Runs and looks great. I've upgraded or fixed many things on the car, among them:
- alternator
- SVDA electronic ignition
- rebuilt Bocar 34-PICT-3 carb
- rebuilt rear breaks
- new front tires
- new Scat Pro Car 90 seats
- all electric works - parking lights, wipers, speedo lights, dome light, horn, etc.
- installed sound proofing on floors and Wolfsburg West luggage area sound proofing
- new shocks all around, heavy duty front sway bar w/urethane bushings
- new heat exchangers and working heat
- Empi 5-star rims in great shape, no curb rash; More I'll add later.
- has 2.5" dropped spindles in front. Shoes are less than a year old all around and both rear wheel cylinders are less than a year old as well. Brakes need to be bled, though. Bleeding them has never been my strength, so the pedal goes down further than I'd like.
Also included with the sale will be:
- Original low-back front seats, and the original rear seat bottom (just the frame)
- new Wolfsburg West headliner which I've yet to install
- new mirror for the passenger door, not installed
- a brand new replacement antenna from WW, for looks and to have if you ever decide to install a radio.
- stock/original steering wheel and horn ring
- I will tune up the car before turning it over to the buyer - new plugs, plug wires, adjust the valves, set the timing and idle, check and replace the air filter if needed.
-Bamboo tray is included but not mounted. I placed it there for the pictures.
Other things I've done over the last 12 months:
- new GT 13.5" steering wheel; new shock tower-to-body pads, new front axle to body pads; replaced crappy after-market Chinese window regulators w/original good German ones; installed a shift lock; replaced the 6-volt wiper armature w/a new 12-volt one from Wolfsburg West; new 3-point front seat belts form Wolfsburg West; new floor tar boards from WW too; new WW sun visors; installed new Pertronix SVDA w/Pertronix electronic ignition; installed new Pertronix Flame Thrower coil; found, repainted and installed ALL FACTORY cooling tin, including the cooling flaps and the famous "Hoover bit" for the oil cooler. Cooling flaps bought new from Awesome Powdercoat in Ohio; new front and rear transmission mounts; new trunk seal
Thanks and good luck.

Volkswagen breaks 40-year-old sales record in 2012
Sun, 13 Jan 2013The last time Volkswagen moved this many vehicles in America in one year, Richard Nixon was still a President in good standing, Let It Be was a radio hit and each car wearing the VW badge boasted an air-cooled engine. That's right, with a grand total of 580,286 vehicles sold in the US last year, the VW Group has broken its own four-decades-old sales record by 2,899 vehicles.
Of that 580k total sold, 438k were Volkswagens and 139k were Audi products - increases of 35.1 percent and 18.5 percent, respectively, in year-over-year sales. The ultra-premium members of the VW group also fared well; Bentley delivered 2,315 vehicles for a 23.3-precent increase, and Lamborghini delivered 520 units for a 52.9-percent jump. Bugatti, we're told is "right on track."
Jetta (pictured) sales paced the marque with 170k models sold, and Passat also finished very strong with sales of 117k total. Tiguan also racked up its best year on file, with 31,731 models shifted.
VW readying CC Shooting Brake?
Mon, 11 Feb 2013This was bound to happen. Volkswagen's relentless drive for big volume has the brand mining seemingly every niche it can find for additional sales worldwide. And with its CLS Shooting Brake, fellow countryman Mercedes-Benz has already shown that a wagon based off of a "four-door coupe" can look dead sexy and command extra dollars. So it follows that the Volkswagen CC (whose existence is all but directly attributable to the success of the original CLS sedan) will also get a load-lugging variant. That's according to the UK's Autocar, which notes that the five-door will come in the CC's next generation.
According to the report, the next CC will be available in front and all-wheel drive variants with the usual assortment of gas and diesel four-cylinders found in the Wolfsburg empire, with the possibility of a gas plug-in hybrid model, too. The rakish estate will ride atop VW's MQB architecture, a shorter variant of which is also found underneath the new Golf. The scalable chassis is set to spread like kudzu throughout the company's lineup, but the CC probably won't happen until after the launch of the next European-market Passat in 2015.
Will we get it in North America? Hard to say. Volkswagen sells the standard CC saloon here, but not in particularly large numbers, and when the company moved to a North American-specific Passat, it dumped the wagon variant. The traditional VW estate apparently continues to pick up sales momentum abroad, however, making the CC Shooting Brake a seemingly natural fit for buyers who still want the utility of a two-box form but can afford to sacrifice a bit of cargo room in the name of style.
Volkswagen Passat gets Wolfsburg Edition, priced from $23,495*
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Volkswagen has just announced a new Passat Wolfsburg Edition, which slots between the base S and mid-grade SE trims in terms of content and price. The automaker has not released any official photos of the car as of this writing (aside from the badge shot you see here, of course), but the Wolfsburg Passat will be visually set apart from the rest by a unique set of 16-inch alloy wheels.
The big host of upgrades for the Wolfsburg Edition are found inside, where buyers will enjoy standard amenities like leatherette seats (with bun-warmers on the front chairs), a power driver's seat, satellite radio and a media interface with iPod connectivity. Of course, this comes on top of the already standard Passat features like Bluetooth and auto on/off headlamps. The Wolfsburg Passat will only be available with the 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission.
Look for the 2013 Wolfsburg Edition Passat to hit dealerships in the very near future, priced from $23,495, *not including $795 for destination. Have a look below for Volkswagen's official press blast.
