Truck has a brand new set of Michelin Raised White Letter Tires that I put on the truck @ 105,555 miles. These are the Michelin LTX Mud and Snow Tires in size P265/70 Tires. I bought these tires on 08/28/2012 (have sales receipt and will give to buyer). I have ALL the SERVICE RECORDS for this truck stores on Toyota's MY TOYOTA Website; it keeps record of every service your Toyota has had done at a Toyota dealership. This truck has never had ANY maintenance work done on it by anyone but a Toyota dealer. The tires I mentioned did come from a independent tire store but all scheduled maintenance and even the front disc brakes were replaced by an authorized Toyota dealer. The truck has 114,489 miles on it. The new Michelin Tires were installed at 105,555 in August of 2012. I have put only 9,000 miles on this vehicle over the past 20 months. It stays washed and waxed in the garage. Also, I have pulled a small U-Haul Trailer with it only once to take my daughter to college. This is a Toyota Tacoma that runs great and is clean as a whistle, the engine compartment looks brand new (see pictures). Again, ALL MAINTENANCE RECORDS are available and I will print them all off and provide to the buyer. I am selling this truck because I am buying a new 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser (4WD). I was and am the only owner of this truck. I used to work for Toyota as a factory rep and this Tacoma was my company car back in 2009 and I drove it for 9,000 miles and then I bought it because I'd never owned a truck before and this thing is great! I am selling it for a discounted price because it got caught out in a Texas hail storm last year and got about $4,000 worth of hail damage. I did not get around to getting it fixed, paint less dent repair can fix all of it. It has a crack on the hood scoop (it's fiberglass) so the hood has to be replaced. Like I said, I am buying a new 2104 FJ Cruiser and that is why I am selling my beloved "Taco." I will answer all questions and provide all the records to satisfy any questions. Toyota, Mazda form electric car technology venture
Thu, Sep 28 2017TOKYO — Toyota has established a new venture to develop electric vehicle technology with partner Mazda, seeking to catch up with rivals in an increasingly frenetic race to produce more battery-powered cars. Policymakers in key markets like China are pushing a shift to electric cars over the next two to three decades, while relatively new rival Tesla is gaining momentum and diesel cars are going through the fallout of the Volkswagen diesel scandal, pressuring traditional automakers to crank up plans for fully electric vehicles (EVs). At the same time, declining battery costs are enabling more power to be packed into cars, making an electric car future easier to imagine. Toyota said in a statement the new company will develop technology for a range of electric cars, including mini vehicles, passenger cars, SUVs and light trucks. Toyota will take a 90 percent stake in the joint venture, called EV Common Architecture Spirit Co Ltd, while Mazda and Denso Corp, Toyota's biggest supplier, will each take 5 percent. The plans build on a partnership announced in August when Japan's biggest automaker agreed to take a 5 percent stake in Mazda and two said they would jointly develop affordable electric vehicle technologies. Although Toyota is providing most of the financial firepower and existing EV know-how, Mazda's engineers have gained the admiration of the industry with breakthrough technologies such as its compression ignition engine announced last month. Shares in Mazda surged to end the day 3 percent higher, while those in Denso rose 1.8 percent. Toyota shares were flat. Both automakers are somewhat behind rivals, with neither having a fully electric passenger car on the market yet. After years of focusing on bringing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to the market, Toyota last year set up a division to develop electric cars which is led by President Akio Toyoda, and said it plans to introduce EVs in China in the coming years. Toyota has also announced it will bring a game-changing solid-state EV battery to market by 2022. That division would continue as a separate entity from the new joint venture, a Toyota spokeswoman said, while adding that the two teams would co-operate on technology development. Mazda has an R&D budget a fraction of Toyota's, which has made it difficult to develop electric cars on its own. Even so, it has said it plans to launch EVs in 2020.
Amazon Alexa will become your co-pilot in Toyota, Lexus cars
Tue, Jan 9 2018A number of carmakers have introduced Amazon Alexa voice commands that can activate the locks and climate control on their cars, but Toyota is going a step further with Alexa integration by bringing Alexa into the car. Starting in 2018, Toyota will join the likes of BMW by offering the full Alexa voice-controlled app in Toyota and Lexus vehicles with either EnTune 3.0 or EnForm 2.0 infotainment systems. Though Toyota doesn't specifically say which models, we suspect the Camry and Sienna will be the first, since they're the only Toyotas with EnTune 3.0. With Lexus, the LC, NX, RC, and LS models all have available EnForm 2.0, so any or all of those could get Alexa this year. Toyota suggests a number of ways users could use Alexa in the car, such as for taking notes and setting reminders, activating apps, or for controlling other smart devices, such as the heating and cooling on your house. That suggestion rings strongly to those of us in the midst of the bomb-cyclone winter storm. We imagine you'll probably even be able to order goods from Amazon, too. One thing that is strange is that Toyota has made this leap in connectivity, and yet you still can't get Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on any Toyota or Lexus. This is especially odd as it's safe to assume more people own and use Apple and Android products on a daily basis and on the road than Amazon Alexa. Not to mention the fact that almost every other automaker offers both systems on their vehicles. Either way, mobile Alexa presents some interesting possibilities and is sure to be appealing to fans of the Amazon service. And while only a few models will be available with it in 2018, Toyota and Lexus will expand availability in 2019. Related Video:
BMW i5 could get Toyota-sourced hydrogen power
Tue, 18 Nov 2014It's starting to feel like the automotive landscape is right on the cusp of a boom in hydrogen-fueled vehicles. After all, the Toyota FCV is nearly ready, Volkswagen is readying a fuel cell concept for this week's Los Angeles Auto Show and Hyundai already sells its Tucson Fuel Cell. The next big name to add to that list might be BMW, as the company's co-development deal with Toyota starts to bear fruit.
According to Autocar, BMW may use a version of the fuel cell system from the Toyota FCV in the future i5. As part of its eco-oriented i sub-brand, the i5 is expected to be a stretched version of the i3 (pictured above) with extra rear legroom and cargo space. It's unclear at the moment whether a battery-powered pure electric powertrain will also be available. If accurate, then the rumor could give the Bavarian brand a counterattack against Mercedes-Benz' planned fuel cell vehicle in 2017.
BMW and Toyota first signed the memorandum of understanding to co-develop fuel cells, lightweight technology and a sports car back in 2012, and they made the arrangement official in late 2013. So far, few details on the progress of the work have been disclosed, but the performance model has been rumored to use a front-engine, all-wheel drive layout with supercapacitors.
