UP FOR SALE IS MY 1973 VW CAMPMOBILE WESTPHALIA EDITION. THE 1700 ENGINE IS FRESH FROM REBUILD AND ALL NEW SEALS AND GASKETS, FRESH TUNE UP, ALL FOUR WHEEL CYLINDERS REPLACED AND NEW PADS. RUNS DRIVES AND STOPS, VERY SOLID CAR. HERE'S THE BAD, THE SINKA AND REFRIGERATOR ARE MISSING, BUT THE BENCH AND REAR MATTRESS ARE THERE AS WELL AS THE SINGLE SEAT THAT CONVERTS TO PORTA=POTTY. ALL THE GLASS IS GOOD IN IT AND ALL THE WINDOWS OPERATE AS THEY SHOULD, COULD USE NEW SCREENS INSIDE OF THE CRANK OUT WINDOWS ON THE SIDES. IT DOES HAVE SOME RUST BUT NO RUST IN THE MAJOR SECTIONS, REALLY ITS JUST IN THE STEPS AND THE REAR CORNERS WHERE MOST ARE RUSTED AT. IT HAS THE TENT IN IT, BUT REALLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED (DRY ROTTED) TO BE IN DAILY DRIVER CONDITION. THE FLOOR HAD SOMETHING GLUED TO THE LINOLEUM AND HAD TO BE PULLED UP, WHICH IS GOOD AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICS, THE ORIGINAL PADDING AND EVERYTHING IS THERE, JUST LIKE IT WAS FROM THE FACTORY. THE REAR HATCH WORKS LIKE ITS SUPPOSED TO WORK, NEW TIRES ALL THE WAY AROUND. THIS IS NOT A SHOW CAR, BUT NOT FAR FROM BEING ONE. ALSO THE ORIGINAL COLOR WAS ORANGE AND SOME KNUCKLHEAD PAINTED IT YELLOW. NOT A BAD COLOR, JUST NOT A VERY GOOD PAINT JOB. LOOKS DECENT, DEFINITELY A CRUISER, FUN TO DRIVE. ANY QUESTION YOU CAN CONTACT ME AT eastcoastvdubs@gmail.com, THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING!! NO TITLE, JUST BILL OF SALE.
VEHICLE IS OFFERED FOR SALE LOCALLY, WILL CLOSE AUCTION IF SOLD BEFORE AUCTION END.

CEO says Volkswagen's buying spree is over
Mon, 03 Sep 2012
After adding Italian motorcycle icon Ducati to its stable and spending $5.6 billion on the rest of Porsche, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn says he's done shopping for a while.
"We have enough to do at the moment in taking our twelve brands to where we want to be," Winterkorn tells German newspaper Handelsblatt.
This Or That: 1987 VW Vanagon Syncro vs. 1987 Land Rover Defender [w/poll]
Thu, 13 Nov 2014As I scoured auction sites and classified ads for the perfect vehicle to take into battle with Autoblog Associate Editor Brandon Turkus, I knew I needed to find something unique. You see, I'm currently 0-2 at winning a round of This or That, in which two of our editors agree on a category, choose a side, and argue it out over a (mostly) friendly chain of emails.
The first time we did this, my chosen Fiat 500 Abarth took about a third of the popular vote in our reader poll. The second time, my lovely 1980 Oldsmobile 442 did just a little bit better against a 1989 BMW 635 CSi. Despite holding the opinion that my automotive choices, though perhaps a little bit more... obscure than my fellow editors, are still better, an outright win would go a long way toward boosting my vehicular self worth a few notches upward.
With all of that out of the way, even if three isn't my lucky number after all, I go into battle against Brandon knowing full well that I've made the perfect choice: A 1987 Volkswagen Vanagon Syncro. My rough-and-tumble van/'ute has a formidable opponent in the form of a 1987 Land Rover Defender, which, truth be told, is exactly what I was expecting from Turkus, a self-proclaimed Rover aficionado.
Skoda Octavia vRS is just the thing for your pumped-up neighborhood
Fri, 26 Jul 2013Skoda, oh Skoda. You're just so cool. Maybe it's the fact that it's a brand that we don't get in these United States, but Skoda's rebadged Volkswagens, in particular the new Octavia vRS shown here, are just different enough from the hum-drum VWs on our shores that the Czech brand seems strangely desirable. Maybe we're just craving forbidden fruit.
This short, minute-long spot covers the new vRS in a world of excess, where strollers ride on 26-inch wheels, lawnmowers feature V8 engines and ice cream cones are the size of toddlers. As things often go in these ads, the Octavia vRS draws the eyes of passerby that are seemingly use to things far more ridiculous than a reasonably priced Czech sedan. In reality, the Octavia should be fairly familiar to American buyers. It uses the same 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-pot found in the Volkswagen GTI and Jetta GLI, with 217 horsepower, and sits on the same platform as the Audi A3 and Volkswagen Golf. Take a look at the full spot, below.
