SEE DECRIPTION BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS ON CONDITION BUT PLEASE NOTE TRUCK IS BEING SOLD AS IS.."

OK..SAD AS IT IS I HAVE TO LET GO OF A VERY SPECIAL TOYOTA THAT I HAVE OWNED SINCE 2008 BUT HAVE NOT HAD THE TIME AND MONEY TO TAKE CARE OF IT PROPERLY THESE DAYS... THE TRUCK IS SPECIAL FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS

1) ITS AN 1989 FIRST YEAR OF NEW BODY TYPE WHICH IS IS THE MOST CONVENTED ALONG WITH THE 1983-1988 BODY TYPES

2) ITS A REGULAR CAB PICKUP WITH FACTORY SUNROOF AND POWER WINDOWS, LOCKS, ANTENNA.  THIS IS UNHEARD OF AND TO BE HONEST MINE IS THE ONLY ONE OF THE THEM I HAVE EVER SEEN.. USUALLY THESE OPTIONS GO WITH THE EXTENDED CAB

3) TRUCK CAME FROM NEW MEXICO ORIGINALLY BEFORE I OWNED IT IN NEW YORK (PAID $5000) AND HAS NO RUST TO BE CONCERNED WITH,, TRUCK IS ALSO RARE FOR A TOYOTA FROM THESE YEARS SO THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS TO DO WHATEVER TO THE CAR WITH KNOWING YOU HAVE A GOOD SHELL TO GO ALONG WITH IT

4) HAS CHROME SIDE RAILS IN GOOD SHAPE THAT JUST NEED  GOOD CLEANING AND ALSO A FRONT WINDOW SUN VISOR SPOILER WITH LIGHTS WHICH GIVES THE TRUCK A HEAD TURNING APPEAL AT NIGHT.. CHROME SIDE VIEW WINDOWS, ALSO HAS HAD A RAVEN CAP SINCE 1989 SO BED IS VERY CLEAN... AND WHILE THEY ARE OFF CAR HAS WIRING TO BUMPER FOR FOG LIGHTS ALREADY.. THE FOG LIGHTS WHILE LENSES CRACKED WILL COME WITH THE TRUCK

5) THE PERSON i HAD BOUGHT IT FROM DID SOME THINGS LIKE CHANGE THE TIMING BELT WATER PUMP ETC SO IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE 6 CYLINDER THAT IT CAME WITH YOU CAN REST ASSURED THAT THESE 2 THINGS DONT NEED DONE AGAIN ANYTIME SOON.  i ALSO REPLACED THE CLUTCH AT ABOUT 155,000 MILES

THAT SAID..IT NEED A GOOD HOME BECAUSE OVER THE YEARS SINCE I HAD IT I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO UPKEEP IT THE WAY I WOULD HAVE LIKED AND LIVING IN NEW YORK CAN BE HARD ON A NEW AUTOMOBILE YET ONE THAT IS A CLASSIC ANTIQUE AT THIS POINT.. IM SELLING IT AS HAVENT DRIVEN IT MUCH IN LAST YEAR AND SINCE I DONT HAVE TIEM OR MONEY TO TREAT IT RIGHT FEEL ITS BETTER TO LET SOMEBODY ELSE HAVE IT AS THIS TRUCK DESERVES TO BE ON THE ROAD FOR A LONG TIME IS A GOOD CANDITATE FOR SO MANY THINGS.. WHILE TRUCK HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN AND STARTS RIGHT UP MY DREAM WAS ALWAYS HOPING TO PUT A DIESEL ENGINE IN IT ONE DAY

