SURF'S UP Dudes and Betties with this very cool, solid and clean 1973 VW Bus !!!! it's been redone with new paint, recently rebuilt 2000 CC "pancake" motor with dual carbs, and rebuilt very rare AUTOMATIC transmission so every member of your family can drive it... new surfer interior with rebuilt seats, bamboo interior, jump-seat, fold up surfboard table, Ice Box, killer modern stereo with beefy speakers upfront, even has new tires and a bamboo surfer rack up top.... the ODO says over 60,000 miles but that is irrelevant since just about everything on this bus has been redone.. it has power disc. brakes too and stops on a dime ! The only minor things we can find is some normal nicks and scratches here and there and also a little surface rust inside and below the back window... we also replaced a back axel ... other than that, as far as we know.. you are good to roll for a long time in this very nice and cool hard to find VW Bus !

Volkswagen Cross Up! aimed at rugged lifestyle folks, complete with plastic cladding
Wed, 06 Mar 2013If you thought there was nothing wrong with the Volkswagen Up! that a little body cladding wouldn't fix, you're in luck. VW has officially pulled the wraps off the production version of the Cross Up!, and its wheel arches and rocker panels are full of the black plastic cladding you've been yearning for.
In addition to the "particularly rugged design and tough, lifestyle qualities" that the cladding exudes, VeeDub has also seen fit to put its Cross Up! on a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels clad in 185/50-series tires. Inside, there are new kick plates to go along with a dash pad that can be had in red, black or silver.
All that cladding must equal additional off-road readiness, right? Well, sure... just so long as you're fine with the same 75-horsepower three-cylinder engine that all other Up! models also feature, along with a five-speed manual transmission sending power to the front wheels, again, just like all other Up! models. The Cross Up! appears to have a taller ride height than other models, but we haven't been able to find out what - if any - changes have been made.

The past 15 months have seen the couple quit their jobs with Gore-Tex and drive from Arizona to the very southern tip of Argentina after spending a full two years saving and preparing for the trek. Now they're in southern Asia gearing up for the next leg of their journey.
Volkswagen Golf R 400 Concept still makes us swoon

Volkswagen first rolled out the Golf R 400 concept in Beijing earlier this year, and since its debut, we've heard rumors that the German automaker might-perhaps-maybe-hopefully build the thing. Its showing here in Los Angeles simply marks the first time it's debuting in America, and honestly, we can't get enough. So here it is, again. Hello, Golf R 400 – we love you. And what's not to love? What starts as a normal Golf R gets better with a more aggressive appearance, big wheels, some tasteful neon yellow accents, and a whole mess of power. The original concept packed 395 horsepower from an overblown 2.0-liter turbo-four, though the most recent reports suggest a production version could produce over 400 hp. To keep it all in line, the concept has all-wheel drive. And inside, it's the same functional, comfortable Golf we've always loved. There's nothing left to say, really.
