My 2000 Turbo beetle is a 2 time national show winner. Has been featured at s.e.m.a Vegas a couple years back. Car is originally a 2000 Turbo beetle, car was always clean and undamaged (clean title) before. Car runs and drives fantastic, it is reliable and always garage kept and maintained. This car was professionaly built in 2007 as a advertising tool for a custom auto business, in saying that everything was done w quality work and quality parts. This vehicle is sound and reliable I would drive it anywhere any distance, it would make a fine and fun daily driver. I have priced this custom to sell, it has over 20,000 in parts and hundreds of professional labor hours. Im only looking for a fraction of what I invested
Car has been in storage and was recently brought out cleaned and tuned, oil, plug change to be sold. It has a couple small paint chips here and there from storage. A "quarter" size ding in rear gate. Very minor, but want to be upfront w all aspects. 5 speed man trans. Upgraded Turbo, intercooler, and piping. Kline header w downpipe. A.C full stainless exhaust.Upgraded blow off. Hitachi h.p coils. Remapped computer. Car has full air ride from vi-air. 10 switches, full motion. 2 vi-air pro series compressors w McCain billet air tank. Fast valves. Rides great, drives straight. Brand new koing wheels w new toyo tires. Less than 200 miles. All German or VW parts. Beetle has custom veilside wide body kit, moulder ft and rear. The lower side skirts have been moulder and extended to help recreate the Retro 60's look. 1959 headlights, adapted to h.I.d. The rear taillights are from a 1962 beetle. The working antenna is Frenched into the right side rear fender. The rear classic trim has also been added to the custom made deck. The roof has been moulded and stepped, with a custom rolltop roof and canvas. The hood is custom made to look Retro 60's and is all steel. The rear has had the same treatment. Overall the works give this beetle a one of a kind restore mod look. Paint is house of colors tangerine. The interior is moulded and matched to exterior. Custom dashboard with pod gauges for air system. U.s.b ports added for music and accessories. The sound system is out of this world! Battery, alternator, have been upgraded. 9 subs 10 speaker 4k Watt sound system can be used as a jukebox for cruise ins and beach parties lol! Very nice sound no matter the music type. I'm selling my auto collection due to my recent illness. I don't want to sell it but to make my estate easier on my family it must go. Im sure I may have left out a detail or two. Feel free to ask questions or give me a call. 716-715-327 six. Car is in Hamburg n.y, I will help ship or transport upon payment. |

Import pickup truck-killing Chicken Tax to be repealed?
Tue, Jun 30 2015After over 50 years, the so-called Chicken Tax may finally be going the way of the dodo. Two pending trade deals with countries in the Pacific Rim and Europe potentially could open the US auto market up to imported trucks, if the measures pass. Although, it still might be a while before you can own that Volkswagen Amarok or Toyota Hilux, if ever. The 25-percent import tariff that the Chicken Tax imposes on foreign trucks essentially makes the things all but impossible to sell one profitably in the US, which lends a distinct advantage to domestic pickups. Both the Trans-Pacific Partnership with 12 counties and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the European Union would finally end the charge. According to Automotive News though, don't expect new pickups to flood the market, at least not immediately. These deals might roll back the tariff gradually over time, and in the case of Japan, it could be as long as 25 years before fully free trade. Furthermore, Thailand, a major truck builder in Asia, isn't currently part of the deal, and any new models here would still need to meet safety and emissions rules, as well. Automotive News gauged the very early intentions of several automakers with foreign-built trucks, and they weren't necessarily champing at the bit to start imports. Toyota thinks the Hilux sits between the Tundra and Tacoma, and Mazda doesn't think the BT-50 fits its image here. Also, VW doesn't necessarily want to bring the Amarok over from Hannover. There is previous precedent for companies at least considering bringing in pickup trucks after the Chicken Tax's demise, though. The Pacific free trade deal could be done as soon as this fall, while the EU one is likely further out, according to Automotive News. Given enough time, the more accessible ports could allow some new trucks to enter the market.
VW's Winterkorn tells 20,000 staffers of big cost-cutting plans
Thu, 24 Jul 2014During a gathering of 20,000 Volkswagen Group employees at company headquarters in Wolfsburg, Germany on Wednesday, CEO Martin Winterkorn dropped a bombshell. The boss stated that the automaker isn't operating efficiently enough and admitted the company needs to radically start cutting back to raise its profit margins. To right the ship, Winterkorn has proposed killing off less profitable models and spending less on research and development.
According to Reuters, Winterkorn wants to raise the VW brand's profit margin from about 2.9 percent in 2013 to a target of 6 percent. To make that possible, his plan amounts to increasing cost cutting until Volkswagen reaches about 5 billion euros ($6.7 billion) per year to get things back in order. "Over the short-term, we urgently need more efficiency and higher profit," the CEO said during his speech, according to Reuters.
However, Winterkorn can't make these decisions unilaterally. Volkswagen's works council also has a seat on the supervisory board to represent laborers, and it isn't likely to take the proposed cuts sitting down.
VW builds 250,000th Passat in Chattanooga in just two years
Sun, 26 May 2013It hasn't been without incident or union organizing drive, but the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, TN has built its 250,000 Passat in just a little over two years. The Night Blue Passat TDI with black leather has come just two years and five weeks after the first customer car came off the line on April 18, 2011.
In the last year the plant operated at the 150,000-unit capacity that it was intended for, but the downturn in Passat sales and subsequent worker layoffs mean it will be a challenge to repeat the feat. The plant does have the world's largest solar park, though, and you can't take that away from them.
