1972 VOLKSWAGEN BUS RIVIERA CAMPER EDITION NO RESERVE Hi, up for auction is this Awesome 1972 Volkswagen Riviera Camper Bus. This is the perfect Bus for camping, fishing, road trips with the family, or your own personal trip back to the 70's (even if it's only in your mind lol) This Bus was senior owned and well taken care of, always serviced and maintained, engine was replaced about 9 years ago with a 1800cc fuel injected VW engine, in my opinion it's more reliable and fuel efficient, engine has roughly around 35k miles. Sporting fresh new paint done about 3 months ago, it's cream color exterior with yellow accents really give's this classic Bus it's own personality, it's a really attention grabber and people are always stopping me to ask if it's for sale. The interior is nice and clean, however the upholstery is showing some signs of aging witch is expected for a vehicle of this year. Pop top is in great shape and doesn't leak, has a fold down sofa bed that sleeps 2 comfortably and over head bunk great for the kids or one adult, tons of closet and storage space, fold out dinette table and power outlets. These V-Dub Buses are not only super run and really cool, there also rare and a great investment cause they always hold there value and seem to go up every year. Only being offered at auction for 3 day and being sold to the highest bidder "NO RESERVE" so don't miss your chance to own this great classic VW Camper Bus..... If you have any questions or concerns please ask prior to bidding thank you and GOOD LUCK!!

Import pickup truck-killing Chicken Tax to be repealed?
Tue, Jun 30 2015After over 50 years, the so-called Chicken Tax may finally be going the way of the dodo. Two pending trade deals with countries in the Pacific Rim and Europe potentially could open the US auto market up to imported trucks, if the measures pass. Although, it still might be a while before you can own that Volkswagen Amarok or Toyota Hilux, if ever. The 25-percent import tariff that the Chicken Tax imposes on foreign trucks essentially makes the things all but impossible to sell one profitably in the US, which lends a distinct advantage to domestic pickups. Both the Trans-Pacific Partnership with 12 counties and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the European Union would finally end the charge. According to Automotive News though, don't expect new pickups to flood the market, at least not immediately. These deals might roll back the tariff gradually over time, and in the case of Japan, it could be as long as 25 years before fully free trade. Furthermore, Thailand, a major truck builder in Asia, isn't currently part of the deal, and any new models here would still need to meet safety and emissions rules, as well. Automotive News gauged the very early intentions of several automakers with foreign-built trucks, and they weren't necessarily champing at the bit to start imports. Toyota thinks the Hilux sits between the Tundra and Tacoma, and Mazda doesn't think the BT-50 fits its image here. Also, VW doesn't necessarily want to bring the Amarok over from Hannover. There is previous precedent for companies at least considering bringing in pickup trucks after the Chicken Tax's demise, though. The Pacific free trade deal could be done as soon as this fall, while the EU one is likely further out, according to Automotive News. Given enough time, the more accessible ports could allow some new trucks to enter the market.
Volkswagen Multivan Alltrack Concept takes the luxury van life off road
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Volkswagen dug into its commercial vehicle fleet for its latest Geneva Motor Show concept, blending the versatile body of the T5 MultiVan with a luxuriously appointed interior, 4Motion all-wheel drive and a thrifty diesel powertrain.
That 177-horsepower diesel engine routes its power to the AWD system through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Based on that alone, we'd expect the Multivan Alltrack's behind-the-wheel experience to be somewhat familiar. That all-wheel-drive system and van body contribute to the 21-degree approach and 15-degree departure angles of this soft-roading MultiVan.
What wouldn't be familiar is its exquisite cabin. Volkswagen opted for a nautical theme for the concept's interior, featuring grey-blue leather seats from Poltrona Frau and a floor finished in real wood. The dark wood trim can also be found throughout the interior, running below the windows and on the dash.
