Rockford, Illinois, United States
Engine:4 cyl.
Make: Triumph
Trim: base
Model: Spitfire
Mileage: 34,000
Drive Type: rwd
This is a nice rust free 1978 Triumph Spitfire with only 34,000 original miles. It is in great shape and has been garaged its whole life. It is a 4-speed non overdrive car. I am the third owner and have owned since 2006. I am selling because I have lost intrest and it does not get driven as much as it should. I had the car painted in 2007 it does have some nics and chips but still looks good as can be seen in the pictures. New Michelin tires with only about 1000 miles on them with minilite style rims. Has Weber downdraft carb. Also has Miata seats that has new foam and been recovered. Newer carpeting and also carpet in the trunk. Sony detatable face cd player with 4 speakers. One in each glove box and two mounted in the back panel. Has rear air shocks. The drivers door handle does not open from the outside but the inside handle works fine. I just reach over and open the door. Top is in good shape but does have a couple snaps that has small tears around them still works fine with out any problems. Even though this is a very nice clean low mileage spitfire it is a 35 year old british car and is being sold as is. That being said the car is available for viewing/inspections prior to the auction ending. Winning bidder is responsible for all shipping arrangements. Any questions call 815-979-2228 leave a message and I will get back to you. Thanks, Dave

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
