I am a dealer that sells Little Guy Teardrop Trailers. This trade came in last week. It was stored in a barn in Julian California so it is truly a "Barn Find". The previous owners gave me all the service records from when the car was originally sold on 5/26/1962. These will be supplied with the car. They also gave me a box of miscellaneous parts that also come with the car. They told me that the car is original except that it has been upgraded to 12 volt. Besides that they said it is original and they would hate to see it chopped up. I am a TRAILER dealer not a vintage car dealer so I will try to describe it the best that I can. Feel free to call to get more specific info.
The miles read 87554 but I would have to think that has been turned over. The paint looks original and shows the patina on the hood. The car needs paint. All the chrome seems to be there but again for a restoration you would need to rechrome. This is a 1962. It needs paint.
There is no visible rust and underneath looks wonderful to me. The car starts every time and goes through all the gears like I would expect. Brakes seem fine. The people that traded it in had to drive it about 90 miles to bring it here. It drives fine. It does need paint.
I have not done anything to it (thanks to the Antique Road Show) no wax, nothing since I don't know what I would be doing and a restorer would want to see it the way it came out of the barn. It needs paint.
Glass looks to be the original German but again I am not a pro. It has California black plates. Feel free to call and ask anything.
I am selling it as a no reserve auction. Buyer will be responsible for transportation from San Diego. $1,000 deposit will be required within 4 days of winning the auction and full payment within 10 days. Because I am a dealer California buyer will be subject to Doc fees of $65 a $15 license transfer fee and tax based on where you live if you are a California resident. Also this car is ACTIVELY FOR SALE so we reserve the right to end the auction early if it is sold at the shop.
Feel free to call 858 229-0558 or e-mail at LittleGuyTrailers@sbcglobal.net or stop by and see it. 8148 Ronson Rd. Ste A, San Diego, CA

Honda wins Commercial of the Decade, but not for the ad you think [w/VIDEO]
Fri, 18 Dec 2009Honda's Commercial of the Decade: "Grrr" - Click above to watch video
The mad men at Adweek recently voted for the Commercial of the Decade (Super Bowl commercials not included) and Honda took top honors over memorable ads from the last ten years by companies like Nike, Budweiser and Sony. That's not a big surprise considering Honda often puts a huge amount of effort into its on-air spots. However, the Japanese automaker didn't win for the commercial you might have expected: "Cog." Though Honda's famous commercial that breaks down a European Accord Tourer into a Rube Goldberg-esque machine was also a finalist, it was beaten by another Honda commercial called "Grrr" that's narrated by Garrison Keillor of all people. You've probably never seen it, but you can after the jump.
Volkswagen also made the list of finalists, but the particular ad chosen out of all the comical VW ads we've seen was unexpected as well. Most surprising carmaker with a commercial in the finals: Saturn. Who knew...
Honda, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Mercedes also under diesel emissions scrutiny
Sat, Oct 10 2015The controversy over Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal isn't limited to the US. In Europe, where diesel engines are far more popular, the issue is shining a harsh light on the NEDC emissions test. As already known, the evaluation does a poor job of reflecting real-world production of NOx, and it appears a significant number of automakers are affected. The Guardian in the UK has been reporting on real-world test results from a company called Emissions Analytics. After the latest round of checks, vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Mazda and Mitsubishi were found to generate far more NOx than they should. The newspaper also published similar results for Renault, Nissan, Hyundai, Fiat, Volvo, Jeep, Citroen, VW, and Audi. On average, the figures are about four times over the limit of producing the pollutant. Unlike VW and its defeat device, these automakers aren't actually breaking the rules. The vehicles perform up to the NEDC lab test for emissions, but those results simply aren't translated to the street. "The VW issue in the US was purely the trigger which threw light on a slightly different problem in the EU - widespread legal over-emissions," Nick Molden from Emissions Analytics said to The Guardian. A big fight to decide the future of this issue appears to be on the horizon. Automakers claim that they can't meet the next round of tightening emissions regulations and are asking for compromises. Although, spokespeople for Mercedes and Honda told The Guardian that the brands would be in favor of the stricter rules. Meanwhile, some European governments began backtracking their support of diesels well before this scandal came to light. The added scrutiny certain hasn't helped the future of the oil-burner. VW investigating Golf water leak discovered by car magazine
Sat, 07 Sep 2013Volkswagen is in a spat with German magazine Auto Bild over claims that its new, seventh-generation Golf may already need a recall. The German weekly reports that new Golfs can leak water into front-passenger footwells due to a faulty drainage tube in their air conditioning systems.
And while the fix itself doesn't sound too terrible, because Volkswagen bases so many cars off the same platform as the Golf, Auto Bild is claiming that 300,000 models could be affected, including the Audi A3 and Seat Leon. That's a very bold claim. For its part, VW is vehemently denying that number, according to Reuters, saying it's aware of the problem and claiming only 46 Golfs need fixing. In addition, it denies that any Audi or Seat models are affected by the issue.
Either way, regardless of how pervasive this leak issue is, North American buyers should rest easy knowing that the problems ought to get fixed by the time the Mk VII Golf finaly reaches our dealerships.
