NO ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION!!! Project vehicle that will need towed. I can help push it on trailer but winch would be best.

**** RELISTED DUE TO REFUSAL TO PICKUP **** (I can't wait forever!)

Please don't bid if you don't intend to buy (meaning you intend to drive to Indianapolis with a trailer to buy a vehicle that doesn't have an engine or transmission or intercooler!)

Hi.  Selling a 2000 VW Beetle TDI automatic that donated its engine to another project (Vanagon mTDI).  Only includes body as the transmission has already been sold.  I've owned this car since 2008 and she was a great running car as you can see in the attached video of her last day on the road.  A year ago I had the AC Compressor and dryer replaced (looking for receipt but remember it was $1100), when I removed the engine I tied the AC compressor to the body and kept it charged for you.  Should be able to attach engine and blow cold air!  I replaced everything front suspension last year and then accidentally took the train tracks by my house to fast and killed the struts, so that will need repaired if you want this for more than the body.  Hood does latch it just wasn't for the pictures, tiny plastic clip for release broke when removing engine so I left it open. She was in a minor accident a few years ago that tore the front bumper cover and dinged the hood, real bumper under the cover looks untouched.  Interior is fair, the leather on the door panels is loose but seats are nice except for small tear on drivers side (back seat is not in the pictures but has recently been installed).  If you have any questions feel free to ask or make me an offer!   Car is located in Indianapolis, INDIANA and I only accept pickup. Cash, or Paypal payment only.  NO SHIPPING!!

YES, This is the 4th time trying to sell this car. All I require is the deposit, and follow thru with the pickup with the remaining balance. SIMPLE.

I went out to the car for a total missing list:
-Engine
-Transmission
-Intercooler
-Radiator Fan
-Diesel Fuel Cooler

I am not removing parts from this car. It is just sitting in my garage taking up space! Engine was removed in April and it has been garage kept since. Looks like we bumped one of the brake lines by the master cylinder when removing engine, it still holds pressure but I would replace it before hitting the road. Car comes with an extra rim and tire but needs atleast 2 tires.

Vehicle Purchase Plan: -$200 Paypal Non-Refundable deposit due within 48 Hours.
-Remaining balance due at pickup (Cash or Paypal)
-Pickup within 10 days in Indianapolis, INDIANA MUST PICKUP BY 11/17/13 at 11PM!!! I can't wait longer for pickup.

Former Audi chief designer Wolfgang Egger leaves Italdesign

Sat, Dec 27 2014

The latest word from the international community of automotive designers has it that Wolfgang Egger is leaving Italdesign, but just where the accomplished designer will land next and who will take his place remain big question marks. Egger is a designer who has bounced back and forth between Italy and Germany over the course of his career. He was born in Germany but studied in Milan. He began his career at Alfa Romeo in 1989 and was named its chief designer by 1993 before being head-hunted by the Volkswagen Group in 1998 to head up the design department at Seat. A few years later he went returned to Italy to run the Lancia design department, and was subsequently renamed to the same post at Alfa Romeo. In 2007 he went back to his native Germany to head up the Audi design office, over which he assumed complete responsibility by 2012, but left Audi in 2013 to run Italdesign. For those unfamiliar, Italdesign is the studio founded by Giorgetto Giugiaro (pictured at left next to Egger) back in 1968 but which, along with many other Italian design houses, fell on hard times in recent years. The Volkswagen Group swooped in to rescue the troubled studio in 2010, turning it into something of an in-house advanced design department to provide an alternative perspective on the direction in which the group and its various brands could take their respective designs moving forward. With Egger now leaving its helm, Italdesign and its German parent company will need to find his replacement, and we're sure they'll announce one in due course. The bigger question on our minds, however, is where Egger himself will head next. Given the path his career has taken to date, we wouldn't be surprised to see him land elsewhere in the Volkswagen Group or find a new role in the expanding Fiat Chrysler Automobiles empire. Then again, Egger could find it time to open an entirely new chapter. Watch this space. Volkswagen breaks 40-year-old sales record in 2012

Sun, 13 Jan 2013

The last time Volkswagen moved this many vehicles in America in one year, Richard Nixon was still a President in good standing, Let It Be was a radio hit and each car wearing the VW badge boasted an air-cooled engine. That's right, with a grand total of 580,286 vehicles sold in the US last year, the VW Group has broken its own four-decades-old sales record by 2,899 vehicles.
Of that 580k total sold, 438k were Volkswagens and 139k were Audi products - increases of 35.1 percent and 18.5 percent, respectively, in year-over-year sales. The ultra-premium members of the VW group also fared well; Bentley delivered 2,315 vehicles for a 23.3-precent increase, and Lamborghini delivered 520 units for a 52.9-percent jump. Bugatti, we're told is "right on track."
Jetta (pictured) sales paced the marque with 170k models sold, and Passat also finished very strong with sales of 117k total. Tiguan also racked up its best year on file, with 31,731 models shifted.

2013 Volkswagen Beetle Turbo Convertible

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

Less Flower, More Power
Pardon our political incorrectness for a moment, but the Volkswagen New Beetle was, undeniably, a "chick car." There was almost nothing that the New Beetle offered to enthusiasts (of either gender), and by the end of its run, VW had even stripped all of the exciting engines from the car's lineup. Looking to resurrect some of the excitement behind the Beetle, the third generation of the iconic car ditched the cuteness when the coupe debuted for 2012, and now the 2013 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible aims to show how much fun drivers can have without a top.
Celebrating almost six and a half decades of the Beetle convertible, Volkswagen is offering a trio of distinct special editions that celebrate three of the car's most popular decades (the '50s, '60s and '70s), but as one of the unofficial cars of the 1960s, it would almost be a crime not to test this version, right? Besides, this is also the only special edition to get the turbocharged engine. While our first drive of the 2013 Beetle Convertible was in the fuel-miser TDI variation, our two-week romp in the 2013 Beetle Convertible '60s Edition came just as peak convertible weather was kicking off down in Florida.
