Vw Beetle Convertible - Light Blue on 2040-cars
Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States
This Volkswagen New-Beetle 2005 Convertible is in perfect condition. It did not have any accidents, major damages, or whatsoever. (As seen in the history report, a accident / damage was reported. This accident was minor, and so didn't cause any problems to the car, and it will not in the future.) As said higher up in this listing, it had a small crack in the windshield. This windshield, however, was replaced directly.
As seen in one of the pictures, to the left of the steering wheel, a little, clear, suction pad is places, such that suction cups, of navigation and / or phone stands, could be placed on it. In one of the last pictures, the trunk is shown with a 'hole' in the middle of the trunk. This is an opening from the trunk to the bench in the back of the vehicle, which allows you to put ski's, and / or other long(er) objects in the car. Also, in the trunk itself, an extra tire with tools is included. Radio works perfect, 6 different CD's can be put into the CD player, and also the heated seats, AC, and heat makes a very comfortable ride. This Beetle has a very rare color, which makes your ride even better, as you're the only one on the road with such a beautiful color. The pictures also show a lot of silver plates, stripes, covers etc., which gives the Beetle a beautiful, and sporty look. All these accessories are original, and so made especially, and only, for the VW Beetle. These weren't inexpensive at all, which states that the car has been taken, really, good care off, which, in turn, explains its very good condition. This Beetle may be a little older, but it only has been driven for 54,196 miles, as of right now. Obviously, this will go up by a few miles, as I hope to drive in it as long as it's not sold. So the sooner you buy this vehicle, the less miles are on the odometer, the more you profit! As seen in the history report, this car ranks 78, which is majorly high. Again, this states that this car is in perfect condition, and so sold for a bargain. I wouldn't expect this decision to be very hard!(: Please contact me by phone, 269 599 9615 (or 269 348 5035), email preferred. |

When Android Automotive goes in the dash, Google wins — and automakers lose data
Tue, May 22 2018You've gotta hand it to Google for the way the Silicon Valley tech giant has made indelible inroads into the car on multiple fronts. The most obvious is with its pioneering self-driving car technology that's caused car companies to get their act together on autonomous vehicles — and also collaborate with Google. Google has more directly extended its influence and data-mining capabilities into the car with its Android Auto smartphone-projection platform that most major automakers have adopted along with Apple's CarPlay. And now it's preparing to dig even deeper into dashboards by deploying its open-source operating system, Android Automotive, beginning with Audi and Volvo. Volvo recently announced that its next-generation Sensus infotainment system will run Android Automotive as an OS and include Google's Play Store for cloud-based content, Maps for navigation and Google Assistant for voice recognition, which can even command a car's climate control. By embedding Google in the dash, Volvo says owners will get an improved connected experience. "Bringing Google services into Volvo cars will accelerate innovation in connectivity and boost our development in applications and connected services," Volvo senior vice president of R&D Henrik Green said in a statement. "Soon, Volvo drivers will have direct access to thousands of in-car apps that make daily life easier and the connected in-car experience more enjoyable." Having Android Automotive onboard could benefit drivers — and provide a big win for Google, since it opens a deep and lucrative new data-mining vein for the company. But it's a wave of a white flag for car companies when it comes to delivering their own cloud-based content and services. It also represents a massive data giveaway and, for Audi, a reversal of earlier reservations about letting Google get too much access to car data. Not long after Android Auto and Apple CarPlay were introduced in 2014 and most automakers eagerly embraced the technologies, several German automakers second-guessed their decision when they realized what was at stake: data. At a conference in Berlin in 2015, Audi CEO Rupert Stadler said car owners "want to be in control of their data, and not subject to monitoring." A few months earlier, Stadler stated that "the data that we collect is our data and not Google's.
VW to relax ambitious US sales targets?
Fri, 16 May 2014The Volkswagen brand sold 407,704 cars last year, a 6.95-percent decline compared to 2012, and it's down a further 8.36 percent through the end of April 2014 compared to this time last year. In order to to put the sales football between its Strategy 2018 goal posts, the brand would need to add 100,000 more sales every year to achieve the lofty 800,000-unit target. Coming to grips with how unreasonable that is, VW US CEO Michael Horn has said, "For now, we have to have realistic targets."
The reasons for the brand's slow-down are imprecise, but lots of folks are throwing lots of reasons around. Last November, VW Group Chairman Ferdinand Piech told Bloomberg, "We understand Europe, we understand China and we understand Brazil, [but] we only understand the US to a certain degree so far." Analysts say the brand hasn't had midsize and compact SUV offerings, especially an overdue retail version of the CrossBlue, and the ones it does have are priced too high for their segments. It "didn't introduce enough new engines, or alternative technologies or model variants" for the Passat and Jetta. It devoted so many resources to China that the US market suffered. It was being outspent two-to-one on advertising by competitors. Its J.D. Power dependability ratings aren't high enough to overcome its past. It "has never really taken the US customer seriously." And so on.
There's still no official admission of defeat concerning the target, but reading between the lines there are some VW execs that appear to accept it won't happen short of some deus ex machina. Still,
Meet ZelectricBug, the amazing '63 VW Bug converted to EV power
Thu, Feb 27 2014No word a lie, we here at AutoblogGreen are fans of classic cars. What we are not fond of, however, is the pollution that their inefficient engines create, and so it's great to see our old favorites lovingly up-cycled with electric drivetrains. The ZelectricBug is a beautiful example of how new, cleaner life can be breathed into an old Volkswagen Beetle. Now, we first came across this particular automobile during the Refuel event last summer and we were struck by its cleanly done conversion then. Aside from a few snaps in our gallery, though, we didn't give it the kind of attention it deserves. Fortunately, the good folks over at Roads and Rides have rectified this by turning their pro video camera skills onto the 1963 V-Dub and producing a nice little segment to accompany their write up. Scroll below to see the finished footage and head over to their website for some stills. If all this gives you a hankering for your own Zelectric, the company does have plans to sell to the public starting this summer. If you don't want to wait, EV West, the guys who did the drivetrain work on this car, have conversion kits available for Beetles, as well as a number of other vehicles.
