Up for sale is a very nice built up Toyota Tacoma. It is the Xtra cab 2 door TRD off road SR5 with power everything. 68XXX miles on all original equipment. 3.4L V6 and push button 4x4 with electronic rear diff locker. The gray interior is very clean, looks almost new. Never smoked in. The color is Imperial Jade Mica and there are no big scratches or paint defects. Fresh buff and wax! No big dents or body damage and it's never been wrecked. It has nice 265/70R16 goodyear silent armor A/T's with good tread on them. NO MAJOR FRAME RUST! Frame has been undercoated with fluid film and looks great. It is also covered by Toyota for rust until 2019.
I designed and built almost $2000 worth of armor (July 2013):
Custom front plate steel winch bumper - herculined and painted black
Custom rear plate steel bumper with hitch - herculined and painted black
Square tube rock sliders - painted black
Steel skid plate - painted grey
I installed:
Tuff Stuff 12500 lb. waterproof winch (July 2013)
Tundra progressive coils and Tundra 5100 adjustable shocks installed up front (3" lift) (June 2013, 63k miles)
New steering rack bushings (May 2013)
JBA stainless catback exhaust (2010)
Injen air intake (proven 10hp, 15 ftlb) (May 2013)
Rhinoliner bed liner (2004)
Tri-folding hard tonneau cover (locks bed closed for protection) (2004)
5% window tint on back and 35% on front windows (lifetime warranty) (2011)
Clear corner lights with amber led bulbs (2012)
Led interior lights (2012)
Kenwood head unit with aux and wired for an amp/subwoofer (2010)
I also color matched the side mirrors green (2012)
Debadged the tailgate and doors.
This tacoma is also equipped with a factory keyless entry system, plus an aftermarket 2-way security system with keyless entry, loud alarm, and remote start. The color lcd screen key fob communicates with the truck and alerts the owner of issues with the vehicle from a distance.
All the fluids have been changed at 60k miles with full synthetics, Amsoil and Mobil 1. Only the best in this truck. $120 of Amsoil synthetic in the transmission, and $70 of Amsoil synthetic gear oil in the drivetrain. The truck has been in the family since new, so I know and have all the maintenance records. There is not a single issue with this truck that needs attention.
Retail is $16500 without all the mods if you bought this from a dealer. You won't find another truck like this in Iowa with no rust at all. These frames are known to rust so I protected it from day 1.
The truck is in Ames, Iowa. Clean and clear title in the palm of my hand.

Toyota settles for $3M after being found liable in sudden acceleration case
Sat, 26 Oct 2013A jury has decided that faulty software was to blame for a crash involving a 2005 Toyota Camry that killed one woman and injured another. This is the first time Toyota has been found liable by a jury in a lawsuit involving sudden acceleration claims. Toyota has maintained that driver error is the most likely cause for cases of sudden acceleration.
Shortly after the jury in the case, which took place in Oklahoma and centered around a crash that injured 76-year-old Jean Bookout and killed her passenger, Barbara Schwarz, reached a verdict that would see Toyota paying $3 million in compensatory damages, a confidential settlement was reached. The jury, which had found Toyota liable for "reckless disregard" for public safety, had yet to decide what punitive damages Toyota would face.
Toyota said in a statement, "While we strongly disagree with the verdict, we are satisfied that the parties reached a mutually acceptable agreement to settle this case. We will continue to defend our products vigorously at trial in other legal venues."
Mazda and Toyota formally announce plans to 'make cars better'
Wed, May 13 2015Following Monday's report that Toyota and Mazda could be expanding their cooperation, the two Japanese automakers have made it official, issuing a joint press release announcing a "mutually beneficial long-term partnership" that will "make cars better." The two companies will set up a joint committee to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of each party. As we explained yesterday, that likely means Mazda will benefit from Toyota's plug-in-hybrid and fuel-cell tech, while the world's largest automaker can take advantage of the Zoom-Zoom automaker's line of efficient Skyactiv engines. "I am delighted that our two companies can share the same vision and work together to make cars better. I can think of nothing more wonderful than showing the world – together – that the next 100 years of cars will be just as fun as the first," Toyota President Akio Toyoda said in the attached joint statement. Mazda President and CEO Masamichi Kogai echoed that sentiment, saying: "I hope that by working together to make cars better, we can raise the value of cars in the eyes of consumers while also enhancing the manufacturing capabilities of our home, Hiroshima, and all the communities we are involved in as well." Scroll down for the official joint press release. Toyota and Mazda Team Up to Make Cars Better Tokyo, Japan, May 13, 2015-Toyota Motor Corporation and Mazda Motor Corporation today entered an agreement to build a mutually beneficial long term partnership. By leveraging the resources of both companies to complement and enhance each other's products and technologies, the partnership will result in more appealing cars that meet the diverse needs and tastes of customers all over the world. A joint committee will now be set up to evaluate how best to utilize each company's respective strengths. The committee will encourage broad and meaningful collaboration across a range of fields, including environmental and advanced safety technologies. Marking the agreement, Toyota President Akio Toyoda said: "As evidenced by their SKYACTIV Technologies and KODO-Soul of Motion design, Mazda has proven that it always thinks of what is coming next for vehicles and technology, while still managing to stay true to its basic carmaking roots. In this way, Mazda very much practices what Toyota holds dear: making ever-better cars. I am delighted that our two companies can share the same vision and work together to make cars better.
Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic
Mon, Oct 24 2016Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each.
