2002 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner on 2040-cars
Austin, Texas, United States
Mileage - 157,XXX (used as daily driver so mileage will be a little higher) For sale is a 2002 Toyota Tacoma SR5 PreRunner with automatic transmission, with 157, XXX miles on the odometer. This truck is still in great shape, the interior is in good shape and very clean. This truck has been a great vehicle for me. Like most well cared for Toyota's it been very reliable and will continue to be for the next owner. The asking price is negotiable, but is close to Kelly Blue Book value for this vehicle, trim, and mileage. Automatic Transmission Toyota Keyless entry Bedliner Power door locks Power windows Power adjustable mirrors Running boards WeatherTech Mats, front and back Toolbox (might go with truck, will fit on my next vehicle- would depend on offer) Hitch Mount Alloy Wheels Sliding Rear Window General Condition -- This truck is used and is being sold as such. There is a bad spot under/behind the driver's seat. This is covered by a floor mat. The driver's seat does not have wear from getting in and out- there are not rips or tears in any upholstery. The interior is clean and smells clean. This truck has not been smoked in at all. Frame/Body Rust -- There is not any rust on the vehicle frame that I have observed. The chrome bumper does not have on the underside of it (common for Tacomas). Accidents -- This vehicle has not been in a collision. There has not been any body work done to it. The exterior of the truck looks great as well, the paint is in good shape. There are some small dings from doors hitting the truck in parking lots, but no major dents. The roof of the cab has began to lose some of the clear coat. The spot is about 6"x6". Maintenance -- Oil has been changed regularly (4000 miles typically with Toyota filter), brakes bled, coolant flushed (always used Toyota antifreeze which is supposed to prevent pitting in the engine block). The automatic transmission fluid has been changed every 25k. Belts were changed June 2012. New starter was installed in January 2012. Front wheel alignment this past spring. New brake pads Spring 2012 (also caliper and rotor on the passenger side). Tires - The tires were purchased in May 2013, and have 80% of their tread left on them. Modifications: None, this is stock. I figured the engineers at Toyota were better at making trucks than me. Truck is registered in Texas and has clean Texas title. If you have questions or would like to see the truck to check it out, please give me a call or a text at nine7nine-665-981two. If the posting is up, the trucks still for sale. Cash only. |

Toyota MR2 shows why we still love the 1990s
Wed, 27 Nov 2013Was there a better time for Japanese performance than the 1980s and 1990s? It seems like looking back, Japan was on a roll, producing cars that were affordable, economical, reliable, fast and lightweight. And while all the attention is - thanks to a certain film series - focused on cars like Toyota Supra and Mazda RX-7, there is a lesser-known model that's establishing its own enduring legacy without the help of Paul Walker and Vin Diesel.
The MR2, affectionately known as the "Mister Two" to fanboys, first arrived in 1984 as a lightweight, mid-engined sports car that proceeded to eat the lunch of the Pontiac Fiero in terms of performance. That car was replaced in 1989 with the more familiar, rounded-out MR2, which is the subject of this latest video from the team at Petrolicious.
The video takes a look at a group of MR2 drivers, and attempts to explain what it is about the car that is destined to make it a future classic. Scroll down to see Petrolicious examine the MR2 Connection.
Lexus LX to get diesel engine?
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Australian consumers appear poised to get another diesel-burning luxury SUV in the near future, and word is it's coming from Lexus, of all automakers. Sean Hanley, chief executive of the company's branch in Oz, recently told Aussie website Drive that he's "pretty confident" that the new engine for the LX is getting the green light.
Like in the US, the LX in Australia is currently only offered with a 5.7-liter, gasoline-burning V8. However, sales of the big SUV are presently minuscule Down Under, with Drive reporting just 153 LX570s sold in all of Oz last year. Hanley is negotiating with Japan to get the new diesel in hopes of boosting flagging sales. If his efforts are successful, it would be the first diesel engine offered in a Lexus there. Hanley didn't specify exactly which mill the SUV would get. However, given the LX's close relationship with Toyota Land Cruiser, the diesel 4.5-liter twin-turbo V8 already available in the Toyota in markets outside of North America seems like a natural choice.
Don't expect the variant to be hopping across the Pacific, though. Lexus spokesperson Allison Takahashi tells Autoblog she has heard "nothing" about an oil-burning LX coming to the US. That's not a huge surprise, though, because neither Toyota nor Lexus offer any diesels in their lineups today. Also, Lexus has only sold 1,981 LX570s through June, which only placed it ahead of the LFA supercar in the brand's sales. It's probably just not worth certifying the engine for such a low-volume model.
