Nice 1968 Volkswagen Beetle. I took this on trade from one of my customers who has had it for quite sometime and drove it all the time.The engine is brand new along with new clutch,rear brakes,new front ball joints.I have the original front and rear bumpers along with 2 new bumpers still in the package.I also have the original wheels and hub caps as pictured.Car runs and drives fine,does need a front end alignment. The speedometer does not work,has new cable in car.Interior is in good condtion for the year,has a couple of wear spots in front seat and one hole in the headliner.I could find no rust in the car.I do have new front brakes and wheel cylinders for the front,brakes work fine these came with the car.I had never driven one of these befors but this car is a hoot to drive I now see why everyone likes these cars.Thanks for looking and good luck.

VW pondering low-cost sub-brand for China?
Wed, 30 Jan 2013More detail is being sketched into the Volkswagen Group's plan to launch a low-cost brand for emerging markets. Late last year a German report quoted a VW rep saying that the brand has been interested in building a no-frills car, the kind that would challenge Dacia and Datsun, for a while. With both Proton and Suzuki effectively out of the partnership picture, a report in Reuters suggests VW could go straight to China, developing a car with its joint venture partners and building and selling it there.
Officially, company CEO Martin Winterkorn said the issue of a model for emerging markets would be decided this year but VW isn't any closer to confirming any kind of plan for a car in its portfolio underneath the Up!, remarking to Reuters about the China possibility, "That's an issue we're currently looking at."

North American car buyers get a bit of a slap in the face when it comes to delivery schedules for new the Volkswagen Golf and pumped-up GTI models. We'll just repeat the old chestnut: It's worth the wait... even though it still stinks. This time around, Western Europe is taking deliveries of the new Golf as we speak, and GTI deliveries start between May and July. North America doesn't get the Mk7 Golf or GTI until about July of 2014.
So we approached our first drive of the new GTI with this chip on our shoulder: "You're making us wait? Well, then at least give us the exact car we'll be able to buy. No compromises, mein freund." And so it was that we extracted nearly all of our drive impressions from behind the wheel of what, for the United States, will technically be a model year 2015 two-door Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance with the standard six-speed manual.
