This Volkswagen 21 Window walk-thru bus is a rare find. While it is obvious that it is a project, it's has a lot of potential to be a big dollar bus. This is an ORIGINAL 21 Window bus - not a fake.

This unique, early walk-through '64 has ice-pick door handles and desirable mouse-grey & Pearl white color combination.  Original front seats have most of the original upholstry in-tact. I have a rear seat, but in rough shape. I have all the of metal needed to replace the cargo floor and sky-light sections. I have almost all the original glass for the bus as well.

Frame is solid - a couple outriggers will need replaced. Pans are mostly solid with the need of a few patches here and there. Overall the bus will need work, or, get it running as-is for little cost and you will have a great "rat rod" bus. The sunroof section currently has a corregated metal panel it in to protect it from further damage inside.

If you would like more pics, please let me know exactly what you would like to see and I can send it to you. I will not be able to provide pics of every square inch of the bus - but should be able to give you a very good idea of what you are getting.

No Engine and no title at this time - if a title is wanted, it will take about 2 weeks to go through the process in UT. If you need an engine I may be able to track one down as well - both will be additional cost.

Vehicle is sold as/is - no warranty implied or expressed. Will assist in shipping by helping load the vehicle with a shipping company you find and contract with.

I reserve the right to pull the listing down at any time since it is also for sale in a few different locations. Bid today before it's gone!

UK auto magazine says this is the best car commercial of all time [w/videos]

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

There have been many great car commercials over the years, but is it possible to define the best? Well, Ad Week recently took a crack at it by rating the top commercials of the year by looking at their view counts on YouTube, but Auto Express took a more democratic approach by putting the decision to a vote. Just after Thanksgiving, Auto Express came up with a list of the 20 popular commercials, and it tasked its readers with choosing the winner for the best car ad of all time. The winner? Honda's 2003 commercial for its then-new European Accord titled "The Cog."
While the ad never aired in the US, most car people have surely seen the impressive Rube Goldberg-style spot. In fact, the only commercial on this list that we saw on US television was the Volkswagen ad "The Force," but many of the others have become viral videos, including transforming and dancing Citroën C4. Of the 19 other commercials that vied for the title of best ad of all time, only the Ford Puma "Steve McQueen" commercial gave Honda a run for its advertising money.
Scroll down to watch Auto Express' top five commercial in order and to check out a press release, then let us know some of your favorite car commercials in Comments.

Next Volkswagen Golf R to get 286 horsepower?

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf hasn't launched in the United States just yet, but we're already setting our sights on the range-topping R model. According to Autocar, the next Golf R will be more powerful than the current version, producing 268 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful production Golf ever.
Powering the new Golf R will be a further evolution of Volkswagen's well-liked 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four, and when mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, the hotter hatch will reportedly be able to sprint to 62 miles per hour in five seconds flat. That's over half a second quicker than the current US-spec model.
Other updates for the new Golf R include the addition of VW's Haldex 5 all-wheel-drive system found in the latest iteration of 4Motion. Furthermore, thanks to the use of lightweight materials, the new R is expected to weigh in around 2,650 pounds - that's a massive 675 pounds less than the current US-spec car. The exhaust has reportedly been reworked to provide more aural delight, as well.

Next-gen Volkswagen Golf R spied while running the 'Ring

Tue, 16 Apr 2013

The launch of a new Volkswagen Golf is never a small thing, and things are already looking up for the subcompact hatchback after it was named 2013 World Car of the Year. While we've already seen the base and GTI versions of the next-generation Golf, now we're getting our first look at the sportier Golf R.
Although this prototype wears GTI lettering on the front fenders, it's more than just the roll cage and Sparco racing seat hinting that this is something a little more serious. Unlike the Golf and GTI, this car shows that the Golf R will continue to flaunt massive air intakes on each side of the fascia, and the rear of the car (though it's hard to see) has quadruple exhaust outlets. We still don't have an official word on power, but rumors indicate that the next Golf R could be pushing close to 300 horsepower, making it the most powerful production Golf ever. As much fun as we had during our first drive of the Golf R Cabriolet in the cold, snowy French Riviera last month, more power is a warming idea.
