1978 Volkswagen Super Beetle Base Convertible 2-door 1.6l on 2040-cars
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States
Trim: Base Convertible 2-Door
Make: Volkswagen
Model: Super Beetle
Drive Type: RWD
I bought this car to restore it (meaning to do some upgrades) but, found that I don't have time to do so and decided to sale it.
The engine was rebuilt 3 year ago by the previous owner and runs great. It also had a paint job 3 years ago by the previous owner as well. The tires are in good condition. Very clean inside and the leather is in great condition.
The car is kept in the garage and was only driven in the summer time. ~1,000 miles
The top is in good condition.
Over all the car is in great condition and gets a lot of compliments.
***** I have title in hand for easy transfer to the new owner. *******
Car interior and exterior - known issues
The left side speaker does not work. I believe it could be that the wire is cut. There are no issues with the radio and right side speaker.
The inside of the convertible has a small cut.
The top of the dashboard has a small cut.
The rubber mat on the passenger side has a tear, but that can be covered with some floor mats.
The outside driver rear edge side of the convertible has small tear - This cannot be seen when the top is down.
When I purchased the vehicle three years ago it came with one different tire from the others. I have not had time to change it -- and have not had any issues.

Volkswagen adding R-Line trim to Touareg, Tiguan for 2014
Fri, 11 Jan 2013Volkswagen introduced its aggressive R-Line appearance package on the CC and Beetle last year, but later this year, this treatment will also be applied to VW's crossovers, the Tiguan and Touareg. Both sporty-looking utility vehicles will be unveiled next week at the Detroit Auto Show.
The 2014 Tiguan R-Line comes standard with bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights, and the package adds 19-inch wheels, grey fender extensions, body-color side skirts and a liftgate spoiler. Inside, the R-Line adds a flat-bottom sport steering wheel with paddle shifters, a black headliner and numerous metallic trim accents such as the stainless scuff plates, the aluminum pedals and metallic finish on the instrument and door panels. The Tiguan R-Line will be offered in front- and all-wheel drive configurations.
As for the 2014 Touareg R-Line (shown above), this model gets an ever more distinctive look with an aggressive front fascia, 20-inch wheels and dual oval-shaped exhaust outlets in addition to the painted side skirts and LED taillights. Similar metallic interior trim pieces found inside the Tiguan R-Line will also make their way into the Touareg as well as gloss black accents on the instrument panel and center stack.

MindDrive cruises California with 1972 Karmann Ghia EV
Thu, Jun 26 2014If you need a bit of inspirational EV goodness, spend some time watching the collection of videos we've got for you from Minddrive. Minddrive, as you might remember, is the education mentorship program that "uses real-world issues of our times to teach urban students critical thinking, creativity, entrepreneurship and how to improve their future by expanding their vision for themselves." The focus was on a fully restored 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Well, restored and converted to electric power. The students previously worked on the Lola EV but this year the focus was on a fully restored 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Well, restored and then converted to electric power. In early June, almost 50 Minddrive students and mentors flew from Kansas City to California to visit the epicenter of electric vehicles in the US on something called the "Raise Your Hand Tour." Filmmakers Mark Honer and Kelly Creech from DHTV Digital were along for the ride. The videos below show the students flying from to Oakland, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, presenting the Karmann Ghia at the California Academy of Sciences and then visiting the Monterey Bay EV Club, Google, Twitter and Telsa. All of this EV engagement apparently worked. One of the students, identified only as Xavier, wrote a poem and essay about what the electric vehicle project meant to him. Here's a tease: "Minddrive has honestly opened my eyes to sights and things I would have never thought possible. I have finally found the right path to follow." Read the whole thing below, after the videos. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. This content is hosted by a third party. I used to think that I would never be able to achieve to a greater rank. Always thought that power was given to people with a big bank. Never could imagine that my life would be amazing. Felt that my whole existence was around the weed blazing.
