Beautiful 1966 black beetle. Very straight car in excellent condition. New tires, new paint, brakes, shocks, front drums, wheel bearings, New red interior from Wolfsburg west, new carpet, new headliner. New stainless trim, new running boards, The engine is the original 1300 matching numbers as well as the frame and body. Engine fires right up and runs great, shifts smooth. It has some new chrome and the original German bumpers also had the vw hubcaps re chromed. We put smoothie wheels on the car and had them blasted and repainted two tone black and ivory. I just like the smoothies better than the slotted 66 wheels with flat hubcaps. Some things that the car could use, a spare tire and wheel, have door locks keyed, the radio turns on but the speaker is shot. The car has a salvaged title do to being stolen about 20 some years ago. I have title in hand and in my name. This car has spent its whole life in southern California and it has absolutely no rust. The car has never been wrecked. However it was originally bahama blue. You won't be disappointed. In the photos I put some original dmv clear black California plates on the car they will go with the car but you'll need to register them, they have the 1966 sicker YOM. Former chairman Piech opposing his nieces' VW board nominations

Someone needs to option the rights to the Ferdinand Piech story for an HBO series, because it perfectly mixes the corporate intrigue of Mad Men with the family drama of The Sopranos. Plus there are some cool cars. In the latest episode, Piech isn't happy with Volkswagen's appointment of two of his nieces – Julia Kuhn-Piech and Dr. Louise Kiesling Â– to replace he and his wife on the automaker's supervisory board. The recently ousted chairman could try to stop them. According to German publication Bild, Piech thinks his two relatives lack the necessary automotive experience to serve on the board. Therefore, he suggests one-time Ford Premier Automotive Group boss Wolfgang Reitzle and former Siemens manager Brigitte Ederer to take the seats. However, a VW spokesperson told Automotive News Europe that there were no objections to the women's appointment, except for this story from Germany. Piech's nieces are already officially appointed to the VW supervisory board, and it's approved by the Braunschweig Local Court in Germany. His only real option to challenge them would be to file a lawsuit, according to Automotive News Europe. While the new appointees don't have their uncle's decades of history in the auto industry, they do have business experience. Dr. Kiesling has a degree in vehicle design from the Royal College of Art in London and is the managing director of an Austrian textile maker. Kuhn-Piech works in real estate sits on the supervisory board of German truck maker Man.

VW may make Bentley a subsidiary of Audi

FRANKFURT — Volkswagen plans to make British luxury carmaker Bentley a subsidiary of its Audi division as it seeks economies of scale among its top-end brands, German trade publication Automobilwoche reported. Bentley, for now overseen by the head of VW's Porsche business, Oliver Blume, will from next year be part of Audi, where VW group Chief Executive Herbert Diess believes it has more potential, Automobilwoche cited company sources as saying. Synergies could include using Audi technology for a new Bentley SUV, it added. Volkswagen, which declined to comment on the report, is reviewing the future of its high-performance brands Lamborghini, Bugatti and Ducati motorcycles as part of broader quest for more economies of scale as it shifts to mass producing electric cars.