HERES WHAT I KNOW ABOUT WHAT THE TRUCK NEEDS OR BLEMISHES IT HAS

1) WHILE THERE IS NO RUST INCLUDING THE FRAME TO BE WORRIED ABOUT IN THE LEAST THE TRUCK HAS BEEN SCRATCHED AND BANGED UP HERE AND THERE FROM BEING PARKED ON NEW YORK STREETS.. SEE PICTURES BUT THESE INCLUDE A BENT REAR BUMPER, DENT IN LOWER REAR QUARTER, DENT ON PASSENGER DRIVERS DOOR AND A NICE NICK OF A DENT DIRECTLY ON TIP OF PASSENGER FENDER.  REAR DRIVER QUARTER AND BENT REAR BUMPER ON DRIVERS SIDE WAS FROM WHEN I LOANED MY CAR TO A FRIEND AND HE HAD SOME KIND OF FENDER BENDER AND GOT CLIPPED IN REAR BY A POLICE CAR THERE...DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT IT BUT DAMAGE WAS MINIMAL AS YOU CAN SEE

2) PAINT IS GOOD BUT TRUCKS NEED A  GOOD RUB DOWN CLEANING AND WAX.  REAR BED MAY HAVE BEEN REPAINTED BEFORE I WONED IT AS SOMETIMES I NOTICE THE WHITE  LOOKS A LItTLE DIFFEReNT FROM CAB.. THIS MAY ALSO JUST BE A DIRT THING

3) POWER WINDOWS OR SOMETHING ON THE SAME LINE HAS A SHORT SOMEWHERE AND KEEPS BLOWING THE FUSE... I BASICALL KEEP EXTRAS IN TEH TRUCK AND REPLACE THEM WHEN THEY BLOW BUT IT HAPPENS ABOUT ONCE A WEEK AND I SIMPLY HAVE HAD NO TIME TO DEAL WITH IT PROPERLY AND SOURCE OUT THE PROBLEM.  THE PANEL ON THE DRIVER WINDOW IS OFF THE CAR RIGHT NOW AS I REPLACED THE SWITCH AT ONE TIME..NOT SURE IF THIS IS WHERE THE ISSUE IS

POWER ANTENNA IS BROKEN OFF AND NEEDS REPLACED.. ANOTHER CASUALTY OF NYC

4) TRUCK WAS BROKEN INTO THRU THE BACK SO BOTH CAP WINDOW IS MISSING AND THE CAB WINDOW ITSELF NEED TO BE REPLACED

5) SOME DEBRIS OF SOME KIND CRACKED THE SUNROOF DURING HURRICANE SANDY... IT DOES NOT LEAK BUT NEEDS REPLACED AT SOME POINT

6) HAS EXHAUST LEAK.. REAR PIPE IS MISSING (SEE PICTURE) AND MAY BE LEAKING SLIGHTLY AROUND CATALYTIC CONVERTER BECAUSE I SOMETIMES SMELL FUMES IN THE CAB

7) REAR WHEEL CYLINDERS NEEDS REPLACED SOON AS IT STARTED LEAKING BRAKE FLUID RECENTLY.  I BASICALLY JUST CHECK IT FROM TIME TO TIME AND REPLENISH THE FLUID.. HAVE HAD NO MONEY TO FIX IT UNFORTUNATELY WHICH IS WHAT I PREFERRED TO DO BEFORE SELLING IT

8) COULD USE AN OIL CHANGE AS SEEMS THERE IS A SLIGHT LEAK AT OIL FILTER AND ALTHO THE TRUCK RUNS GREAT ID SAY A TUNE UP IS A GOOD IDEA

9) BECAUSE OF THE AGE OF THE TRUCK AND BEING DRIVEN AROUND BUMPY NEW YORK LIKELY NEED NEW SHOCKS AND WHEN CHECKING FOR WHERE THE BRAKE LEAK NOTICED SOME PLAY IN THE IDLER ARM THAT MIGHT MEAN IT NEED REPLACED AS WELL  IF I HAD TIME AND MONEY I WOULD HAVE RAISED TRUCK AND OVERALLLED ALOT OF SUSPENSION TO IMPROVE OFF ROAD HANDLING ETC

10) NO LOCK ON GASOLINE DOOR CURRENTLY.  AND KEY ONLY STARTS TRUCK DOES NOT OPEN DOOR.. THE REASON FOR THIS IS I HAD LOANED THE TRUCK ONE DAY TO A FRIEND WHO SOMEHOW BROKE THE ORIGINAL KEY OFF IN THE IGNITION.  WHILE I WAS ABLE TO GET THE BROKEN PIECE OUT OF THE IGNITION AND HAVE A NEW KEY MADE... THE NEW KEY COULDNT ALSO OPEN THE DOORS FOR SOME REASON..PROBABLY THE NEW KEYS NEEDS A LITTLE MORE FILING TO DO OR SIMPLY ONE CAN REMOVE ON OF THE DOOR LOCKS AND HAVE A SEPERATE KEY MADE FOR IT..

11) HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THE AIR CONDITIONER.. NEVER USED IT SINCE I OWNED IT AS IM NOT A FAN BELIEVE IT OR NOT.. DEFINTELY DOES NOT BLOW COLD AIR i CAN TELL YOU THAT

ALL IN ALL WHILE THE TRUCK DRIVES AND I HAVE USED IT FROM TIME TO TIME i AM NOT GOING TO ACT LIKE YOU CAN JUST WIN THIS AUCTION AND EXPECT TO DRIVE IT ANY DISTANCE.. i WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND THIS AND UNLESS YOU ARE SOMEWHAT LOCAL TRUCK SHOULD BE TOWED OR IF THE BIDDING REACHES $4000 I WILL PAY FOR GETTING THE WHEEL CYLINDERS AND OIL CHANGE BEFORE IT IS PICKED UP

QUITE A LIST PERHAPS AND AGAIN THE TRUCK IS BEING SOLD AS IS..BUT I HAVE DONE MY BEST TO EXPLAIN WHAT I KNOW BUT AFTER ALL THIS IS A TRUCK THAT IS NOW 35 YEARS OLD SO DONT THINK YOU ARE BUYING SOMETHING THAT WILL NOT NEED NURTURED...

HOWEVER I CANT TELL YOU HOW NOT ONLY HOW ITS DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO KILL A TOYOTA ( SEE YOU TUBE HOW TO KILL A TOYOTA) BUT ALSO ALSO HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE REMARKED ABOUT HOW NICE MY TRUCK WAS OVER THE YEARS TO THE POINT OF ASKEING IF IT WAS FOR SALE.  REGARDLESS OF THAT AND THE WORK IT NEED NOW I HONESTLY DO BELIEVE THIS IS A PERFECT TRUCK FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS A NON RUST BODY WITH SOME RARE FACTORY BELL AND WHISTLES... THIS FACT MAKES THE CAR WORTHWHILE AS IT COULD LAST ANOTHER 30 YEARS IF SOMEONE PUTS THE TIME INTO ADDRESSING ITS UPKEEP NEEDS.  THIS CAR IS FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTS A VINTAGE TOYOTA PICK UP AND DONT WANT TO BE CONCEREND WITH TEH FLOOR FALLING OUT OR THE BODY RUSTING AWAY.  YOU BE THE JUDGE BUT I WOULD LOVE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING TO DO A NUMBER ON THIS TRUCK AND MAKE IT INTO EVERYTHING AND MORE THAT I EVER DREAMED OF

UP TO YOU AND THANKS FOR LOOKING AT MY BABY..WHILE ITS IS MY THIRD TOYOTA PICK UP OVER THE YEARS I WILL BE SAD TO SEE IT GO
PLEASE NOTE AS I AM GOING TO MY NEPHEWS WEDDING IN CALIFORNIA AT BEGINNING OF MONTH THIS TRUCK MUST BE PAID FOR AND PICKED UP PRETTY MUCH WITHIN A WEEK OF AUCTION ENDING

Who sold the most small/midsize pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates that, too

Wed, 27 Feb 2013

PickupTrucks.com has taken another look at the sales of its favorite vehicle bodystyle as part of an ongoing series. According to registration data from R.L. Polk, the Toyota Tacoma easily took the crown as America's best-selling mid-sized pickup, with 133,477 units rolling into new homes in 2012. For comparison, the second-place Nissan Frontier only saw 50,566 registrations.
We feel compelled to point out that before Ford pulled the plug on its ancient Ranger, the company was moving some 75,000 units per year. That number had shriveled to 15,662 by 2012, which was still enough to surpass the Honda Ridgeline. Interestingly enough, one person brought home a brand-new Hummer H3T as well. But mid-sized trucks represent only a fraction of total pickup sales. Dealers sold a total of 241,471 midsizers last year compared to 988,326 half-tons.
That segment was dominated by General Motors with 533,814 sales followed by Ford at 478,204. Ram Trucks trailed behind in third with 241,204 units with Toyota close behind at 229,769. Nissan, meanwhile, remains a distant fifth. Head over to PickupTrucks.com for a closer look at the breakdown in each segment.

