A rare example of a British roadster classic. This '79 MKIV Spitfire has been meticulously maintained by its current owner for the past four years after purchase from its previous owner who did major renovation in 2008. Since I acquired the car, it has received numerous upgrades and customizations by Specialty Sports Cars of Columbus. Recent improvements include lowering the front end to factory specs, a new engine (approximately 7,000 miles), installed electronic Overdrive available in both 3rd and 4th gear (essentially a 6 speed manual), new convertible top, gas tank, three point seat belts, customized roll bar, Monza exhaust, cockpit mounted, hand-operated manual choke (awesome), beautiful wood dash, and many, many others. Serious inquiries can receive a complete print-out of all customizations, modifications and repairs completed by Specialty Sports Cars. In short, what you're getting is as close as you can to a factory fresh Spitfire the way it was intended to be -- low, fast, reliable and incredibly fun to drive. This car is easily an every-day driver or a weekend cruiser. For enthusiasts, it is ready for local / regional car shows. For what it's worth: During the years I've owned the car, I have NEVER seen another Spitfire in Central Ohio -- and NEVER another Spitfire reasonably close to the condition of mine throughout the midwest. If getting appreciative looks and knowing you own a one-of-a-kind classic (that is a burst of joy to drive) this may be your car.

I know what this car is worth so I am looking for serious buyers who appreciate a certain kind of motoring experience that is becoming harder to find.

Seller prefers local pick-up but will work with buyer to help arrange long-distance shipping -- seller will contribute $200 to buyer shipping costs.

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
