2001 Toyota Tacoma Pre Runner Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 2.7l on 2040-cars
Dublin, Ohio, United States
This is Toyota's famous Tacoma doublecab SR5 prerunner in the right color… black. I am the original owner and have had no issues with this wonderful truck since I have owned it. It has never left me stranded. It has the stance of an off road vehicle but with only two wheel drive. The truck goes down the road like a champ and has always worked extremely well. (Duh… it's a Toyota!)The vehicle is in excellent condition. The paint is bright with no rust. The interior is excellent with no tears or rips. The dashboard is virtually perfect… no cracking or fading. The drivetrain runs as good as always and, while 175,000 may seem like a lot of miles, anyone familiar with Toyotas knows this truck has probably not even reached its half-life. Everything is solid and there are no rattles or squeaks. There is a two inch hitch with a flat four wiring harness and the truck can pull 3,500 pounds. It hasn't pulled too many trailers but when it does, it still travels with a lot of confidence. The ARE fiberglass cap, their top of the line "Z" model ($1,400 when new), is also in excellent condition. The General Grabber tires have less than 5,000 miles on them The rear bumper is new as there had been a little surface rust appearing. The bedliner is excellent and has done it's job very well. There is a pass-through window allowing you haul items up to 10 feet long while keeping the tailgate and cap cover closed. The air-conditioning blows cold and has recently had many of the fluid changed, including the engine oil and power steering fluid. This is a great truck. We are only selling it because we are moving to Hawaii and need a four wheel drive over there. Please ask any questions if things seem unclear. Thanks for looking! |

2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport
Tue, 16 Apr 2013"Oh yeah, Toyota still makes the Tacoma." Admit it, that's what you just said to yourself. It's a perfectly natural reaction, but the Tacoma has been quietly anchoring its segment for years, outselling every other compact pickup without making too much of a fuss. Toyota hasn't neglected the Tacoma - it was updated in 2012 with a revised nose and interior as the most noteable changes.
In a world awash with high-value fullsize pickups all vying for your attention, the Tacoma still charms more than a few buyers out of their cash. I hooked a Tacoma for a week to see whether it still has enough to recommend it.

Toyota's future fuel cell vehicle lineup revealed?
Wed, Aug 26 2015Being an Olympic sponsor from 2017 through 2024 puts Toyota in the international limelight, and the company is preparing a fleet of efficient, cutting-edge vehicles just in time for the Tokyo games in 2020. At least eight new models could be on the way, according to Automotive News citing Best Car from Japan. Three of those might make use of the hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain developed for the Mirai. While many of these fuel cells are going into Japan-only vehicles, one of them could come here. Reiterating earlier rumors, Automotive News reports a hydrogen-powered Lexus LS is set for 2018. It could be even lighter than the current hybrid model, too. A similar version of the Toyota Crown would launch there in 2019 and possibly an FCEV Estima minivan, too. Beyond fuel cells, Toyota also intends to put the JPN Taxi Concept from the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show into production in time for the games, according to Automotive News. For 2017, the brand's flagship Century is also expected to adopt a hybrid V8 to replace the current V12, as well. Plus, many of its Japanese-market vans are also due for updates. All of this is certainly a massive undertaking to be ready in time, but Tokyo want to use the games as a chance to show the city as an innovative, international destination. Automotive News predicts Toyota could supply thousands of vehicles to haul all of the athletes and dignitaries around. In addition, the Japanese government wants 6,000 fuel cell vehicles on the road and 35 refueling stations up an running for the games. Related Video:
YouTube's Super Bowl commercial buzz list dominated by automakers [w/videos]
Thu, 31 Jan 2013After Sunday's big game, YouTube will be the place to watch every commercial that you missed when you left your seat for an emergency guac refill or, as we say in Cleveland, took the Browns to the Super Bowl. That makes YouTube the nation's water cooler on Monday, and it's got some preliminary stats to share in the lead up to kickoff.
As you know, Super Bowl advertisers, particularly automakers, like to endlessly tease their big budget commercials in the weeks before the game, many times revealing them outright days in advance. Because of this, YouTube can tell us which commercials have been viewed the most so far, and their top five list is all automakers.
Kaley Cuoco appears to have been a good investment for Toyota, as her ad for the RAV4 has garnered the most YouTube views - six million and counting - among Super Bowl commercials so far. Second place goes to Mercedes-Benz, though not its actual Super Bowl commercial, but rather the teaser for it. You know, the one with Kate Upton and the car washing, which is up to 5.6 million views. Third place is Audi's Prom commercial (3.3M views), fourth goes to Volkswagen's slightly controversial Get In, Get Happy ad (3.3M views), and the fifth and final spot is bookended by the teaser video for Kaley Cuoco's commercial (3.2M views). You can watch all five in order below.