Toyota, Ford not interested in FCA merger

Mon, Jun 15 2015

Sergio Marchionne will preach the benefits of mergers to anyone who'll listen, but his calls for industry consolidation may be falling on deaf ears. At least, that is, the ears of those who the Fiat Chrysler chief would most like to bend. Not only is General Motors uninterested, but according to The Detroit News, neither are Toyota or Ford. "It's something we would not be interested in," said Toyota's North American chief Jim Lentz, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Toyota Technical Center. "At 10 million (vehicles) we have enough scale right now to do what we need to do. There really would be no advantage for us." Toyota isn't the only one unenthused by the prospect of merging with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The Detroit News also reports that Ford, though it may yet to have been approached by Marchionne, wouldn't be interested either. "We're not a suitor for FCA," said Ford CFO Bob Shanks. "We don't see that type of opportunity as one that applies to us." With GM, Toyota, and Ford expressing disinterest in Marchionne's merger idea, the FCA chief will likely start looking elsewhere – or look for other ways to compel his primary candidate to reconsider. He may eventually find a partner – more likely in the Far East or within Europe – but it may not take the form of the major player Sergio has hoped for. All of the Bond cars of 'No Time To Die' (caution for spoilers)

Thu, Sep 30 2021

Note: The following overview of the cars in No Time To Die contains spoilers. Read at your own risk, or come back after seeing the film to make sure you caught everything.   No Time To Die picks up right around where Spectre leaves us. James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) are driving along in Bond’s restored and iconic DB5 in Matera, Italy. Things donÂ’t stay all that cheery for long in picturesque Matera, though. As is tradition in Bond films, the first car chase hits us with an explosion of action in what's a super-long opening scene. Fourth-gen Maserati Quattroporte: The baddies in the beginning are driving a Maserati and chasing after Bond in the DB5. Specifically, theyÂ’re in a fourth-gen Quattroporte, which feels right for a chase scene in Italy. Its squared-off looks are mean enough, and its Italian growl is a good background soundtrack to the DB5Â’s inline-six. In addition to the Quattroporte, the chase scene in Matera is home to a couple of the best stunts of the entire movie, including the arch jump done with a Triumph motorcycle seen in trailers — Matera is extremely hilly. Eventually, Bond and Swann find themselves in the DB5 again together, which is where the famous gatling gun scene from the trailer commences, but not before the bulletproof windows and body of the DB5 are thoroughly tested. RIP to the first-gen Range Rover Classics and Jaguar XFs that joined the Maserati in pursuit of Bond (here's a list of other Bond cars over the years). As the DB5 escape scene concludes, we catch a glimpse of what appears to be a Ferrari from the 1970s. However, the view was far enough away that weÂ’ll need a second look to be sure of the exact model. Land Rover Series III: Next time we see Bond, heÂ’s fishing in Jamaica and driving around a blue Land Rover Series III. ItÂ’s yet another of the many Land Rover products featured throughout the film, and unlike most of BondÂ’s Aston Martins, this one doesnÂ’t seem to have any unique features. The other intriguing vehicle out of Jamaica? An old Chevrolet Bel-Air expertly and effectively piloted by Bond newcomer, Ana de Armas. Next up, we get a few shots of the new and still-not-for-sale Aston Martin Valhalla mid-engine supercar (also seen in trailers). BondÂ’s old boss M is in the scene which appears to have been shot in some secret wind tunnel of sorts. Much to our dismay, nobody ends up driving the Valhalla in the film. Could it be a teaser for what the next 007Â’s car is?
