THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS CAMPER BUS! THIS BUS HAS RECEIVED THE RED CARPET TREATMENT REQUIRING COUNTLESS MAN HOURS, BEGENING WITH THE DISMANTLING OF A VERY STRAIGHT, RUST FREE ORIGINAL PAINT WESTFALIA. THIS WAS NOT A RUST BUCKET THAT HAD TO BE CUT UP AND PATCHED BACK TOGETHER, RATHER A VERY NICE SURVIVOR THAT NEEDED A REFRESH AFTER A 10 YEAR COVERED STORAGE.

WE BEGAN BY DISMANTLING THE BUS DOWN TO IT’S BARE SHELL. ALL WINDOWS WERE REMOVED; ALL LIGHTS AND TRIM, THE ROOF, ROOF RACK AND CANVAS TENT ALL CAME OFF, ALL HANDLES AND HARDWARE ALONG WITH ALL DOOR RUBBER SEALS ECT. IT WAS THEN PROFESSIONALLY PREPED AND PAINTED IN A BEAUTFUL VINTAGE GREEN WITH A NICE CLEAN WHITE FOR TOP AND ACCENTS. THE PAINT WAS LAYED ON THICK AND THEN BUFFED TO AN AMAZING SMOOTH FINISH.

THE VDUB CLASSICS UPHOLSTERY DESIGN WAS CUSTOM MADE FOR THIS BUS AND LOOKS FANTASTIC! THE ORIGINAL PANNELING AND WESTFALIA CABINETS HAD BEEN INCREDIBLY WELL PRESERVED AND REQUIRED LITTLE RESTORATION, EVEN THE ICE BOX IS STILL IN GREAT SHAPE AND VERY USABLE. THE FLOOR NEEDED REPLACING AND SO WE INSTALLED OUR VDUB CLASSICS ONE PIECE BALTIC BIRCH FLOOR PANNEL WITH MULTIPLE COATS OF URETHANE FINISH FOR A DURABLE EASY TO CLEAN SURFACE. THE CURTAINS WERE HAND MADE AND MATCHED SPECIFICLY FOR THIS BUS AND NEW CARPET WAS INSTALLED OVER SOUND DEADENING UNDERLAYMENT ALONG WITH NEW RUBBER SEAT PEDESTAL MATS.

AFTER PAINT, WE METICULOUSLY REASSEMBLED THE BUS WITH ALL NEW WINDOW RUBBER, TRIM AND WINDOW CHANNEL FELT. ALL DOORS AND HATCHES RECEIVED NEW GERMAN RUBBER SEALS FOR A NICE QUIET WEATHERPROOF RIDE. ALL LIGHT LENSES WERE REPLACED WITH NEW. BRAND NEW CHROME BUMPERS WERE INSTALLED ALONG WITH NEW CHROME TRIM FOR LIGHTS AND FRONT EMBLEM. ALL NEW RUBBER SEALE ON ROOF AND ROOF RACK ALONG WITH NEW CANVAS TENT. NEW WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND NEW STEREO WITH USB INPUT FOR YOU IPAD OR PHONE

THE REBUILT 1700 ENGINE RUNS EXCELLENT AND PUSHES THE BUS DOWN THE ROAD NICELY. BRAKE SYSTEM HAS BEEN FLUSHED AND NEW PADS ON THE FACTORY FRONT DISC BRAKES, THEY WORK GREAT! THE STEERING IS NICE AND TIGHT AND THE TRANSMISION SHIFTS PROPERLY THROUGH ALL THE GEARS. THE WIRING HAS BEEN SORTED OUT WITH ALL LIGHTS WORKING PROPERLY INSIDE AND OUT WITH A NEW BATTERY AND ALL 4 TIRES WERE JUST REPLACED WITH BRAND NEW!!

THIS IS A VERY NICE LOOKING AND DRIVING BUS, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED. PLEASE CHECK MY FEEDBACK AND BID WITH CONFIDENCE. GOOD LUCK!!

LOCAL BUYERS, PLEASE CONTACT ME TO VIEW IN PERSON. OUT OF AREA BUYERS, I'M WILLING TO CORDINATE WITH TRANSPORT CO TO HELP EXPEDITE THE SHIPPING PROCESS.

Volkswagen e-Co-Motion concept poised for delivery to Geneva

Sat, 02 Mar 2013

With Nissan getting ready to launch the e-NV200, it appears Volkswagen is looking to go after the same zero-emission commercial vehicle market with the all-electric 2013 e-Co-Motion Concept. Debuting next week at the Geneva Motor Show, the e-Co-Motion Concept might be small in size, but VW says it has cargo and payload capacities that should be perfect for small businesses.
Measuring 179 inches long, 75 inches wide and 77 inches tall, the e-Co-Motion Concept has about the same footprint as the current Golf, and it has a cargo capacity of 162 cubic feet and a maximum payload of more than 1,700 pounds. There isn't too much information on the e-Co-Motion just yet - such as what electric components and platform are used - but the press release posted below states while the concept is shown as a cargo van, future body styles could include a passenger wagon or a refrigerated box van.

Europeans get first crack at new Golf Variant wagon

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Just last week, when we brought you news of a new Volkswagen Golf variant out and testing in Europe, we had no idea we were being so literal with out description. For it seems that VW has every intention of calling its new Golf wagon, making its Geneva debut, the "Golf Variant."
Odd/interesting sobriquets taken as read then, there's a lot to like about this new small wagon from VW. The Variant will shed some 232 pounds in this generation, and will come to market with two efficient TDI engines. Volkswagen isn't giving us displacement figures for either yet, but we're told the diesels will come with outputs of 110 and 150 horsepower. The 110-hp TDI BlueMotion Varient will be good for a whopping 71.3 miles per gallon on the European cycle, when mated to the six-speed manual transmission.
The German automaker has brought along an all-wheel-drive 4Motion version of the Gold Variant to bow in Geneva, as well, and a natural gas-burning TGI BlueMotion is said to be "in the pipeline."

Volkswagen planning Up! hybrid model using XL1 powertrain

Sun, 24 Feb 2013

Even though we've finally gotten a look at the production version of the 261-mile per gallon Volkswagen XL1, this aero-shaped two-seater was never intended for high-volume sales. Fortunately, it sounds like the same isn't true for the car's diesel plug-in hybrid powertrain, which, according to a report from AutoCar, could make its way under the hood of another Volkswagen model: the Up! minicar (shown above).
A potential Up! Hybrid would likely be able to return some of the same impressive fuel economy numbers as the XL1, but it would be a more realistic car with more passenger space and greater production capacity. The hand-built XL1 will use a 47-horsepower, two-cylinder TDI engine paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the 27-hp electric motor and lithium-ion battery helps deliver an all-electric driving range of 31 miles.
One of the core pillars of the XL1's design is its lightweight construction with a 1752-pound curb weight, which makes the Up! a perfect recipient for using this powertrain since it weighs just 300 pounds more. The report says that the Up! Hybrid is still in the developmental phase, so a production version isn't expected for at least another 18 months.
