Rocklin, California, United States
One life to live and so it is your time to enjoy it- Vw Camper will give you the freedom to travel and enjoy life. I park it on the beach and I have a ocean front view house. 1980 Vw Vanagon Westfalia bus, 4cyl Air-cooled with around 30,000 rebuilt engine, Sliding door, safety features, pop-top tent, sleeps 4, This is like a swiss army knife. Camper interior Has table for candle light dinners, fridge that runs on propane gas, 12volt and plug it 110v, Sink with a clear water tank, lots of storage for all you needs, Bottom seat can be a couch and it turns in to a bed. Roof pops up so u can stand up with no problem. I will do my best to Describe this bus- Just changed oil, battery, fuel, fuel pump etc and drove it camping to San Francisco and Santa Cruz area. Bus motor does not overheat and it drove like a dream. See Pics from 1-19-2014 trip photos. We did over 400 miles in the bus and got great gas millage compare to a rv. The bus does need tlc and I would have a full tune up just to have it serviced before I would take it cross country since it sat for over a year. This is a 34+yeard old Vw bus that will need tlc just like any other one and it is Sold as-is and the buyer is responsible for transport and smog etc..The Bus is 34+ years old so it is not perfect condition. If u want a fully restored bus and want to pay 20k this one is not for you and most likely vw bus is maybe not the right choice for you. If you want a nice bus that you will fall in love and use it everyday then this one is for you. It is part of my seniors dad collection and he loved the bus but has not driven it for a year. Clear Ca title and reg is on non-opp starting 2-2014. Please feel free to come by and drive the bus or call me at 916-969-0334 Paul. It is in Loomis, Ca by zip 95677 and close to Sacramento, California. Feel free to ask any questions?? Buyer must pay 500 dollar deposit within 24 hours of end of Auction via Paypal. The Rest must be paid in full with in 5 days via Cash, Bank transfer. I have sold many cars to Europe and to different states. All buyers have been happy customers that got a great deal. These buses are only going to go higher in value because as you see older bus prices are unreachable, these will give you a feeling of driving a vw bus nothing like it. It has a 1960's soul with 1980's technology which makes it a fun car to drive. Tom Hanks the actor bought one recently, a camper too. No Reserve auction-I see these online for 10,000 plus. I would keep it just as it is because it is a good bus not a trailer queen. This bus gave me such joy on those two trips that I took, that no hotel could give me. To be able to camp at the beach for free was a blast. Lisening to the ocean waves all night and be able to stop and eat where ever is what freedom you can expiriance in a Westfalia camper. GREAT THINGS ABOUT THE BUS- 1-Westfalia camper-Frig,sink,cabinets,beds-etc Nice and usable see pics, top bunk is white and like new. 2-1980 Vw Vanagon Motor rebuilt and around 30k on it, Strong and fun to drive a rear engine bus, it will do 70mph no problem. 3-Nice color-original Vanilla yellow but now a little brither yellow now. Nice original color inside. 4-Manual-4 speed-Easy to drive and very realiable. Great Trans. 5-Good glass and interior. Passanger seat swivels for more seating space. 6-New fuel pump, battery, new hoses, Many new parts. 7-Lights in/out, clutch, fuel gauge, clock, warning lights, windows, cabinets/storage doors all work. The Bad- Things that buyer should know. 1- Tent is torn but I found one for as little as 149-new or fix this one with a repair kit. (see pic) 2-1980 westfalia in overall good Cond but not perfect has some dings in/out, rear hatch could use new shocks ($18 *2) because does not fully stay up.. Rear cushion works but it is thiner then original but very usable sine I got foam cushion to make it work good. 3-Speedo just broke at 189k, Radio/cd is missing face for it, Keys work on the front doors but not on the side or back(lacksmith can rekey or just lock the sliding door from inside and exit out th front doors, 4-Paint looks great from distance but upclose you can see that at sometime it was painted cheaply, It does has some minor dings, has surface little rust(see-pic) but it is all sold including floors, prior owner to us had it painted. (see pic) 5-Bus did sit for over a year so it needs a service tune up so you can be sure it is fully reliable and Brakes should have new pads because the front one sometimes make a noise when I drove it. 6-Westfalia camping kit is complete to my knowledge but it does need cleaning, new window drapes old one have some rips, bottom bed cabinet has been cut and some one cheaply replaced the wood(it work all but does not look the best), front driver seat has a tear, wall paper is cracked or missing in some spots.(see pics) 7-Camper Kitchen Stove works etc but everything needs to be cleaned due to it sitting a year. Water tank needs to be cleaned too. Frig, sink, tanks, etc I was not able to check but it worked when parked and all the lights light up on the frig saying water tank is empty and battery is full. Propane tank needs a new knob because it does leek propane from the tank, easy fix for a part from a rv/camping store. Common gasket goes bad. Quated it is a $ 10 part and looks easy to install. 8-Some one broke the driver side mirror so buyer will need to get one, One should get one used for $10-45. I truly want the buyer to know everything I know, so they will know what to expect but I could have missed something since Im only human. Over all the bus is usable and good for being 34+years old, if you like a bus that you can make it as you want it then this is a great choice. Use it everyday and camp in it for fun. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS AND I WILL DO MY BEST TO GET BACK TO YOU ASAP. Thank You very much and happy bussing out there |

VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC
Sat, 22 Jun 2013Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.
