1977 Vw Bus- Original Paint- Stunning Survivor! on 2040-cars

Year:1977 Mileage:17101
Location:

Scotts Valley, California, United States

Scotts Valley, California, United States

This bus is a JEWEL compared to others I've seen. Look at the reflection in the Original Paint! Listed at NO RESERVE, high bidder WINS! Rea
dy to own all the shows or be the center off attention?

Here is my 1977 Deluxe Volkswagen Bus I recently acquired. It has 117k miles, it runs and drives great. This bus has been cherished and preserved since the day it was purchased new in 1977. Its still wering its strong Original Taiga Green Paint. You gotta love the awesome body on this one. It has a nice Brown interior with some wear on the drivers seat and a minor split in the headliner, this ads character and shows originality in my opinion. The interior is complete with all its seats along with a beautiful dash thats not cracked. I was told by the previous owner it has 60k on a rebuild 2000cc fuel injected engine as it runs, drives, and shifts great! It cruises 65-70 mph down the highway. It was never hacked, altered, or abused. It has always been a West Coast bus. This is a very RARE bus to find in this condition to say the least!

The body is AMAZING for being over 35 years old, just look at the pictures. Nothing like a nice original paint bus with a almost perfect interior.

This is your window of opportunity to purchase this beauty. Leave it stock, or lower it on Porsche Fuchs? Narrow beam etc. The possibilities are endless. The more you look, the more this bus will blow your mind. Please remember this is not a restored bus; it has some dings, scratches, and minor paint touchups over the years, which is common for being over 35 years-old. Again, don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to own This one.

Remember, A restored bus is a dime a dozen, a survivor like this is priceless and hard to find as most of them have been restored, and altered.

Volkswagen iBeetle gets integrated iPhone dock, little else

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

Apple fans have been itching to see the tech giant flex the full muscle of its iOS operating system in an automotive infotainment system for years, which is why we turned all sorts of excited when we caught wind of the Volkswagen iBeetle. The machine is headed to the Shanghai Motor Show for a debut, and VW promised it would be one of the "first cars in the world to have a genuine integrative interface for the iPhone that was coordinated with Apple." Listen closely, and you can hear the contented sigh of a million wallets opening.
Go ahead and close those up, kids.
In reality, the iBeetle offers little more than a dash-mounted dock and a special app that shows a few vehicle functions, which is about as far from an infotainment revolution as you're likely to find. In fact, the setup is little more than a factory rehash of aftermarket items, and hardly worth a whole model debut at an international motor show. And that's to say nothing of the fact that Apple relishes in changing the shape and form of its darling handheld at every generation. Volkswagen better be prepared to keep pace with appropriate docking mechanisms for the upcoming iPhone 5S, 6, 6S, et al.

The mood at this year’s Paris Motor Show: Quiet

Tue, Oct 2 2018

The Paris Motor Show, held every other year in the early fall, typically kicks off the annual cavalcade of automotive conclaves, one that traverses the globe between autumn and spring, introducing projective, conceptual and production-ready vehicle models to the international automotive press, automotive aficionados and a public hungry for news of our increasingly futuristic mobility enterprise. But this year, at the press preview days for the show, the grounds of the Porte de Versailles convention center felt a bit more sparsely populated than usual. This was not simply a subjective sensation, or one influenced by the center's atypically dispersed assemblage of seven discrete buildings, which tends to spread out the cars and the crowds. There were not only fewer new vehicles being premiered in Paris this year, there were fewer manufacturers there to display them. Major mainstream European OEM stalwarts such as Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Nissan and Volkswagen chose to sit out Paris this year, as did boutique manufacturers like Bentley, Aston Martin and Lamborghini. This is not simply based in some antipathy on the part of the German, British and Italian manufacturers toward the French market — though for a variety of historical and societal reasons that market may be more dominated by vehicles produced domestically than others. Rather, it is part of a larger trend in the industry. Last year, Mercedes-Benz announced that it would not be participating in the flagship North American International Auto Show in 2019 — and that it might not return. Other brands including Jaguar/Land Rover, Audi, Porsche, Mazda and nearly every exotic carmaker have also departed the Detroit show. Some of these brands will still appear in the city in which the show is taking place, and host an event offsite, to capitalize on the presence of a large number of reporters in attendance. And even brands that do have a presence at the show have shifted their vehicle introductions to the days before the official press opening in an attempt to stand out from the crowd. In many ways, this makes sense. With an expanding number of automakers, with diversification and niche-ification of models and with wholesale shifts that necessitate the introduction of EV or autonomous sub-brands, there is a growing sense that, with everyone shouting at the same time, no one can be heard.

Volkswagen New Midsize Coupe Concept is an aspirational Jetta

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Meet the Volkswagen baby CC. Okay, that's not really it's name (VW calls it the New Midsize Coupe Concept), but this sleek, four-door coupe draws more than a little inspiration from the CC while riding on VW's MQB platform.
It's a looker, we think, and is an eye-pleasing departure from the bland styling of the current Jetta. The sleeker front end is complemented by a wider body overall (it's wider than a Passat), while the more sporting roofline and the sharp rear fascia gives the New Midsize Coupe a decidedly sporting character. LED head- and taillights add a bit more personality to this already stylish design.
Thanks to its 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder, it should get along rather sportingly, as well. The run to 62 miles per hour takes just 6.5 seconds thanks to the 217 horsepower on offer. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is also fitted, and contributes to an estimated 37 miles per gallon.
