This is a 1971 VW Volkswagen Early Bay Window Bus with a paint scheme to resemble the Hurley Bus from the hit TV sow "LOST". It is in running and driving condition and can be enjoyed immediately.

Mechanical - It has a 1600 CC dual port engine with a stock 4 speed manual transmission. The bus starts right up as it should and drives down the road. All of the gears work (1-4) as well as reverse. The brakes stop the bus as they should but the E-brake will not engage. The front has been lowered about 2-3 inches and the rear has been lowered 1 index down from stock. The odometer reads 50976 but i am not sure if it has turned over, or how many times since it is a 5 digit odo.

Exterior - Body has some dings and dents and there is some signs that bus was once converted to a camper style bus and then converted back. Currently the bus has been painted and schemed to look like the Hurley Bus from LOST. All of the glass is there but has signs of wear and pitting. Wheels are stock steel wheels with chrome VW center caps. The bus does not have any bumpers on it.

Interior - The front seats are both in good condition and look like they have been recently reupholstered, there is no middle seat and the rear seat is the Z-Bed type seat that folds down into a bed. The rubber weatherstripping is in tact but a bit dry and may have some cracking. Tan Berber carpeting has been added to the passenger area and on top of the dash to make it nice and cozy inside. There is a CD player but it goes on the fritz when you try to use it and several of the speakers are missing. The dash and cluster have some minor cracks in it but is in overall decent condition considering the age.

VW builds 250,000th Passat in Chattanooga in just two years

It hasn't been without incident or union organizing drive, but the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, TN has built its 250,000 Passat in just a little over two years. The Night Blue Passat TDI with black leather has come just two years and five weeks after the first customer car came off the line on April 18, 2011.
In the last year the plant operated at the 150,000-unit capacity that it was intended for, but the downturn in Passat sales and subsequent worker layoffs mean it will be a challenge to repeat the feat. The plant does have the world's largest solar park, though, and you can't take that away from them.

VW teams up with legendary electronic musicians Kraftwerk for 3D Autobahn concert

Electronic music fans know Kraftwerk. To paraphrase a famous TV anchor, they're kind of a big deal. The band is in the midst of an eight-concert show at Berlin's Neue Nationalgalerie, which includes a full 3D accompaniment. Why, you ask, is this on Autoblog, then? Well, Volkswagen is sponsoring it, highlighting the role that its iconic Beetle played on the band's equally iconic fourth album, Autobahn. If there's any one new vehicle the entire world is anxiously waiting for, it's the Jeep Wrangler. Yes, of course the iconic off-roader has a loyal following here in America, but you could plop a Wrangler pretty much anywhere on the globe and everybody will know what it is. Put simply, the redesigned 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL has big, muddy shoes to fill, and the readers of Autoblog are just as interested in the Wrangler's rebirth as anyone else. Moving along, we were fortunate enough last week to spend a bit of time in nearly every version of the venerable Volkswagen Golf all in one day. There isn't a Golf we don't like, but there's one, easily identifiable by its three-digit name, that stands above all the rest: GTI. We think it's the best Golf you can buy, even if there's an R-badged variant that slots above the GTI in VW hierarchy. Rounding out our recap are three vehicles that could hardly be more different.
