2008 Toyota Tundra Double Cab 5.7L V8 with EXTRAS
Details: • 83,300 miles • 5.7L V8 engine • SR5 4 door double cab • 6.5 foot bed with liner • Silver exterior paint with gray cloth interior • Hydraulic tailgate • Tow package (with hitch, 1 7/8" ball and 2" ball) • VIN # - 5TBBV54168S519405 Extras: • Remote start with security system • Pioneer AVIC Z3 GPS navigation system with backup camera • SiriusXM satellite radio vehicle kit installed (radio and subscription not provided) • Stainless steel side steps • Bug deflector and wind deflectors • Extang Trifecta tonneau cover • All-weather rubber floor mats Know defects: • Dent/ding in tailgate • Front bumper is slightly dented and shifted due to a run in with a deer • Minor dings on hood due to hail damage • Skid plate needs bolt holes re-tapped in order to be re-installed • Backup camera not working (it used to work and recently stopped) I consider the truck to be in "very good" condition for being 6 years old. I ran the private party values online and came up with the following for comparison purposes (keep in mind these values don't include all "extras" listed above or the true value of them): • Kelly Blue Book "Good" condition private party value is $20,216. • Edmonds "Clean" condition private party value is $18,301. I really hate to part with this truck, but current gas prices along with future "family" expenses are forcing me to do so in order to budget money more appropriately. |

2015 Toyota Camry ushers in 'sweeping redesign' [w/poll]
Wed, 16 Apr 2014With a dozen years atop the nation's best-selling car charts, you might think that there wouldn't be a lot of incentive for Toyota to rework its Camry, particularly so early in the life of the current model. But despite its unassailable sales totals, the midsize sedan has come in for substantial criticism for its milquetoast dynamics, piecemeal interiors and bland design.
As part of CEO Akio Toyoda's mantra to build more exciting cars, the 2015 Camry has arrived with a fresh new look and content that goes far beyond the Japanese automaker's typically slight mid-cycle redesigns. Featuring some 2,000 new parts, the 2015 Camry casts a 1.8-inch longer shadow and stretches across a widened track (0.4 inches). And it won't be just the widened track that should help deliver a more dynamic performance - Toyota is citing a stiffer chassis thanks to additional spot welds along with a rejiggered suspension, retuned electric power steering and a new two-stage brake booster for improved braking feel.
A new XSE trim promises the sportiest performance yet, including model-specific shock absorbers and springs, stiffer bushings, unique stability control programming and 18-inch wheels to go along with a unique front end treatment featuring mesh grille inserts and a revised fascia.
Toyota pondering high-performance GT86 hybrid?
Fri, 08 Mar 2013From what Autocar has to say, Toyota has even more plans for the GT86 beyond the convertible concept we just saw at the Geneva Motor Show. Along with a planned midcycle facelift, Toyota is reportedly looking at how to pack some extra ponies under the coupe's hood, and while there has already been a lot of talk about superchargers and turbochargers, it sounds like a performance-boosting hybrid system could also be in the works.
Talking to Toyota chief engineer Tetsuya Tada, Autocar has learned that the automaker is considering an electrical motor assist for the sporty coupe to improve performance without harming fuel economy. In attempting to keep weight - and, presumably, costs - down, the article mentions the use of a system closer to what Honda uses for its Integrated Motor Assist rather than a full Hybrid Synergy Drive system used in current Toyota hybrids. Tada says the added weight of the system could be offset by weight reduction, while aerodynamic changes and a lower center of gravity could improve the car's handling.
No word yet on whether a mild hybrid system would find its way to North America's Scion FR-S - let alone its Subaru BRZ twin - but the thought is certainly an intriguing one.
Toyota vows to fix poor Camry crash test result that irked Consumer Reports
Tue, 10 Dec 2013Many Toyota vehicles haven't been performing well in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) small overlap frontal crash test, and the Camry is one of them. The 2012 and 2013 Camry both received "Poor" ratings, IIHS' lowest rating, in the test, which spurred Consumer Reports to take the car off its "Recommended" list. In response to the low ratings in the small overlap frontal test, and in a bid to maintain its best-seller status, Toyota will make changes to the Camry to improve its IIHS safety rating and to enhance its design, The Detroit News reports.
The Camry performed well in the moderate overlap frontal, side, roof strength and head restraints and seats crash tests, receiving "Good" ratings, IIHS' highest rating, in all four tests. That was enough for IIHS to award it a Top Safety Pick rating, just not TSP+.
Bill Fay, head of Toyota's US division, reportedly says, "It's still a five-star car. It still does very well in all the IIHS tests. It did not in [the small overlap frontal crash test], and we're busy making the necessary adjustments so that we can address that."
