1962 Vw With Ragtop And New/used Parts on 2040-cars
Saint Charles, Missouri, United States
For Sale is a 1962 Volkswagen Beetle Sedan with an original ragtop. This bug came from FL. When I bought this bug I had the intensions of turning it into a Herbie car. The body/fenders/hood & trunk lid, hood, & wheels and seats were taken off and sandblasted in and out. It has always been in my garage with just light surface rust. Sand and prime. It has new floor boards, luggage rack, front trunk clip and one heater channel for the year of the bug already welded into place. All the replacement parts are of higher grade. The passenger side heater channel needs to be welded in to place and there is one small section of the front lower inner fender well that needs to be fixed that you can see in one of the pictures. It well need a small amount of body work then paint. All the fenders/doors look good. The floor and front end has already been painted a gloss black. Comes with a brand new transmission/axels that's already in place. Has all new brakes, and drums/bearings/seals/shocks. I do have all of the original glass except for the drivers and passengers side windows. I have all 4 original fenders, hood & trunk lid. Comes with the steering column & some of the stainless trim window pieces, front and back seats, gas tank, & gauges, front blinkers and back tail lights, head lights, pedals, that were in the car when I got it. Does come with a 1200cc complete motor that was in a baha. I have not heard it run but does turn over. The new motor is a 12 volt 1600 cc dual port turn key motor that has been rebuilt with all new parts and with 0 miles, This matches the trans that's listed above and that's in the car now. I have a new interior kit which includes, carpet, seat covers, head liner, door panels, handles, & grab handles. Also have new front and rear lights, both front and back German bumpers, and Running boards, New Door handles, bolt kit, complete 12 volt wiring kit, seals, top, 2- new tires, complete extra ragtop, and a bunch of used parts for the same year. There is extra wheels, hood, trunk lid, gas tanks, and a lot more new and used parts. With everything combined I have well over $11,000 invested. For serious buyers only. If you need any pictures of the parts, just ask. VW is originally from FL VW Body will be wire/bolted to frame and will have all 4 steel rims so it could be loaded onto a trailer for transport. Selling VW in "As is Condition" There is a $200.00 down payment due through Pay-Pal after auction ends that is non refundable. Rest to be paid by cash only at time of pick up. I will not take any form of a check. When I bought this car it came with a Florida title that has been signed, but not dated. I never had it titled in my name. You will have no problems getting this titled in your name. If you have questions just ask, I will do my best to answer any questions. |

The best cars we drove this year
Tue, Dec 30 2014Six hundred and fifty. That's roughly how many cars pass through the hands of Autoblog editors every year, from the vehicles we test here at home, to the cars we drive on new product launches, testing roundups, long-term cars, and so on. Of course, our individual numbers vary due to several reasons, but at the end of the day, our team's repertoire of automotive experience is indeed vast. But let's be honest, some cars certainly stand out more than others. So as the year's about to turn, and as we're readying brand-new daily cat calendars for our cubicles, our editors are all taking time to reflect on the machinery that made this year so special, with one simple, open-ended question as the guide – a question that we're asked quite frequently, from friends, family, colleagues, and more. "What's the best car you drove this year?" Lamborghini Huracan When I review the list of everything I drove in 2014, picking an absolute favorite becomes almost impossible. I mean, how does one delineate between the joy offered by cars as different as the Alfa Romeo 4C, Volkswagen Golf R, Mercedes-AMG GT S and even the humble-yet-wonderful Chevy Colorado? Okay fine, I'll just pick the Lamborghini. I drove the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 on a racetrack, in the mountains, and along southern coast of Spain. It felt like the king of the car jungle in all of those places, sucking the eyeballs of observers nearly out of their heads as it drove by, and almost melting my brain with its cocktail of speed and grip and intense communication. It feels a little easy to say that the one new supercar I drove this year was also my favorite, but the fact is that the Huracan is one of the finest cars I've driven during my career, let alone 2014. Judge me if you must. – Seyth Miersma Senior Editor Rolls-Royce Wraith There are a couple of ways to look at the question, "What's the best car you drove this year?" In terms of what was so good I'd go out and buy one tomorrow, that'd be my all-time sweetheart, the Volkswagen GTI. Or if I'm just talking about sheer cool-factor, maybe something like the Galpin GTR1, BMW i8, or Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. But instead, I'm going to write about the sheer opulence of being the best of the best. The hand-crafted, holier-than-thou, shut-your-mouth-when-I'm-talking-to-you supremacy. I'm picking the Rolls-Royce Wraith. I drove the Wraith for a week in April, and was really, really impressed. This car does everything, perfectly.
TRANSLOGIC 150: Volkswagen XL1
Mon, Feb 24 2014How do you build the world's most fuel-efficient production car? Start with the world's most aerodynamic design. The Volkswagen XL1 is capable of 261 miles per gallon thanks to its sleek shape and ultra efficient plug-in diesel hybrid powertrain. The downside is that only 250 will be made and none will be sold stateside. That didn't stop us from taking our turn behind the wheel of this truly revolutionary ride.
