2005 Vw Beetle Convertible on 2040-cars
Charleroi, Pennsylvania, United States
I've owned this car for about 2 years and it is my daily driver. Garage kept and always cared for (oil changes, waxed, ect.). It's very depenable and I've never had any issues with it except for routine maintainance. It currently has 59,900 miles on it and will be at 60k + when the auction ends. It's in very nice condition. AM/FM CD player, heated leather seats, ice cold air, good tires, cruise controL. Only 1 key (with folb) comes with the car. Comes with a boot for the top that is not pictured. It runs and drives great. As far as the convertible top goes it goes down at the push of a button but you have to have the top down for about 15 minutes before you can push the button for it to return to the closed position and I don't know why but it always goes back up after wards. It's clean and was never smoked in. It is a standard shift, standard shift, standard shift so please remember this if you cannot drive a stick. The primary reason why I am selling this car is that I simply never drive with the top down. Because of my job I am always carrying paperwork and other bits. Anything light will fly right out with the top down. It's a nice car, the fellow I bought it from always garaged it. All oil changes were synthetic oil. It runs very well with good gas mileage but because it is used it is sold as is. I've described everything as well as possible so please ask questions if you are interested.

Italian investigators search Lambo headquarters in VW probe
Thu, Oct 15 2015Italian investigators searched Lamborghini headquarters on Oct. 15 to look for evidence of managers' involvement in Volkswagen's emissions cheating. VW's main office in Verona was also inspected, according to Reuters. Lamborghini is owned by Volkswagen, and Lambo in turn is listed as the owner of VW Group Italia. Authorities wanted to find out if employees were conscious that the vehicles were skirting emissions rules. "It is one thing if I sell water and pretend it's wine, but if I sell water believing it is wine it's different." Verona chief prosecutor Mario Giulio Schinaia said to Reuters. Italian newspaper Gazetta del Sud reported that several managers in Italy were under investigation for alleged fraud. Prosecutors in Germany have also been rigorously investigating VW, and they recently staged a similar raid on the company's headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany. The automaker reportedly turned over documents and other data relating to the software defeat device. Meanwhile, VW's internal investigation has turned up little wrongdoing, though a recent leak suggested otherwise, and at least 30 managers could have known about the defeat device. The automaker has disputed that figure. Volkswagen of America CEO Michael Horn testified before Congress that he believed only a few individuals were involved. The situation hasn't been easy on VW in the US, either. The Department of Justice has also been pursuing an investigation into the automaker. Plus, state attorneys general are filing lawsuits against the company for defrauding customers. VW has until Nov. 20 to explain a repair for the problem to the California Air Resources Board. IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013
Wed, 02 Jan 2013The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.
