Before i begin i put the mileage as it is on the odometer but im sure it is that plus at least 100,000 more. This bug is going to be up for auction for this seven days ONLY ! If it does not sell in the 7 days its going to be parted out by day 8. Im not trying to sound rude but i just dont have the room or time to keep dealing with it, i have waaay to many projects on my plate rite now. Also this vehicle will need to be trailered or put on a flat bed, it is NOT road worthy !!One last thing, This beetle has a clear michigan title, the title is the old style Michigan titles that have not been used since the 80,s. The title is also an open title which means that i have not registered it, it has been signed over to me but i have not filled in the blanks. OK ! Now about the bug!  In my opinion this is a great parts bug but as far as restoring it i feel its too far gone. The floors and rockers have been sort of repaired (see picture) someone spent a lot of time doing what they did but its all pretty useless repair and would need to be all torn out.The doors are both in good shape and i dont see any repairs on them. Both door windows roll up and down with a lot of help (they are real tight) both vent windows open and close. Both door locks work from inside but do not work with key. Both door handles work outside and inside. Both doors drop about 1 inch at rear when opened due to door post on car rotted at bottom.Rear deck lid looks good.Front trunk lid has some minor dents and some surface rust but nothing to serious. The trunk lid also does not latch but everything is there, probably just an adjustment.Wiper motor works on both speeds but there are no wiper arms.Windshield has some wiper scratches.rear window has the defroster element in glass and it looks good but i have not tested it.This bug has no brakes! I added some brake fluid and it started to get pressure then lost it.Theres no leaking brake fluid so i think the master cylinder went.Since there is no brake pressure the brake lights also do not work but one tail light does work. Also one head light works.Turn signals dont work. The sunroof opens all the way and closes 99% of the way, it just doesnt seem to want to go that last 1/4 inch to close. The engine runs very strong and doesnt leak or burn any oil.I did just put a new fuel pump on it the past week, which is understandable since it hasnt run in over 20 years! The engine doesnt seem to want to idle to well which is also understandable since it is missing most of the vacuum lines and still has some really old gas still running through the carb. The engine turns on and off from the key but i had to use a remote starter switch to crank the starter.(remote starter switch is NOT included but you can borrow it to get car on trailer) Also the battery is NOT included but you can use it to start it and get it on trailer. The tranny shifts through all gears and the clutch seems fine. The tires are in pretty good shape with lots of rubber and only a little bit of minor dry rot.Three of the tires hold air with no problem but the driver side front one has a bad valve stem and leaks down in about an hour! The rear seat is missing the back of seat, there is only the bottom section.
Well i guess thats about it.You will notice that one picture is of parts, all of those parts are included with the car and i will list them below. I can also offer delivery on an open trailer for $1.00 per mile per mapquest mileage from my address to your address, USA only, sorry but no Canada delivery. If the delivery option is chosen ,the delivery fee will be paid in advance and is NON-REFUNDABLE !!   The winning bidder will pay a NON-REFUNDABLE $100.00 deposit within 24 hours of auction end.Balance to be paid in full within 7 days of auction end.Balance to be paid in CASH at time of pickup.Vehicle is to be removed from my property within 7 days of auction end unless prior agreement has been made BEFORE bidding on car!
Any questions feel free to email me,i will answer usually within 30 minutes. If you want more pictures, please be specific about areas you want pictures of.

eBay Find of the Day: Unrestored Herbie Love Bug movie car

Wed, Dec 10 2014

Well before Cars ever hit the screens, The Love Bug series of Disney films – starring Herbie the VW Beetle with a mind of its own – was an early introduction to cars and racing for many budding auto fans. Not the modern remake starring Lindsay Lohan mind you, but the originals from the '60s and '70s. Now, a seller in Texas claims to be offering a chance to own one of the Bugs from the films on eBay Motors. According to the auction, this Beetle didn't appear in the original film but was built for the sequel Herbie Rides Again in 1972 and also appeared in the third installment Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo. This VW was prepared as the blind-drive car for the movies that attached a low-mounted chair in the back and extended controls to let Herbie look like he was driving himself. Although, some of the photos here show the Bug with regular seats fitted, too. This Herbie was reportedly found in a Florida warehouse a few years ago. It was then made operable, while trying to keep it as original as possible. The exterior underwent a slight restoration with input from former Disney special effects staff, according to the seller. The changes added new graphics and rebuilt the blind drive setup. Judging by these pictures, the rest of the interior was left mostly untouched, though. Of course, anyone interested in buying a movie car is going to want proof of its authenticity. The seller claims to have the original California title showing the buyer as Disney in 1972. The Bug also reportedly has a unique rear decklid that mixes early and later parts to help identify it in the film. As of this writing, bidding for Herbie sits at $55,100 with 82 bids and a reserve not yet met. The sale closes on Saturday, December 13.

FCA to pay buyers $1,700 to swap out of scandal-mired VWs

Tue, Oct 6 2015

FCA is trying to gain some sales from arch-rival VW in the competitive European market by offering potential buyers in Italy up to $1,700 to swap into an FCA group car. While the promotion isn't specifically targeted at TDI owners affected by the emissions scandal, it is clearly intended to turn dissatisfaction with VW's defeat device cheat into additional sales, Bloomberg reports. The 500-1,500 euro incentive (roughly $560-1,700, depending on vehicle) stacks on top of any other rebates or deals applicable, and applies if a buyer brings in any of Volkswagen Group's cars – including Audi, Skoda, and SEAT, among (many) others. As Bloomberg notes, it's normal for automakers to offer "conquest" deals – giving a buyer cash for trading in a competitor's vehicle. Those deals aren't usually limited to one company's products, however; FCA's program looks specifically to take advantage of VW's legal and public relations nightmare. FCA isn't the only automaker trying this trick in Italy. Automotive News Europe also reported that Ford is offering approximately $840 in incentives across its entire range to owners of VW vehicles seeking to trade in for a Ford. No word of yet as to whether these incentives will spread beyond Italy or to other automakers.Related Video:
