I am selling my custom 1972 Volkswagon Baja Bug that has very low mileage with a little over 82,000.  This unique black and yellow Baja contains many custom upgrades, including custom matching black and yellow racing seats!  While you are sitting in style, you will enjoy a CD player (XM radio ready) with a custom "Amp"-lified sound system hosting two 9" 2-way speakers and a 10" subwoofer!  As if this isn't fresh enough to jam with style, interior glow and under glow gets this Baja even more attention in the evening.  You can change this glow system to your own personal settings, remaining on one color or alternating through multiple colors and flashes. To put a twist on the old school bug, there are "race car like" characteristics, which include a Tachometer and Oil pressure, Oil temperature and Voltmeter Gauges.  These gauges described previously, similar to the interior and under glow, also illuminate and alternate at preferred colors of your choice.  And to save the best for last, you will be shifting this head turning and show stopping car with a custom GUN HANDLE SHIFTER! Oh Yea!

This Baja is in Great condition when it comes to both body and mechanics.  Floor boards are in great condition, and heat is still in car, It is just disconnected and capped off because i use it as a summer and fall car, very easy to hook back up if you so choose.  Always been garage kept and has never been left out in bad weather or driven in rainy, snowy or any type of bad weather since i have purchased and re-done the car.  Has beautiful paint job and is 98% rust free, but what car that is over 40 years old is 100% rust free.  Engine is in tip top shape and has never been beat on or abused.  With many new upgrades to engine and body.  Some of these upgrades include:  New alternator, New carburetor cover and filter, New oil breather tube, New gas lines, New throttle cable,  New header gaskets and Viper exhaust system, New chrome Baja suspension,   Disassemble of fan shroud and all cleaned.......... and many more.

MindDrive cruises California with 1972 Karmann Ghia EV

Thu, Jun 26 2014

If you need a bit of inspirational EV goodness, spend some time watching the collection of videos we've got for you from Minddrive. Minddrive, as you might remember, is the education mentorship program that "uses real-world issues of our times to teach urban students critical thinking, creativity, entrepreneurship and how to improve their future by expanding their vision for themselves." The focus was on a fully restored 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Well, restored and converted to electric power. The students previously worked on the Lola EV but this year the focus was on a fully restored 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Well, restored and then converted to electric power. In early June, almost 50 Minddrive students and mentors flew from Kansas City to California to visit the epicenter of electric vehicles in the US on something called the "Raise Your Hand Tour." Filmmakers Mark Honer and Kelly Creech from DHTV Digital were along for the ride. The videos below show the students flying from to Oakland, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, presenting the Karmann Ghia at the California Academy of Sciences and then visiting the Monterey Bay EV Club, Google, Twitter and Telsa. All of this EV engagement apparently worked. One of the students, identified only as Xavier, wrote a poem and essay about what the electric vehicle project meant to him. Here's a tease: "Minddrive has honestly opened my eyes to sights and things I would have never thought possible. I have finally found the right path to follow." Read the whole thing below, after the videos. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. This content is hosted by a third party. I used to think that I would never be able to achieve to a greater rank. Always thought that power was given to people with a big bank. Never could imagine that my life would be amazing. Felt that my whole existence was around the weed blazing.

Volkswagen CrossBlue previews a three-row future, diesel-hybrid power [w/video]

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

Volkswagen looks to be getting ready to jump into the large three-row crossover game. The automaker has officially pulled back the curtain on the CrossBlue Concept at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Designers and engineers penned the machine specifically for the Canadian and US markets, and with a plug-in diesel electric hybrid drivetrain, the hulking five-door, at least in concept form, should offer substantially better efficiency than anything else on the market. The drivetrain pairs a 2.0-liter turbo diesel four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for a combined output of 305 horsepower and a ludicrous 516 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed dual-clutch gearbox handles shifting detail, while one electric motor spins the front wheels. The second motor spins the back axle independently, make the CrossBlue a through-the-road hybrid.
As a result, the crossover can pop to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. Perhaps more impressively, the CrossBlue can whir around on all-electric propulsion for up to 14 miles at up to 75 mph. Once the diesel four kicks in, the drivetrain can yield up to 39 mpg, though Volkswagen says the hardware can hit 89 MPGe on a full charge thanks to a 9.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Check out the full press release below for more information.

Editors' Choice: Top Five 2013 Geneva Motor Show Debuts

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

We've returned from a very busy week in Switzerland, and in going back over all of our 75 stories from the Geneva Motor Show, our editors have gathered up their personal favorite debuts from the European expo.
The wonderful thing about the Geneva show is just how wide of an array of vehicles are on display - everything from funny little one-off EVs to the most exotic of supercars to, well, truly ridiculous displays of coachbuilding. And because of that, this list of our editors' favorites might not be as predictable as you think.
But we don't want to give anything away just yet. Scroll down to have a look at our team's favorites from Geneva.
