For sale is a 2 owner 1969 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible Yellow BUG with Black vinyl seats. The car is in AWESOME shape for the age. I bought the car before Thanksgiving last year and have enjoyed with my family since then. Weather in Florida is PERFECT right now and maybe for another two more months. The guy who sold me was a dealer from Boise, ID, and according to the history the car had been owned by a lady in California who they bought from, and kept for a year. The car is running, and mechanically sound. Gears switch nicely, and all electronics works on the car. It has an Alpine radio/CD player that you can remove the front, and I keep the case on the glove box. All lights are working. The brakes are good. It does not even need an oil change, as I did one in December. It is a perfect car for weekend driving or even a commute car. There is no signs of rust underneath, and I do have pictures to show. The paint is original, and you will see a few touch ups closer, but I would keep it original as it is. The top looks brand new, and works/closes very easily. The only thing I would fix it, is the sunvisor on the driver side: it keeps going down by it self, as it is a little loose, but I think is just a matter of adjusting and I have not gotten to it ( I just placed a small piece of paper to hold it in place as a quick fix, lol ).
I am selling as I need space in my storage next to my office/warehouse address. This is the 3rd time I put it on eBay. The first was last year, and I basically copy/paste just to have a feel of what price I would get. The 2nd time it did not reach what I wanted for the car, so I kept it, and now I'll see if it will go to someone else. Local buyers and test drives are WELCOME. Send me a message thru eBay on contact the buyer, and I'll give you my address or simply call me on my cell (305-613-0224) between 9am until 7pm EST please! I do have a dealer license and I could help local buyer's in registering and title the car here in FL if needed. Price do not include taxes, tag, registration, and title. If you are from outside Florida, no taxes, however you will have to take care on your own State if you intend to register it. It is OK for EXPORT too. As a matter of fact I sold 3 in worse conditions to a couple of guys in Brazil, and that is the reason why I bought this one other than enjoying it off course. I will not finance or help you you find a loan! Please have your funds available! Serious bidders only! I will only release the car and title, after payment is confirmed and cleared.
I could help you find a transporter and get a quote based on your zip code, so shipping is not included. Please have your finances ready, and be serious about it.
If you have any questions about the car or any other thing I may have forgotten to mention, please contact me. HAPPY BIDDING! GOOD LUCK!

VW may move production because of Russia's cutoff of natural gas
Sun, Sep 25 2022Volkswagen AG is exploring ways to counter a shortage in natural gas, including shifting production around its network of global facilities, signaling how the energy crisis unleashed by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine threatens to upend EuropeÂ’s industrial landscape. Volkswagen, EuropeÂ’s biggest carmaker, said Thursday that reallocating some of its production was one of the options available in the medium term if gas shortages last much beyond this winter. The company has major factories in Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which are among European countries most reliant on Russian gas, as well as facilities in southern Europe that source energy from elsewhere. “As mid-term alternatives, we are focusing on greater localization, relocation of manufacturing capacity, or technical alternatives, similar to what is already common practice in the context of challenges related to semiconductor shortages and other recent supply chain disruptions,” Geng Wu, VolkswagenÂ’s head of purchasing, said in a statement. RussiaÂ’s decision to throttle gas supplies to Europe has raised concerns that Germany might be forced to ration its fuel. Recent news that gas storage levels hit 90% ahead of schedule has soothed fears of acute shortages this winter, but Germany faces a challenge in replenishing depleted reserves next summer without contributions from Russia. Southwestern Europe or coastal zones of northern Europe, both of which have better access to seaborne liquefied natural gas cargoes, could be the beneficiaries of any production shift, a Volkswagen spokesman said by phone. The Volkswagen group already operates car factories in Portugal, Spain and Belgium, countries that host LNG terminals. Labor hurdles To be sure, any major production shift away from EuropeÂ’s biggest economy would face significant hurdles. VW has some 295,000 employees in Germany and worker representatives account for around half the companyÂ’s 20-member supervisory board. Any shift in production would likely involve a limited number of vehicles rather than wholesale factory shutdowns. While gas supplies for VWÂ’s plants are currently secured, the company has identified potential savings at its European sites to cut gas consumption by a “mid-double-digit percentage,” said Michael Heinemann, managing director of VWÂ’s power-plant unit. Still, the carmaker said it was concerned about the effect high gas prices could have on its suppliers.
VW confirms development of 10-speed dual clutch, 134-hp/liter diesel
Fri, 26 Apr 2013Each year, the Vienna International Motor Symposium showcases some of the up-and-coming technologies automakers are engineering for the use in passenger cars, and Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn revealed some big developments VW is working on for its future products. Winterkorn discussed a multi-faceted approach that VW is looking to reduce its fleet fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
Some of the bigger news he discussed included a "high-performance" diesel engine that will produce 134 horsepower per liter and a 10-speed DSG automatic transmission. While no specific applications were mentioned, we can only hope this is for the Audi R4 we keep hearing about.
Another topic he touched on that caused us to perk up our ears was had to do with VW's plug-in hybrid technology. While we know the PHEV versions of the Audi A3 and Porsche Panamera are on the way, Winterkorn also said that these two models will be followed up by Golf, Passat, Audi A6 and Porsche Cayenne plug-in models. Scroll down for a press release highlighting the automaker's future fuel-saving initiatives.
