Paint and 90% of interior are original and in very good condition. A few small "door dings" along the side, never wrecked, no bondo. Has 2 small patches of rust (you can see one in the photos), that were arrested years ago. Not structural and do not show. Car runs rich, as pollution pump is missing to recover 10% horsepower. A couple of less than 3/4" tears in hardtop headliner. Convertible top is included and in plastic panel is cracked. Tonneau is included and perfect. Boot is included and perfect. All electrical works (a Lucas miracle!). No significant leaks if any at all. Small dash crack between ashtray and heater vent, about 2" long, not particularly noticeable. Paint is excellent and gives outstanding shine."

A FANTASTIC CAR...my dear little 1976 Triumph SPITFIRE 1500 (lovingly nicknamed "THE SPIT" is offered for sale. Purchased from the family of the original owner, this car had been stalled in a garage for about 10 years, before I was able to buy it. That was 15 years ago. I am the second owner, and have lovingly cared for this car as it was my first clasic car. It is nearly all original, I have taken great pains to keep the beautiful original paint job as good as wax will allow...the interior is original except for some of the floorboard carpet and the center arm rest which could not be saved.

The car has just over 55,000 miles on it and I would not hesitate to drive it at 55 m.p.h. across the country..... it has the original engine except there is no pollution pump in it, and I added an electronic iginition system to assist it to start in cool weather. Surpirsingly, the LUCAS electrical system all works.......everything.......however, the Stromberg carb does run rich, so you have the opportunity to enjoy a few hydrocarbons while driving at highway speeds!

There is one small seam on the drivers side seat which has opened up with age, but it is invisible at the moment. The tires have good tread, the car accelerates nicely through all 4 gears, no vibration, there is no overdrive. I have it currently equipped with the REMOVABLE factory hardtop, but I include Tonneau cover, a convertible top, which has a crack in one of the 3 plastic windows, and a top cover.....when the top is down. There are also two custom made car covers, one which is shown in the photos.

All in all, with original paint, original interior, original engine and drive train...this is a show stopper. It has won awards at the All Brittish Car Show in Houston, Texas, and awards at various car shows in the Oklahoma City area where it has lived happily with my other cars for the past 6 years.

I have always garaged this special car, and it was garaged prior to my ownersship. It was originally purchased in Baltimore and lived there for a few years, moving to Houston where it resided for about 15 years in a carport. There are two minor rust spots under the front (see photo), likely from salt in the early years in Baltimore which I arrested and protecteddecades ago.....nothing that is significant or visible. Comes with original bill of sale, owners manual, and shop manual and all of the spare parts I own. Clear Oklahoma title, all numbers match on this car. No nicks or distorted glass, all original Triplexxx U.K. glass.

Why am I selling?
My wife's 1957 Chevy Bel-Air (the size of a freight train) suddenly invaded my little shop space and with the other vehicles there is no more room, so someone must leave......and so the little guy gets the boot. I will be sad to see our little "Spit" leave the stable. If you have questions about this car, please email me. If you meet the reserve and want a video of the car, I will make one and get it to you.
Thanks for your consideration, it is a great car and I will be sad when "THE SPIT" leaves the stable.
Dave

Jaguar F Type V6 S vs Triumph Street Triple R in open-air track attack

Sun, 21 Sep 2014

Typically, these track battle videos pair up car against car or, in more disparate circumstances, car versus crossover, as we saw the other day. While the outcome of that battle was quite predictable, what'll happen when an equally fetching (and fast) four-wheeler is put up against one of the icons of the two-wheeled world? Evo just had to find out.
Matching up a Jaguar F-Type V6 S Convertible against a Triumph Street Triple R is at least more of an even fight than the last battle between the Porsche Cayman GTS and Macan Turbo. The Triumph has a 675-cc engine to work with, and is very light. Meanwhile, the Jag has a thumping 380-horsepower, 3.0-liter, supercharged V6 to haul about it's considerably heftier heft. Who will come out on top?
You'll need to watch the full video to find out.
