is super smooth and was polished to perfection

Being sold at No Reserve.

Lamborghini and Bentley may hold off on SUVs so VW can conserve cash

Thu, 11 Oct 2012

After surveying the European economic scene, Volkswagen may have decided now is not the time to launch utility vehicles with Bentley and Lamborghini badges. Bentley officials say they will continue to push for support for the EXP 9 F and Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelman has said planning for the Urus will continue until VW tells it to stop.
That decision could come on November 23, when VW's board will vote on the company's budget for equipment, factories and vehicles. With VW's sales slowing and the Euro economy slumping further, some industry watchers say the company is more likely to build its cash reserves than to introduce super-expensive luxury SUVs or crossovers.
"Such vehicles are anything but obligatory during a crisis," says Frankfurt-based Equinet AG analyst Tim Schuldt in a new Automotive News Europe story. "Delaying their launch would be no drama but help save costs."

Chrysler slows minivan production, hasn't built VW Routan this year

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

Chrysler has slowed production of its Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans this week, Automotive News reports. The Windsor, Ontario plant will cut its three shifts from eight hours each to four hours each in an effort "to align production with market demand," a Chrysler spokesperson told AN. Chrysler also builds the closely related Routan minivan for Volkswagen at its Ontario facility, but has not built a single example thus far in 2013.
Sales of Chrysler's minivans fell 15 percent for the first two months of 2013, and a large part of that has to do with the 26-percent drop of the Grand Caravan alone (the T&C was only down by one percent). According to Automotive News data, as of March 1, Chrysler had an unsold inventory of 24,713 Town and Country models and 18,547 Grand Caravans - a 69- and 43-day supply, respectively.
"No sense running full speed now, then have a lot of vehicles sitting around a few months down the line," Chrysler spokeswoman Jodi Tinson told AN. Full production is expected to resume again on March 18.

Ferdinand Piech (1937-2019): The man who made VW global

Tue, Aug 27 2019

Towering among his peers, a giant of the auto industry died Sunday night in Rosenheim/Upper Bavaria, Germany. Ferdinand Piech, a grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, who conceived the original Volkswagen in the 1930s, was the most polarizing automotive executive of our times. And one who brought automotive technology further than anyone else. Ferdinand Porsche had a son, Ferdinand (called "Ferry"), and a daughter, Louise, who married the Viennese lawyer Anton Piech. They gave birth to Ferdinand Piech, and his proximity to two Alfa Romeo sports cars — Porsche had done some work for the Italians — and the "Berlin-Rome-Berlin" race car, developed by Porsche himself, gave birth to Piech's interest in cars. After his teachers in Salzburg told his mother he was "too stupid" to attend school there, Piech, who was open about his dyslexia, was sent to a boarding school in Switzerland. He subsequently moved on to Porsche, where he fixed issues with the 904 race car and did major work on the 911. But his greatest project was the Le Mans-winning 917 race car, developed at breathtaking financial cost. It annihilated the competition, but the family had had enough: Amid growing tension among the four cousins working at Porsche and Piech's uncle Ferry, the family decided to pull every family member, except for Ferry, out of their management positions. Piech started his own consultancy business, where he designed the famous five-cylinder diesel for Mercedes-Benz, but quickly moved on to Audi, first as an engineer and then as CEO, where he set out to transform the dull brand into a technology leader. Piech killed the Wankel engine and hammered out a number of ambitious and sophisticated technologies. Among them: The five-cylinder gasoline engine; Quattro all-wheel drive and Audi's fantastic rally successes; and turbocharging, developed with Fritz Indra, whom Piech recruited from Alpina. The Audi 100/200/5000 became the world's fastest production sedan, thanks to their superior aerodynamics. Piech also launched zinc-coated bodies for longevity — and gave diesel technology a decisive boost with the advent of the fast and ultra-efficient TDI engines. Less known: Piech also decided to put larger gas tanks into cars. Customers loved it. Piech's first-generation Audi V8 was met with derision by competitors; it was too obviously based on the 200/5000.