VW recalling 38k Jettas, Passats, Golfs and Beetles for fuel leak
Wed, Dec 31 2014Earlier we reported on a recall issued for the 2015 VW Jetta regarding a problem with the headlights, and now Volkswagen and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have issued another recall for a separate issue affecting not only the Jetta, but several other models as well. The issue revolves around a sealing cap in the fuel rail, which could leak fuel into the engine compartment and potentially cause a fire. The problem affects an estimated 37,979 vehicles in the United States, including the 2014-15 Jetta (manufactured between March 28 and November 24, 2014), the 2014-15 Passat (April 7 to November 18), the 2015 Golf and GTI (July 1 to November 20) and the 2014-15 Beetle and Beetle Convertible (March 31 to November 27). That covers pretty much the entire range offered by Volkswagen of America, short of the Tiguan and Touareg crossovers (and the discontinued Eos convertible). Considering, though, that VW routinely sells around 30,000 vehicles in the US each month, the small number of vehicles being recalled (relative to the quantity out there) tells you this recall really only affects a specific cross-section of models. Owners of the affected vehicles can expect to be contacted by their dealers to have the fuel rails replaced. RECALL Subject : Fuel Leaking Into Engine Compartment Report Receipt Date: DEC 22, 2014 NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V809000 Component(s): FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE Potential Number of Units Affected: 37,979 Manufacturer: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. SUMMARY: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Jetta vehicles manufactured March 28, 2014, to November 24, 2014, certain 2014-2015 Passat vehicles manufactured April 7, 2014, to November 18, 2014, certain 2015 Golf and GTI vehicles manufactured July 1, 2014, to November 20, 2014, and certain 2014-2015 Beetle and Beetle Convertible vehicles manufactured March 31, 2014, to November 27, 2014. A sealing cap at the fuel rail may fail, allowing fuel to leak into the engine compartment. CONSEQUENCE: A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, can result in a vehicle fire. REMEDY: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel rails with new parts, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-822-8987. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 24Bi.
VW adding particulate filters to gas engines
Wed, Aug 3 2016Volkswagen is working hard to overcome the PR disaster that is its diesel emissions scandal, and part of its efforts is focusing, weirdly, on petrol engines. Starting in June 2017, the embattled German automaker will add particulate filters to the gas-powered Volkswagen Tiguan and Audi A5. The change will eventually impact nearly every direct-injected gas engine the VW Group makes. Audi? Particulate filter. Seat? Particulate filter. Even Bentley is going to get the tech, all in a bid to reduce soot emissions by 90 percent. In fact, by 2022 VAG expects 7 million of its vehicles to boast the emissions-cleaning tech, which has long been a fixture on diesel engines. "Following increases in efficiency and lower CO2 output, we are now bringing about a sustained reduction in the emission levels of our modern petrol engines by fitting particulate filters as standard," Volkswagen Group research and design boss Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn said in a statement. "In the future, all models will be equipped with the latest and most efficient SCR catalytic converter technology." VW's initial rollout focuses on the 1.4-liter, turbocharged Tiguan and the 2.0-liter, turbocharged A5. Considering the popularity of the 2.0-liter across the VW range, we'd expect it's only a matter of time before VW expands its particulate filters tech to additional gas-powered vehicles.
