For sale is my 1970 Volkswagen Transporter type 28 bus. It was bought new in 1970 at Bill Stallard VW in Odesa Texas and lived its life here in southeast New Mexico. It runs and drives great. It also looks great. It is in its original condition other than a aftermarket stereo and speaker that are mounted so they can be removed with no damage to the bus. The original AM stereo is still in it. The original motor and transmission is still in it also. All the Vin plates match too. As far as the negatives go there is one bad place on the front of the vehicle that needs to be addressed and I included a picture. Also the middle seat is not mounted but is there. There are also a couple of bad spots on the seats that need attention also. There are covers on the front seats but are in pretty good shape underneath. There are a few small rust spots but are very small. Considering the part of the country we are in there should much at all. I am not the original owner but I do live in the same town. I have also included many pictures but if you need a picture of something I missed or just have a question don't hesitate to call or email me. I think if your into these classics you wont be unhappy with this purchase. Everywhere I drive it people want to talk about if or just give me the thumbs up. Its really a lot of fun. Volkswagen Golf, Ford F-150 named 2015 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year
Mon, Jan 12 2015Congratulations, Volkswagen Golf/GTI and Ford F-150. You've just been named the 2015 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year, kicking off the first press day of the Detroit Auto Show. The Golf faced some seriously stiff competition from its runners-up, the Ford Mustang and Hyundai Genesis. But the Golf has been a highly awarded vehicle since its launch, including recently being named Motor Trend's Car of the Year. As for the Truck/Utility award, it wasn't immediately clear that the aluminum-bodied Ford F-150 would win the North American honor, topping the Chevrolet Colorado and Lincoln MKC. The Chevy, after all, has been widely praised since arriving this fall, including taking home MT's Truck of the Year award. In 2014, Chevrolet had a sweep of the NACTOY awards, with the Corvette Stingray and Silverado taking top honors. Here's a look at the 2015 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year voting breakdown. As you can see, it wasn't exactly neck and neck. Thu, Nov 13 2014Volkswagen has presented a list of near-term technologies to improve fuel economy and decrease emissions. The list includes an addition to a coasting function in its stop-start system, a 10-speed DSG transmission and a more power-dense four-cylinder TDI engine. Volkswagen aims to be the world's most sustainable automaker by 2018 through electric mobility, improved design and increased environmental performance from internal combustion vehicles. Volkswagen also announced other technologies for increased interactivity and connectivity in its vehicles. Read more at Green Car Congress. Commence Pence is a system that allows subway riders in London to donate their unused transit money to charity. People visiting the city often load up enough on their subway card (called Oyster Card) to get them through their trip and end up with unused funds leftover. Zander Whitehurst, a British designer, has created a device that can use the card's RFID to accept leftover funds, which then get diverted to charity rather than reverting back to the agency in charge of running the subway fare system. See the video below or read more at Wired. Mike Jackson, CEO of AutoNation has called Michigan's efforts to ban Tesla's direct sales in the state "unnecessary protectionism." The statement comes as a bit of a surprise, as it dissents from the majority of auto dealers who support a franchise model, as well as laws that forbid automakers selling directly to the consumer. "If Elon Musk wants to make a mistake and go with an inefficient distribution system, that's his right as an American," says Jackson, showing he feels he has little to fear from the electric automaker.
