1980 Triumph Spitfire Convertible Blue W/ Overdrive 65,300 Actual Miles on 2040-cars
Lake Mary, Florida, United States
Pageant Blue 1980 Triumph Spitfire only 65,300 Actual Miles. I am the Third Owner. Overdrive Transmission (which was a $1,500 option when purchased New in 1980) a BONUS over most other Triumph Spitfires! Car is Located in Orlando, Florida Area. New Seats, Carpet, Dash Overlay, windshield chrome molding, and Interior side panels. Also recently replaced Master Cylinder. All electrical including map light work great. Spitfire has Original Engine that has not been rebuilt and runs very strong. In very good condition for a 34 year old Triumph. NO RUST!! My British Car mechanic indicated to me that Original Owner had a Premium Professional Rust Protection applied (Ziebart Rust Proofing - see below Website link) when this Spitfire was New. This included undercoating and rust preventive within door panels etc. This is a Premium Rust Protection not some Dealer rust proofing, which is why this Spitfire is in such good condition now and will be in the future! http://www.ziebart.com/ziebart---home/protection/undercoating This Spitfire Gets lots of attention and heads turning when driven! Installed new modern stereo "Retro Sound Zuma" with USB port for I pod or portable device. Most Paint is Original has some imperfections but very good paint for a 34 year old car. I had the bumpers re blackened. Not Show quality paint but paint in very good condition Sold AS Is: Here is the only current item I am aware of: There is a small tear on soft top by window. My mechanic recommends new top as current top is 34 years old. (New top cost is $250 plus install labor $250 total $500); I have decreased the price for this cost. Otherwise this is a very good car strong running car that has been titled and licenses every year and has been preserved and kept in very good condition since 1980 which was the last year Triumph's were sold in the US. Should be seen to be appreciated!! Only selling because I have two (2) Spitfires and wife wants one gone. GREAT CLASSIC COVERTIBLE FOR SPRING AND SUMMER FUN CRUISING Comes with Tonneau cover. Hard Top being sold separately. Priced under Hagerty Car Value Index http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch ($8,400) and Less than I have in it. Also for sale locally so I reserve the right to cancel this auction if sold. Winning Bidder, I can make arrangements to have your mechanic perform a inspection on vehicle prior to finalization of payment. Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
