2008 Toyota Tacoma Regular Cab. 2wd. 73k Miles. Well Maintained. on 2040-cars
Spokane, Washington, United States
This pickup was purchased by me from the original owner with 8K miles on it. I have taken very good care of it. I have receipts for all oil changes at 4K mile intervals starting with a base oil change at 8K when I purchased it. It has a CD player, tilt wheel, A/C, Three over the shoulder belts (seats three fairly comfortably), class III hitch, 20" wheels as well as snow wheels/tires and a DJM 3/4 lowering kit. I've received questions about the lowering job, so I'll try to answer them all in one shot. The truck still has more clearance than my wife's Subaru. The kit comes with upper and lower control arms to handle the lowering part, so the front springs are stock as well as the rear springs. It rides just as nice as it did when it was new. The rear is a lowering block and a bolt-in notch. The kit simply gets rid of some of the ugly space between the tire and the fender well opening. I had the front aligned when I bought tires not that long ago and the alignment is perfect.
The truck has a small scratch by the gas door, and some pencil lead sized rock chips on the leading edge of the hood, but that's it. The driver's floor mat is toast, but the passenger's one is good. The seat is perfect as far as I can tell, it has no rips or signs of wear. I love the truck, I'm just looking for something more along the lines of a mid-life crisis mobile. |

Toyota, Mazda drop Takata as Mitsubishi, Subaru weigh options
Sat, Nov 7 2015It's not a very good time to be Takata right now. Fresh on the heels of longtime partner Honda ditching them, Toyota and Mazda have both come out and said they will not use the company's airbag inflators if they continue to rely on ammonium nitrate. Bloomberg reports that Subaru and Mitsubishi are also contemplating a divorce. "The inflator using ammonium nitrate produced by Takata will not be adopted by Toyota," President Akio Toyoda said during a briefing today. "What's most important above anything else is the safety and peace of mind of customers." Mazda echoed that position, simply saying it "will not use Takata airbag inflators which contain ammonium nitrate in our new cars." When you lose three huge OEM accounts in as many days, it's certainly going to have a deleterious effect on your fortunes. In Takata's case, that's meant a staggering 39-percent drop in their share price over the last three days. Yesterday alone, the company saw a 6.2-percent fall, Bloomberg reports. As the business publication reports, though, Takata isn't going down without a fight. The company is "considering some plans to survive," including a fundraising plan that will see it potentially offer up additional shares for sale. Still, at least one analyst doesn't see whatever company survives staying involved in the airbag inflator business. "I really don't see how they're going to be able to survive as an inflator manufacturer," Valient Market Research founder Scott Upham told Bloomberg. "When your major clients publicly come out and say that they're not going to use your products anymore, it makes this very difficult to sustain your business." Toyota says you might have the 40-millionth Corolla ever built
Sat, 07 Sep 2013The guy who bought the 50-millionth Toyota in the US got a free Camry and RAV4, but whoever in the world bought the 40-millionth Corolla in August gets a hearty "thank you" from the Japanese automaker. On sale since 1966, the Corolla is the best-selling nameplate in the world by a goodly margin (more than the Volkswagen Beetle and Ford Model T combined). So while you'd think that vehicle number 40 million would be sitting in a museum somewhere, Toyota can't even say in which country this milestone Corolla was sold, let alone to which customer.
One reason that Toyota is unsure where this Corolla was sold is the fact that the Corolla name itself is more than just the compact sedan sold in the US. On our shores alone, sales of the Matrix are lumped in with the Corolla, but around the world, numerous vehicles wear the Corolla name or share its platform. Scroll down for Toyota's press release, and it has also put together a website celebrating 47 years and 40 million sales for the Corolla... and counting.
