Great restoration project. All the mechanical work has been done with the exception of the Catalytic Converter and the Muffler. Needs a new pop-top I was going to repair it but after research discovered that it is cheaper to replace the entire top as it comes with the seal which alone is about $80. The Odometer is broken and shows that it has 300,000 miles. I have had two different VW experts whom have said that the plastic gears had a problem of wearing out and causing the 100,000 mile number to roll over when the 10,000 mile marker rolled. I have also had both the mechanics assure me that it probably has around 120,000-150,000 miles on it based on the condition of engine. I have replaced the entire Brake system along with the entire fuel system including the tank, hoses, lines, injectors, and filler pipes. Tires, Alternator, Belt are new as well. There are a few pieces of surface rust that need to be sanded and painted but no frame rust at anywhere on the vehicle. The sink has not been used as far as I can see, I have never used the stove but after talking to a Park Ranger was told the connector has to be replaced often to avoid a citation.
I bought this car a restoration project but have neither the time or money to finish it now. Whomever purchases this vehicle will have a great car that is one of last of the air-cooled classic VW's ever made. Makes a great camping or road trip car or a quick restoration project for a quick profit. Happy Bidding!
Payment will be thru paypal and buyer is responsible for shipping or pickup in Chattanooga TN. The car is registered in Georgia which will not issue titles for cars over 25 years old. I have discussed this with the Tag Office and they said the sale with be fine with a Bill of Sale and the Registration. You will need to see if your state will issue a title or if you will just need to register the car.

Volkswagen sketches Geneva-bound concept
Wed, Feb 25 2015Volkswagen has released a pair of sketches that give us our first official glimpse at the company's new concept car, set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week. Details are slim – the car doesn't even have a name yet – but we do have some facts about VW's swoopy new showcar. First off, it's a sedan – well, "four-door coupe" – but is said to have a hatchback configuration. Autoblog has also learned that the car will be powered by a hybrid powertrain, using a TSI gasoline engine paired with two electric motors, and uses an all-wheel-drive configuration that's likely similar to that in the recently unveiled Cross Coupe GTE concept. Volkswagen says this showcar uses a new, progressive design language for the brand. And while it sort of looks like a dead ringer for a new CC, we're told this concept is positioned above that model. For now, that's all we know, but we expect a host of other details to be released closer to the car's official debut in Geneva next week. Stay tuned. VW beams in Star Trek stars to promote e-Golf EV
Tue, Oct 7 2014Volkswagen just set its e-mobility commercial phasers on stunning. The German automaker has cast Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock of Star Trek fame (i.e., actors William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy) in a new advertisement for its growing stable of electric vehicles. Even though it's in German, we think you can get the idea. VW went Hollywood and cast the two veteran actors in a futuristic-themed 45-second ad, which sees Shatner cruise up in the e-Golf (with a toothy Trek-fan kid in tow) while Nimoy rocks the XL1 and the Trek theme blares in the background. Forget for a moment that the kid in the commercial wasn't even born when Shatner started pitching for Priceline, let alone the original Trek series and just enjoy the wholesome good humor of Shatner saying that the electric powertrain is just like the one in a spaceship. If you've got any familiarity with Spock, you should be able to understand his punch line, too. Of course, if you'd rather your German vehicle advertisements were set in the Star Wars universe, we recommend clicking here. VW will bring the e-Golf to the states in November at a price of $35,445, about $6,500 higher than the Nissan Leaf's starting pricetag. Translogic 168: CES 2015 Roundup
Wed, Jan 14 2015Translogic and the yearly CES glorious gadget geekout go together like digital peanut butter and high-def jelly. At this year's show, surrounded by an egg-shaped Mercedes-Benz concept and the re-introduction of, of all things, the Sony Walkman, we had some fun. Between talking with Volkswagen about its new gesture-control tech and flying some video drones, we squeezed in some time to shred on ZBoard's new electric skateboard. The future is now.
