1972 Volkswagen Bay Window Sunroof Van/Bus 1 Owner, purchased new in January 1972 at Parkinson Volkswagen, Placentia, Calif. I have the original Bill of Sale. Husband bought it for his wife on their 1st Anniversary! Always garaged, well taken care of by the owner who was a long time VW mechanic that meticulously cared for this amazing time capsule of VW history! 85% Original Paint..The Bay Window buses are now the affordable collectable VW Van. To have an opportunity to own a van as pristine and unmolested as this one is rare!! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this one for the first time.. Original sunroof, Updated transaxle with only 70,000 miles on it, updated motor has appox. only 53,000 miles on it. with a 1.8 engine, balanced and blueprinted. Dual 48 IDA Carbs, K&N Filters, very strong running van, Speedometer shows 126,000 miles. The interior is as immaculate as the outside. It also comes with a conversion bed if seats are removed for camping. Seats are like new.

VW to announce $1B investment in Mexico plant
Sun, Mar 8 2015Big news south of the border could be slated for later this week, as Automotive News is reporting that the Volkswagen Group will announce a $1-billion investment in the company's Puebla factory. The company officially declined to comment, but AN is claiming the investment in the Puebla facility, which has been operating for over five decades, will add 1,900 jobs to the nearly 16,000-strong workforce. According to AN, a person familiar with the situation in Puebla claims the investment will support production of the next-generation Tiguan, slated to arrive in 2017. The Puebla factory currently produces Golf, while total output last year nearly hit half a million vehicles, or about 15 percent of Mexico's total automotive output. Last VW bus ever made arrives at final destination
Fri, 31 Jan 2014A Brazilian politician tried to save it, unsuccessfully, so the final Last Edition Volkswagen Type 2 Kombi was produced on December 20, 2013 and now resides in a vintage museum at Volkswagen's Commercial Vehicles HQ in Hanover, Germany.
The Volkswagen Microbus was built for 56 years, starting in September 1957. Brazil was the last country still assembling it, but new safety regulations in the country requiring airbags and ABS on all cars spelled the end. When that politician introduced a bill that would pardon only the 'Bus from a death sentence, it couldn't garner the required number of votes for passage. The South American country takes the Kombi production title, though, with 1.5 million of the 3.5 million total made in the home of Copacabana beach and the girl from Ipanema.
The VW Bus is dead. Now perhaps we can turn our attentions to the still-not-totally-settled matter of the Bulli...
Volkswagen Passat gets Wolfsburg Edition, priced from $23,495*
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Volkswagen has just announced a new Passat Wolfsburg Edition, which slots between the base S and mid-grade SE trims in terms of content and price. The automaker has not released any official photos of the car as of this writing (aside from the badge shot you see here, of course), but the Wolfsburg Passat will be visually set apart from the rest by a unique set of 16-inch alloy wheels.
The big host of upgrades for the Wolfsburg Edition are found inside, where buyers will enjoy standard amenities like leatherette seats (with bun-warmers on the front chairs), a power driver's seat, satellite radio and a media interface with iPod connectivity. Of course, this comes on top of the already standard Passat features like Bluetooth and auto on/off headlamps. The Wolfsburg Passat will only be available with the 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission.
