For Sale is a 1962 Voltswagen Beetle Sedan with a ragtop. I bought this with the intensions of turning it into a Herbie car. The body/fenders/hood & trunk lid, hood, & wheels was taken off and sandblasted in and out. It has always been in my garage with just light surface rust. Sand and prime. It has new floor boards, luggage rack, front trunk clip and one heater channel already welded into place. The other heater channel needs to be welded in to place and there is one small section of the front lower inner fender that needs to be fixed. It well need small amount of body work then paint. All the fenders/doors look good. The floor and front end has already been painted a gloss black. The motor is a brand new turn key 1600 cc dual port motor, the transmission is also brand new. All of the brakes, and drums/lines/bearings/seals/shocks are brand new along with all new interior, carpet, complete wiring kit, seat covers, new German chrome front and back bumpers & running boards, lights/buckets, seals, hubcaps, and extra new body parts, has 2-new tires. All the parts are brand new in boxes. Do have some of the original glass. There are extra parts like wheels, I think there are two more complete ragtops, front and back seats, drums, gas tanks, brake pedals, trunk lid & hood and other small parts from another bug. I am sure that I'm missing something. It wont take much to finish this bug. Once its done you could make a few hundred bucks. I don't have the time right now to get it done, and If i does not sell, I'll push it into a conner and finish it at a later date. I have way over in cost then what my start price is. My lost your gain!

VW Body will be bolted to frame and will have all 4 steel rims so it could be loaded onto a trailer for transport.

Selling all together, dont even ask to me sell certain parts, its all or nothing!

I do not show any pictures of the extra parts listed above. The pictures are of the new/old parts of what you do see. If your serious about this bug and want to see pictures I will be glad to take some and send them to you.

When I bought this car it came with a title that has been signed, but not dated. I never had it titled in my name. You will have no problems getting this titled in your name.

If you have questions just ask, I will do my best to answer any.

Watch the VW E-Golf get made

Fri, Jun 13 2014

If you've ever been on a tour of an automotive factory, you know how mesmerizing it can be to see humans and robots work together to build our four-wheeled friends. The swift automation, the cleanliness, the trained hands deftly fitting pieces together and watchful eyes inspecting every piece of the car, it's all quite impressive, especially if the vehicle is one you, as an observer, are fond of. Even just seeing a fresh, gleaming badge being applied to immaculately painted sheet metal is enough to curl ones toes. Such is the case with this video from of the E-Golf being pieced together in the Volkswagen's Wolfsburg plant. There's no narration or music - just the sounds of production - so it's easy to follow the singular motions that go into the process without distraction, with a slight sense of actually being on the floor. This solo video is only seven minutes long, so it's not quite the epic that was the BMW i3 production series. Therefore, we miss a lot of the initial build, such as pressing the sheet metal, painting, and putting together a lot of the inner workings. What is refreshing to see is how much of the final touches of the electric Golf are done by hand using actual hand tools (and with typical German efficiency). There's even a person riding a bicycle through the factory at one point, which is common at Wolfsburg and also rather quaint. Enjoy the video below, and if you have a suggestion for a good soundtrack to go along with it, sound off in the comments. This content is hosted by a third party. VW confirms three-row Tiguan to be built in Mexico

Tue, Mar 10 2015

Volkswagen has been toying with the idea of a three-row crossover for some time – as evidenced by the CrossBlue concept in 2013 and the Magellan concept way back in 2002. But now the German automaker is bringing it to fruition, and it's doing so right in our back yard (or across the fence, anyway). In its latest announcement, VW confirmed recent reports that it will build a new three-row Tiguan at its plant in Puebla, Mexico. It will be made alongside the Golf and Jetta at the company's largest assembly plant outside of Germany, after a billion-dollar expansion program that will encompass nearly a million more square feet of space and employ some 2,000 workers. Once production of the new Tiguan comes on full steam in 2017, the plant will be pumping out 500 of them every day to be delivered in the Americas, but also exported to markets overseas (save for China and Europe). At that point, VW will be producing 90 percent of its products for North America locally. Of course this won't be the first time Volkswagen will be producing a Tiguan. The current model was introduced in 2007 and underwent a facelift in 2011, but includes only two rows of seating and is imported to North America from factories overseas. VOLKSWAGEN DE MEXICO TO PRODUCE THE NEW THREE-ROW TIGUAN IN ITS PUEBLA ASSEMBLY PLANT Mar 9, 2015 - Investment of $1 billion at Puebla plant - US-CEO Michael Horn: Localization key to safeguard our competitive position - Start of production end of 2016 Puebla/Herndon, March 9, 2015 – Volkswagen de Mexico announced today that a three-row version of the Tiguan will be produced at its plant in Puebla, Mexico. The car will be launched to the markets in 2017. The company will invest $1 billion for the expansion and modernization of its production facilities at the Puebla plant, as well as tooling to produce auto parts at suppliers. Volkswagen de Mexico's strategy of technological upgrading, which started with the production of the new Golf on the Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB) platform, goes to the next step with the new Tiguan. "Localization has become key to safeguarding our competitive position on the global market and manufacturing the Tiguan in Mexico will bring production closer to the U.S.-market," said Michael Horn, president and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America. "It is another proof point that Volkswagen is committed to further growth in the U.S. and North American markets.

EU formally questions French government assistance of Peugeot's finance arm

Fri, 28 Dec 2012

Recently, the finance arm of PSA/Peugeot-Citroën was in such debt trouble that it was pricing itself out of the car loan market. The rates it was paying to service its debt, which was rated one step above junk, were so high that it was forced to charge car-buying customers higher rates than they could find elsewhere. This was adding to Peugeot's already impressive woes by sending revenue out the door to competitors.
Two months ago a deal was worked out with the French government whereby the state would provide 7 billion euro ($9 billion USD) in bonds to guarantee the finance arm's loans. The French government could nominate someone to join the Peugeot board, Peugeot would guarantee more French jobs, and on top of that deal, other banks would provide non-guaranteed loans. The government would take no equity stake in the car company.
Although not yet finalized, the arrangement is meant to create some breathing room for Peugeot Finance to lower its interest rates for customers, and a government-nominated board member, Louis Gallois, was recently named to Peugeot's supervisory board. The arrangement was also openly questioned by at least three competitors: Ford, Renault - which is 15-percent owned by the French government after it received state aid - and the German state of Lower Saxony, itself a 15-percent shareholder in Volkswagen.
